Second, you pay $250 up front without knowing if you'll be approved. If it IS approved, you have to pay another $50 to the state for the actual card. It is not covered by insurance and it's not guaranteed that he'll prescribe medical marijuana, even if you have a documented history of symptoms. Third, if he does approve it, he has the option to give you a card for 3, 6 or 12 months. If he gives you less than a year, he will charge you $150 to resubmit your card. He may be a very good doctor but if your reason for seeing him is specifically to get MedMJ, it seems to me like he is using this as a way to make more money. If he is going to be one of the few doctors certified to prescribe, I wish his office would be more upfront about the costs.

My first visit was long and that made me feel so much more confident in being a new patient. He went over every detail I listed on the intake form, and asked tons of questions. I wish all Doctors were that thorough! I live in North Hills, but have no problem driving to Tarentum because of the excellent care I receive. Every single staff member has been friendly and empathetic and it's a very pleasant environment. Anytime I have questions or concerns, I can call and they are happy to help. They also have the most recent up to date treatments, which has helped me since I am very sensitive to medications. I just completed my first year of Botox, and also started Emgality today. Unlike other Specialists I've been to, Dr. Michel doesn't force medication, but gives you options, and is very open minded. I feel very respected as a patient because we actually talk about various treatments. I highly recommend Dr. Michel to anyone looking for an amazing Neurologist who truly cares. I may not ever be the same person I was before brain injuries which caused my chronic migraines, but thanks to Dr. Michel, I have been given more migraine and pain free days. I am so glad that I found him!
