She prescribed me an antidepressant, with no other follow up to try and determine the cause. I didn't like the drug, so I tapered off of it. At my next appt, she just shrugged her shoulders and didn't offer any other tests or solutions, than to say it might be an allergy. (After about 2 years, the migraines stopped as suddenly as they started.) I had a mole removed that she said she wasn't going to bother sending for biopsy, even though it had become itchy and reddish. Then the kicker was when I went in after having menstrual spotting every day for over a month. I told her that my periods had always beem highly irregular (I was in my late 20's at this point) and that despite not using an sort of birth control regularly, I had never gotten pregnant. She said that it sounded on paper like PCOS but that she wasn't going to test me for it because I don't "look like" I have it. Then she said I probably can't have kids, and that's that, and sent me out thw door to schedule my next routine appt. I did not schedule another appointment. A couple of years later my husband and I started trying to have a kid. I skipped the ob-gyn and went straight to a fertility specialist. Not only was I immediately diagnosed with PCOS that I've likely had since puberty, but the years of not being diagnosed and treated for it had lead to a precancerous endometrial growth. I mean- are they working for some specific pharmaceutical company ? , or just hate their job? Why on earth would anyone go back to these Dr.s, it's-ridiculous ! I wanted to see Dr. Dubyak upon stumbling across an Instagram post from a bloggers positive experience and took advantage of the hormone panel special discount. I wanted to ensure my hormones were in check while keeping my future in mind for family planning as well as get my health back on track (life takes its toll as we all know and my weight crept up on me), What I didn't expect to find out was my hormones were fine (no PCOS as common in my family), but my stress hormone cortisol was off the charts high and contributed to my weight gain, brain fog, and headaches. The closest thing to inappropriate he said was that it was "my time to shine".. words I needed to hear after putting others before myself first for too long. He even said he didn't feel I needed to lose the amount I originally wanted to (30 lbs). On a final note, who wouldn't want IG or Facebook bloggers to advertise their business?
