Regardless, after being told the amount I owed I told the receptionist to send me a bill via postal mail in 1/2019. 9 months later (in 9/2019) I received a call for a debt collector on behalf of this doctor. I never received a bill from this doctor's office, never received a phone call from them during the last 9 months trying to collect payment, and then they sent me to a debt collector. IT IS ILLEGAL TO SEND AN INDIVIDUAL TO A DEBT COLLECTION AGENCY WITHOUT GIVING THEM PRIOR NOTICE THAT YOU ARE GOING TO DO SO. When I called the office to notify them I did not receive a bill for my 1/2019 visit I was told by the receptionist "my system said the bill was generated and I can't control if you get the bill or not". I asked why no one picked up the phone to ask if I had received a bill in February, or March, or May, or June, or July, or August before sending me to a debt collector? I was told by the receptionist "Are you done speaking now?"... Worst doctors experience I have had with extremely unprofessional, unhelpful, and unknowledgeable staff. Highly do not recommend. If you're looking for a good podiatrist go to Dr. Sanfillipo in Addison on Lake street. Much better service and nicer staff.

Dr. turf ruined my foot I can no longer wear sandals, flip flops or any kind of heel because he deformed my big toe and second toe and the outside of the foot. All Dr Turf ever did was have an xray taken then "look" at my foot and say the girls upfront will take care of you. Finally I said you are NOT doing anything for me so stop with the appointments, Any time I asked for ANY of my paperwork or X-rays the girls up front said ok you can have them it cost $15.00 (when your primary requests them they are supposed to be no charge) and when my primary Dr called they said I have to sign a release form so I did and then my primary called again and then faxed 3 times they NEVER released them even when I went there and tried to sign another release form I got the run around saying I have to come back when this one is there so I went back and she would tell me no another girl has to be there. Finally I gave up because it was not worth my time.

That is important info to have when your deductible is $3500. 6 months after my 2nd surgery it was realized that the 2 implanted screws were causing issues and needed to be removed. I was told it would be a "simple" in office procedure and it wouldn't be very painful. I never imagined this "simple in office procedure" would cost me over $2500!! They actually billed my insurance $4300. And yes, it was extremely painful and should not have been scheduled on a whim when my calendar was packed. I was told I wouldn't need to take any time off from work. My foot bled for about a day afterward, and it ended up infected. Argh! Additionally, it's really annoying that payments can't be made online.
