I suffered a foot injury, which I suspected to…read morebe a ruptured Achilles, and didn't want to foot the bill of going to the emergency room or urgent care. Instead, I went straight to the source and began searching for foot specialists. After calling a couple that were unavailable that same day, I called Dr. Salvino's office, and not only was the person on the phone very empathetic, but I was able to come in a couple of hours after my phone call. Upon arrival, he confirmed what I thought to be true, and was recommended various locations for an MRI to determine the severity of the rupture. The next day, I received a call from their office to come in for a second appointment to prepare for surgery. Dr. Salvino explained the entire process to me, answering all of my questions and discussing why surgery was the best option for me. Since I didn't have a PCP, Dr. Salvino recommended a physician that might be able to squeeze me in for a pre-surgery approval physical, so that my surgery could take place as soon as possible. A few days later, Dr. Salvino performed my surgery on my Achilles rupture. It was as smooth of a process as it could have been, and I have been seeing Dr. Salvino weekly since then, notebook in hand to make sure that all my questions are answered. He answers them all with patience and I never leave his office feeling confused or like my questions haven't been answered. There was a time I called the office with a concern about my cast being too tight, and even though he was out of the office, he promptly called me back from his personal number to address my issue. I really appreciated this. I am very pleased with the care I have received from Dr. Salvino and his team. Everyone is friendly, I never have to wait long to see him, and I am pleased with the progress I am making with my injury.

Ok so I will start by saying that I have zero experience with Podiatrists. I only went here…read morebecause my broken (whatever the f that bone is under your pinky toe is called...metacarsal? metatarsal?) which was validated two years prior by an X-ray. I thought perhaps it had re-broken because it was hurting the same way. Now, for those of your that have experienced broken toes (I've had two on my left foot, one on my right, plus this something-carsal-thing) then you kinda know when it happens. It's like 'yup, that's broken'...actually I have broken lots of bones and also knew it, but I digress. So the I only attended the facility twice, but every single person there (including the Dr.) was extremely pleasant. I never waited and I always felt relaxed. The rooms were super cool too because there were photos that Dr. took on his own vacations (which I also do...at my house...not my Dr.'s office, lol). My main issues for not giving above three (other than no comparison and only two visits) is he never wanted to take an X-ray. And it wasn't because it wasn't covered (or, I'm willing to pay for it) but just he was extremely sure it was not rebroken. I'm not one to argue with a Dr.; they know way more than me but wouldn't a Dr. just try to rule that out? In the end I did receive very caring treatment but no definitive answer. Would I go back? Yes.

Finally I said you are NOT doing anything for me so stop with the appointments, Any time I asked for ANY of my paperwork or X-rays the girls up front said ok you can have them it cost $15.00 (when your primary requests them they are supposed to be no charge) and when my primary Dr called they said I have to sign a release form so I did and then my primary called again and then faxed 3 times they NEVER released them even when I went there and tried to sign another release form I got the run around saying I have to come back when this one is there so I went back and she would tell me no another girl has to be there. I was told it would be a "simple" in office procedure and it wouldn't be very painful. I never imagined this "simple in office procedure" would cost me over $2500!! They actually billed my insurance $4300. And yes, it was extremely painful and should not have been scheduled on a whim when my calendar was packed. I was told I wouldn't need to take any time off from work. My foot bled for about a day afterward, and it ended up infected. Argh! The front desk woman was in training and when I asked questions about my care, she told me she didn't know. On my second visit, her trainer was present so I followed up with my questions thinking she'd have the answers. They both gave me attitude as if I was inconveniencing them for asking. Of course, neither of them would provide me much help. So aggravating, rude, and unprofessional. Same experience as all other reviews, they recommended that I come 2x per week. When they were pushing to schedule the following week's appointments, I decided to hold off until I received my first round of bills. Glad I did and also decided not to return. The treatment costs add up fast and it's definitely not worth dealing with the office staff.

Before her appointment, I was very concerned about severity of her injury and after the first follow up dr wouldn't even open the bandage, they sent us to see Dr George. So as I read the profile of Dr George, I felt more confident in what I was reading about his experience and when I read he treats patients like a member of his family that struck me as a power sign we were in good hands. Dr George always took the time with my mom, addressed EVERY fear, helped us all to laugh about something to ease the anxiety about the healing process but he was always very cautious, confident and calm. I can say after weekly follow up appointments for 10 weeks, we were going through stressful times but what was the best outcome with Dr George expertise and guidance, needless to say we are just so thankful for Dr George! Dr George treating you like a family member is spot on of who he is so caring and does wholeheartedly, let's just say he is welcome anytime to a family gathering and means a lot to our family! As I read the other recent reviews, Dr George is where his calling is, he is a professional and knows what he is doing so if you have to wait, I would wait for as long as needed to see Dr George and If you are having to wait it is only because someone truly needs his expertise time. With that said, on our weekly visits, we really only waited once past our appointment time. Dr. Francis Kania is amazing! I found this gem of a podiatrist per my boss at work. She has been…read moretaking her entire family there for years! There's a real lack of reviews online for good podiatrists, and so I decided to share my experience to help others who may be experiencing anything foot or ankle related: I'm 27 and literally 10 days after my 27th birthday I fell over my dog and broke some tiny bones in my foot. Of course, I went to the hospital in pain and was told I was fine - no breaks. Then I went to my week follow up and was told I was "babying it" and needed to start walking on it. None of these docs had solid reviews online, so I blindly trusted them until my large toe went completely numb. The pain was awful! I went for a third and then fourth opinion and was ignored, told my foot was fine after X-ray review, and then sent for an MRI. Doctor #4 didn't explain what happened to me or what to do. He then wrapped my foot and said to stay off it and to make another appt (which took 3weeks to coordinate) all the while I had no idea what to do. In comes my boss who recommends Dr. Kania!! My first visit he clearly saw there was an issue with the foot. He reviewed my MRI and had me do a standing X-ray (where you could see more). He explained to me that it's hard to see the breaks because of the layers of bone in the foot. Standing for the X-ray allowed him to see one break clearly and the other somewhat clear. He put me in a soft cast, wrote me a note for Lollapalooza so I could still attend in a wheelchair (after nearly 2.5 months of suffering, I finally found a really awesome podiatrist) Dr. Kania worked with me for 2/3 months helping me find solutions to attend my friend's wedding, Lolla, and used laser therapy to help reduce pain and swelling in the foot. We met nearly weekly until the X-ray showed I was doing better. He was excellent at explaining the X-rays, all my options, and coming up with solutions! Even after I was doing better, Dr. Kania and his awesome office assistant, Christine, were always available via phone to answer questions I had. I cannot recommend them enough! My last visit was in January because of swelling after working out maybe a bit too hard and wearing bad shoes. Christine worked to get me into the office the same week and Dr. Kania examined my foot carefully, took an X-ray just to be sure all bones were still ok and then saw it was doing well but suggested better shoes/not over exerting until I felt better. As a runner, spin cyclist, hiker I love being active and this injury was not easy. Dr. Kania and the lovely Christine really helped turn things around for me! I didn't like being broken (no one does) but they truly made the experience manageable. I'm healed up pretty well now and I owe it to them! I can not recommend them enough, and I hope this review helps guide ppl that way!
