I am extremely confused by what happened here, so maybe I honestly misunderstood something about…read morethe service that is supposed to be provided here? So I have history of having a herniated disc in my lower back and it just started hurting again a few days ago. it was really unbearable pain so I decided to call a doctor. I've moved since the last time I was treated for this, so I thought i'd try a new place nearby. I came across Adult & Pediatric Orthopedics so I decided to give them a call. The lady who answered was nice and I told her what my issues were, but it was the WEIRDEST thing because she pretty much was telling me that they did not want to take me in as a patient! She said things like, "well you know our doctors can't do anything for you, right?" I said, "what?" she replied, "well we don't have medicine for you here or anything". um ok.... "well can someone look at it? last time my doctor recommended physical therapy for me" lady's response: "um......" silence. me: "ok...?" again she says, "well our doctors can't do anything for you". I am SO CONFUSED as to where this conversation was going! seriously, i am not being sarcastic, i thought this place was supposed to check on people's orthopedic pains? I honestly feel like I am missing something here, because it all seems way too odd! Otherwise, if I am not missing anything here, all i can say is, doctors of the Adult & Pediatric Orthopedics beware: your receptionist is turning down potential patients!!

I don't understand with the bad reviews..but my review is for Dr. Schafer.. this was our 2nd time…read more seeing him for the past 2 years and I thought he is very nice and professional... and he knows what's good and not for your child's broken bones... thanks Dr. S

Last three month, I experienced serious pain in the joints in the neck, knees and shoulders. My…read moreorthopedic doctor Garry Shapiro diagnosed arthritis of the neck and knees and recommended that I start physical therapy as soon as possible. I began to look for a suitable place opened during the evening hours and working with my insurance plan. But most importantly, I was looking for a doctor who specializes in neck pain. I was very lucky to find Physical Therapist Jennifer Laube on Yelp, where she was given high reviews by former patients. Doctor Jennifer Laube PT works in Emery Physical Therapy, and she is the most professional, knowledgeable and upbeat person. First, she gave me a complete evaluation, accessing how well I can move my neck and knees, and asked about symptoms such as pain, numbness and stiffness. She identified weakness in my hips, glutes, hamstrings and shoulders and began to teach me how to do exercises that will help me stretch, strengthen and straighten up my joints and muscles. To relieve pain and stiffness, Dr. Laube gives me a deep tissue massage and ultrasound. She gave me a lot of professional advices on how to keep correct posture, sit at the computer, how to walk and how to sleep. She explained to me what my postures were poor and explained their adverse effects on my health. I continue coming for a treatment, but I am happy to admit that my joint health has improved, less pain and stiffness in my neck and knees. I have plans to get rid of pain forever.

Jen is one of the finest and most dedicated therapists around. As many tears that I shed and pain that I endured, both at home and in physical therapy, I am at the level I am today because of Jen. Four years after spinal fusions I'm still doing exercises because of the necessity Jen instilled in me. That's how great she is. There are a lot of excellent therapists out there; some working at IBJI. BUT--- it will be a very long time before anyone will come close to walking in Jennifer Laube's shoes.
