I got my first puppy from this pet land and was impressed with the service I got. I bought a 1/2 Pom and 1/2 sheltie, we named her Foxy cause she looked like a little fox. I took Fox home and fell in love with her immediately. I was so impressed that persistently convinced my husband for a year to get another puppy from pet land. After all, it breaks my heart seeing puppies caged up in such small boxes and Fox really needed another dog to hang out with.
So we returned to the same pet land and I fell in love with a small chiwawa. However, I let Fox choose her mate so I got the sales lady to put all the pups in the play pen so Fox could find the one she liked. Everything was going really well Fox found a female pup that she got along with really well but then the lady that was helping us told us that we had to get our dog out of the pen and took the chiwawa puppies away really quickly. I was a little bit worried so when she came back I asked her what happened and she told me the chiwawa puppies had parvo and they were supposed to be quarantined! WTF! She then mumbled something and walked away... when she finally came back I asked to speak with the manager. The manager told us that the chances of Fox getting parvo was pretty slim but they wanted to be sure... again...WTF! The girl helping me should have checked before she grabbed them.
Luckily I checked Fox's immunization records when I got home and she did get her parvo shot, whew. I ended up getting another puppy from a breeder instead.
This one bad experience with an incompetent careless staff member could have killed my dog if one of those puppies decided to poop or have poop stuck to there paws and my dog sniffed it. I'm sorry but that was too much of a close call for me to ever want to go back to this or any other Pet Land. read more
