I'm still a fan of Petit A, but in branching out over the past few months I can update my review to say: it's pricey. And, specifically: it's pricey for what you get.
The coffee is good, and I stand by my earlier review that says that their *iced* coffee is hard to beat in the WC1.
However, I think their pricing structure for espresso-based drinks is whack.
Yep, I went there: whack.
If you want a latte with an extra shot, it's the price of a latte (2.50) plus the price of an espresso (2.00). 4.50 for a latte (not a large one, not the best one)? Nope, nope, no thanks.
Most coffee places have an "add extra shot: 0.50"-type option...the shot doesn't get charged as an additional full drink. Sure, yes, Starbucks does this (their "extra shot" is extremely reasonable) but, before you argue: they're the big, corporate guys, well... the little independent guy adopts this pricing structure, too (see: independent coffee shop around the corner from work).
Constructive criticism, typed with love, Petit A! No more 4.50 lattes for me, thanks. read more
