Communication is so important. I feel that can be lost with not having a direct number at the clinic.

Attentive vets that really listen to you and make sure your pup is comfortable. Does seem a little pricey... but the quality's there.

Three weeks ago our million-year-old cat suddenly went blind, and the good folks there were not only able to see him immediately, they also accommodated our requests for a fairly minimal treatment plan to bring his blood pressure down (and Mr. Kitty's vision came back the next day! See photo in which his pupils are no longer the size of Jupiter). Special thank you to the overnight vet assistant Fox who's not only one of the most interesting, knowledgeable, and compassionate individuals you could encounter in a time of crisis, but is also medically capable of helping both humans and animals, so if you happen to keel over while waiting for Fluffykins to get seen you're in good hands! I hope they pay him double! Seriously appreciate the exceptional care he gave to Kitty (and to his panicked owners). Now let's talk about these reviews complaining about the cost. Yes, this is an emergency vet facility that's going to start by giving you the most comprehensive treatment plan possible for your pet, because presumably you love them and want them to stay alive, and the fact that you're there at all means that things are not on the up-and-up. When we were quoted $15k two years ago to try keeping Mr. Kitty alive after his bladder almost exploded from a urethra blockage I was definitely contemplating selling my organs. But, and please hear me on this, everyone there has been more than accommodating each time to work out a plan to reduce the cost while focusing on the biggest needle-movers, while also being realistic about the risks. If you don't like the price tag then have a conversation. The people here truly want to help! TL;DR this place is great, highly recommend.

VEG saved my dog's life!!!…read more My dog, Emma, was getting very sick very fast, when my vet recommended taking her to a hospital for 24 hour fluids and monitoring of her kidneys. I took her to VEG, and the experience here was nothing short of exceptional. To start, checking in was like going to a real hospital. When we walked in, she was immediately triaged by the vet and techs. They talked me through their process, recommendations and provided pricing for total transparency. All of this took place on the open floor, so I could stay with my dog through it all which was comforting. They also let me know that we were welcome to stay as long as we wanted and even stay the night, which was an incredible offer. My dog ended up needing to stay for 4 days, which was scary and stressful, but we felt so much more comfortable leaving her there because we knew she was getting the best care. Everyday we received progress update calls from the vet. We also got to stay and sit with Emma for as long as we wanted each day, where we got to witness how much everyone truly cares for all their pet patients. Honestly, the amount of love shown to every person and pet was moving. When Emma finally turned the corner to safely bring her home, the staff literally rolled out a red carpet so everyone could clap and say goodbye. It still brings a tear to my eye that they did that for her. I am so grateful to everyone at VEG for taking amazing care of my baby, but an extra special shoutout has to go to Emma's nurse Mary. She was so kind, open, gentle and loving with Emma. The love Mary showed us all will never be forgotten. Thank you VEG for making the hospital process so transparent, for everyone's hard work, and for making our baby healthy again

I suggest anyone that feels blindsided or unsure about any kind of life-altering medication or surgical procedure, to take their time. It is your choice as to how to approach things. It is tough here to get consistent care because you need to schedule with a vet that you like. Dr Buscema, has been helpful and a good communicator. The technicians were Andrea, Roxan, and Lily. The procedures went well and my dog has recovered very well. This surgery was a precise surgical procedure because they shaved her eyelids. They then removed the cyst and added stitches. There are of course no guarantees as to how your pet will respond to treatment. I had also requested a callback about other testing and did receive a phone callback, this was appreciated and helpful. Sometimes as pet owners we have to take time to understand things. Keep in mind these people work very hard long hours. Absolutely horrible customer service and communication…read more I brought my dog in and was told the wait would be approximately 1-2 hours. I understand completely that this is an emergency facility and that critically ill animals have to be seen first. That is NOT what I am upset about. I sat there for 2 1/2 hours without anyone coming in to give me an update. Finally, I left the room myself and asked how much longer it was going to be. Only then did someone come back and tell me that several critical cases had come in and it would now be ANOTHER FIVE HOURS. So basically, had I not gotten up and asked, I could have continued sitting there for who knows how long with absolutely no communication. I had already rearranged my entire day based on the original 1-2 hour estimate, and I am traveling tomorrow. If someone had simply come in when the situation changed and said, "We've had several emergencies come in and unfortunately your wait is now going to be several more hours," I could have made other arrangements much earlier. Instead, no one bothered to tell me. To make matters worse, they suggested another veterinary clinic where I could take my dog. I called that clinic, only to find out they didn't even have a veterinarian there yet. So after wasting 2 1/2 hours at Thrive, I then had to find a THIRD facility myself where my dog could actually be seen. I completely understand prioritizing critically ill animals. What I do not understand is leaving a client sitting in a room for hours without communicating that the wait has changed dramatically, and then directing them somewhere that isn't even in a position to see their pet. A five-minute conversation could have prevented this entire situation. Emergencies are unavoidable. Terrible communication and customer service are not. I will not return.

I was asked to authorize or decline CPR and an intensive care evaluation. We authorized the evaluation but not CPR. A little while later the vet came to let us know what the evaluation showed and she was so thorough and kind, explained the possible causes of seizures and potential treatment plans. They kept our pup overnight to monitor for more seizures, give her IV fluids, etc. We brought her home today. I have a medical background and I found the care was excellent, appropriate and the communication was great. I received 3 calls from the various vets on duty and each time they were informative and kind. My regular vet had already been notified within about 12 hours of admission and they called to check on us. The only hesitation of have is the cost of services. It seems very expensive. Medication that they provided when we took the pup home cost $62.38 for 30 pills. The price for 120 tabs from Chewy is $25.08. I understand the cost of intensive/ER services is exorbitant in general but $2000 for a 24 hour visit is something that many people can not afford.

We initially called them when we were headed their way, to get their thoughts, and did appreciate them giving us some insight on the phone. We opted to stop in to be on the safe side. It was a bit quieter this time around, so we were able to get in a room right away and seen relatively quickly. It was a very much a "Got to rule out the options" type situation that required a bit more guesswork. Based on the initial intake, they recommended a blood panel, a SNAP panel (bloodwork specifically for ticks), X-rays and possible CT. We decided to start with the bloodwork, to minimize putting our dog through more procedures than necessary. They also have a relatively quick turn around time of 20-30 minutes for the results, making it easy to proceed if necessary. The tech we spoke with was nice, but a little brisk and not super helpful which inquiring on the next steps/options. She did mention a CT may be required and was helpful in getting prices and options for same day if needed. We did get the blood work results back, about an hour later, and Dr. Robinson came to speak with us, with a good news, bad news sitch. He had gotten an infection from a tick and his body was having trouble clotting and fighting it off, hence the nosebleed. She did a great job explaining and laying out all the details. Luckily, it was in the treatable phase and she ran through the prescriptions and care that would be required and let us know they would bring back the medication and Roni shortly. About an hour plus later...they bring him back, His nose had not stopped bleeding the entire time! Not their fault, it was uncontrollable, and they attempted, but was just not really treatable. We ended up spending about 4 1/2 hours there, most of that time which was not with our dog. All the initial exams and what not I understand, but getting the results and talking to the doctor, and still waiting another hour after the fact, seemed longer than necessary and we just felt bad for our pup, because we would have rather been with our dog waiting, then him in the back while waiting alone. A few other key details: It's $190 regardless for your pet to be examined, which you need to pay up front. Any other services, you pay for if you decide to proceed. They have two entrances, one for cats and one for dogs. it leads to the same space, but has separate sides to the same counter which is nice. The Dr recommended Nexgard (Tick treatment), which they do not have onsite, we had inquired if we could order from Chewy digitally, they said yes, but turns out they cannot. They do send home a paper prescription, but something to keep in mind or double check on. Overall, very grateful they figured out what was wrong and took care of him. The space was clean and staff was overall friendly. Their prices seem reasonable as well. A bit more communication would have been appreciated, especially regarding time, or at least updates so we knew he was okay and maybe a bit more guidance on what treatments make the most sense. They do a great job and though I hope you never need to go to the emergency vet, they are a great 24 hour accessible options.
