I turned to the short hispanic or Mexican lady about and she gave me total attitude. I informed her that the chicken salad was outdated and when we're they going to remove it and put out fresh chicken salad. She proceeded to say "she dont know". I asked her " what do you mean, you dont know". Do you not work in the deli after all you are behind the counter". She again answered, "i dint know". So i said i will contact the Inspector to come in and see that the chicken is outdated. The workers have gotten lazy and tgeir attitude with some of them as this lady, attitude is terrible and unprofessional. I will from now on, shop somewhere else and spend my hard working money.

Thank You Thursday Review…read more Evergreen Park Farmers Market is one of my favorite places.  Open Thursdays from 7 am to 1 pm -  May thru October, I sure miss them from November thru April! My favorite vendor is Dotson Farm, where I purchase herbs and flowers for my garden in May/June. A variety of vegetables are enjoyed throughout the season. They just opened up another parking lot across the street because the amount of traffic that is in out the small lot they had attached to the store. They do have some great clearance deals on veggies but make sure you check them very well because it maybe better to pay full price if you aren't using that produce that same or next day. I bought some tomatoes for a party and was very happy with the price but the party was 3 days away and by then I was having a funeral for my poor little tomatoes and all their friends because they were molded and seeping juice. It was disgusting! I'm not blaming the store they had it on clearance for a reason. I know many people are a fan of the their meats but I'm not I don't like pork chops, chicken, turkey that is frozen and then I pay for the weight of the ice and my meat. I wish I could find a real meat market but I digress. I also like that sell peppers separately so that I can choose which one I want instead of it being prepackaged. Sometimes it maybe a language barrier with some of the employees, but I haven't found one employee from the parking lot to the cashier who has not been very nice each time I shop here. Aldi has a lot of items for the home also. Some of the nicer items fly off the shelves. After shopping for the grocery items I came in the store for, I enjoy exploring the isles. Found a George Forman grill years ago that still works good. Found a Columbia throw blanket that the grand-babies love. A couple of my family members have found nice sturdy lawn chairs. My favorite Aldis find is the crab dip. I have recommended it to others who have used it for entertaining. I also love the surprises I find.

My only minor concern was that I didn't know to meet up with the delivery person, her husband, at an alternative location right around the corner from their address on Yelp and Google. I took everything apart to grab a few pictures, and it smelled really fresh and chocolatey. I am excited to go ham later on tonight. It felt nice supporting a small local business that's also Black owned. Updating my review: the treats were delicious, and I loved that the breakable heart had Ghirardelli chocolates and Lindt truffles inside -- my favorites. The chocolate covered strawberries were generously coated with delicious chocolate, sprinkles and edible glitter. Today was my very first time visiting this store. First impression?...WOW! What an excelent…read moreselection of all things. The main reason I wanted to submit a review of this store is due to wonderful customer service. I met Katie today and can immediately tell she knew her stuff. But the rock star of my first visit was Sharon. Talk about someone who is very kind, knowledgable, passionate, and extremely thorough with explaining in a way to allow you to make the best decision for your situation, she covers all bases. She provided names of other staff members to ask for on my next visit as she is only in the store a couple days a week. I saw the owner, also providing focused customer service to someone. People, please understand, doctors, especially new young doctors are not being trained to fix your medical issues, but only to provide medication to help you live with your health issues. My new doctor's office is a couple blocks from Southtown Health Foods and I know for a fact, after every doctor visit will be followed with a visit to Southtown. Although I came in to ask about sea moss and other herbs, I think I may also consider doing my grocery shopping here as well, and yes, try a smoothie on next visit. Any store can have a vast amount of product, but the knowledge and kind customer care is what will keep me coming back to Southtown from now on. Southtown Health Foods has a pretty okay variety. Maybe is more expensive than it should be but the service is usually better than expected. They're known for the juice bar as well as produce and supplements. Coming here on a weekend isn't recommended because it's usually crazy. It's got pretty limited hours because it closes early. The only bad thing about it other than the high prices. Even so there were a few good finds. It's about $10 for a cup of the fresh juice which they make on site. Certainly it's excellent. The prices are just too much at times. You can find a few okay prices on vitamins. It's about $12 for certain supplements. There's also a pretty great selection of vegan items like pies and other things. Has a lot of things worth looking around for here. It's closed Sundays. There's lots of foods and supplements for vegans and vegetarians.

That said, it feels smaller than other Whole Foods, and the selection can be hit or miss. I've gone in looking for specific items more than once and walked out empty-handed. The prepared foods are decent, but nothing that really stands out, especially for the price. Staff is generally friendly, though service can feel a bit stretched during busy hours. Overall, it's a convenient neighborhood Whole Foods, but not one I'd go out of my way for.
