Every time I come to South Florida i ask for Haitian food to expand my palette and no one ever indulges me. I came to Palm Beach for Christmas and since I don't eat almost any traditional American holiday foods, i had to fend for myself on Uber Eats. I'm a super huge griot fan but saw this place has tassot cabrit (listed as fried goat on the menu) and decided to roll the dice. For sides i got djon djon (black mushroom rice) and macaroni and an extra serving of pikliz. OMG... i think i wanna eat tassot cabrit everyday now. It's so flavorful and perfectly textured. Fried just the right amount to not be dry. I didn't like that there were a lot of bare bones included in my portion size tho. I've always heard (from Haitians) that djon djon is the best rice of any culture, and while it's still jollof for me, I've tried black rice (djon djon) from about 5 different places and this is by far the best I've had so far. I can see why Haitians have the bias for sure! The macaroni... Blah. They should've put their cultural purple mac on the menu instead of their attempt at the African American version. The pikliz was a very huge disappointment to me. I ordered extra because it's a topping that i think deserves to go on everything i ever eat and I've never had a bad version... until today. They really just shredded some cabbage and poured vinegar on it and put it in a cup. read more

This is a review for the food truck only, which was located at Lake Lytal Park in West Palm Beach for the Bitter Lax Festival in January. First, I am just glad this food truck was at the event as the location had no food vendors besides this truck. The truck sold a few items including Rib and Chicken Sandwiches, Chicken Wings, and beverages. I ordered a chicken sandwich and all I can say is that it was the strangest chicken sandwich I have ever had. You see, the "sandwich" wasn't really a sandwich at all. It was cut up chicken on the bone with a piece of white bread on the top. There was actually a healthy portion of chicken. Some of the chicken was tender and tasty but some of it was dry. The barbecue sauce was good. I just wasn't expecting messy chicken on the bone when I ordered a chicken sandwich! The guys working at the truck were very nice and they did a great job at getting the food out quickly. They had the a great little helper, a little girl who was a natural salesperson. I've ordered Pete's a few times through ubereats out to my home out west. It's been AMAZING every time. The ribs are awesome, with like a Georgia/Florida BBQ mixed with Caribbean flavor. Real good. And the sauce, omg I would literally drink it. I've also had pulled pork and pulled chicken sandwiches, which are not really sandwiches but more of a HUGE portion of meat with a couple slices of bread, and I wouldn't want it any other way. As far as sides, the collards are vinegary, and salty, really nice and soft but not mushy. Throw some crystal hot sauce on there and they become magic. The baked beans are really good as well. Okay, so let me say they have the greatest idea for the "try before you buy" concept. We called and asked about closing time and what kind of rice they had available. Customer service was 'meh'. We pulled up into the drive thru and asked to try both the yellow and black rice. There was this water added to the rice, cause it wasn't sauce. Which shouldn't have been added without asking me. Listen whoever is claiming to be Haitian in the kitchen cooking that rice honey, please STOP. That is rice, water, coloring and salt. Not Haitian rice. I had a brisket sandwich and my dad did pulled pork, loved both and the Mac n cheese too! Flew in tonight from Connecticut, stopped by this place cause it looked good and sounded good but was a disappointment, everything was older ,a heat up and warm ,macaroni was so dry it was dusty,I expected sliced smoked brisket and they gave me some beef that was pulled into strings like pulled pork,then put BBQ sauce all over the brisket like I really wanted BBQ sauce on my brisket, my girlfriend got the pulled pork and and they soaked that in BBQ sauce as well and you really couldn't taste the difference in the pork or the brisket with the BBQ sauce over powering both meats,I expected fresh food and only thing that was fresh on the whole plate was the bread ,totally garbage and I seen cars pulling up in this place like it was good place,I'm from Connecticut and I'm also a chef been in kitchens 25 years and this place was a disgrace to BBQ pit masters around the world,wouldn't feed that shit to my dogs and no way was I letting my 2 year old kid eat any of it ,pure garbage read more
