Was in the mood for soul food so I decided to try this place. Upon walking in I told the lady at…read morethe counter this was my first time so she let me know that it's soul food served Chipotle style .. hm interesting! So for the soul bowl I had a choice of cornbread, rice , 2 sides & a protein so I chose regular cornbread , yellow rice , mac & cheese & yams with the fried chicken. That's quite a lot of starch but it was worth it! The fried chicken was pretty good, the mac was cheesy though it had a slightly burnt taste ( maybe because it's the end of the night ) and the yams were pretty good. There was no more peach cobbler so I tried the strawberry cake & that was tasty & homemade. I wanted to try the home made lemonades but there was no more. I paid $27 for the soul bowl & cake. I think instead of 3 sides the bowl should come with 2 sides & more protein. Would try this restaurant again!

There's a soul food place on Barack Obama that is good and prices are very reasonable, food portions are as well. They should really look at how they're over charging customers. Also they are not very friendly. The cook talked harsh about orders he had too make. No one greeted the guest as they entered and everyone just had a nasty frown. No smiles at all. Just nit a warm environment.

I ordered the Mac and Cheese, Rice & Peas, and Green Beans, and every bite tasted like true home-cooking. * The Mac and Cheese is creamy, cheesy, and perfectly baked -- comfort food at its finest. * The Rice & Peas are seasoned just right, full of flavor without being heavy. * And the Green Beans? Delicious, tender, and clearly made with love. But the real surprise? Their homemade desserts. The cake is moist and rich, and the sweet potato pie tastes like something straight out of Grandma's kitchen -- warm, sweet, and full of that nostalgic spice. The dining room is designed to allow guests who want to sit down and eat to do it comfortably without feeling overwhelmed by those doing takeout. feFriendly service, generous portions, and flavors that keep you coming back... Off Tha Bone BBQ nailed it. Whether you're veggie or just craving comfort food done right, this spot is a must-try!

The music was so loud that I couldn't understand what the person waiting on me was saying. And I'm not hard of hearing. I asked a couple of times if the music could be turned down. After a while the person waiting on me turned the music down. The person waiting on me was nice. I just think that a person ordering food shouldn't be overwhelmed by the volume of music played in a restaurant. It was ridiculously loud.

There's extra vegetables in the dishes. The macaroni salad was to die for. The herbs were right on. The peas and rice were so tasty. I had to hold back from eating more and filling up. Complementary fried plantains were added to the order. The jerk chicken was incredibly tender and there was spicy sauce on the side, added to the chicken. We had not eaten oxtails before. Go figure! They were so Tender and falling off the bone. The sauce was excellent with added carrots and butter beans. So good. Can't wait to go back and try other dishes they offer. Service: Very friendly and attentive. Most people seem to order and carry out. We chose to eat in and they went out out of their way to make us feel comfortable. Ambience: Again, it's more of a carryout restaurant, but the restaurant itself is very clean and inviting. When I go back, I would like to sit down and eat in the restaurant with its colorful decor and reggae playing on the speakers again. Really enjoyed eating there and watching people go in and out with their takeout orders.

I followed my coworker to this Jamaican restaurant for lunch--and let me start with a disclaimer: if you plan on being productive after eating here, don't. Just take the rest of the day off now. I ordered the $10 fried chicken lunch special with extra gravy, rice and peas, and macaroni salad and washed it down with a pineapple ginger juice. Baby... I was FULL full. The kind of full where your laptop starts looking optional. I was overworked, overfed, and ready to slam my laptop shut and resume life Monday morning. The food was so good and so filling that I didn't even eat dinner that night. I had a cup of tea and went straight to bed--peacefully and without regret. All jokes aside, the food is excellent. Authentic Caribbean cooking, fresh, flavorful, and made with love--the kind that tastes like your Caribbean mother or grandmother cooked it herself. The service was wonderful, and the portions are generous. Whether you order a regular entrée or a lunch special, you will leave satisfied. Check them out--just don't say I didn't warn you. If you eat this for lunch, you are not working the rest of the day.
