We were walking from the north end after getting fresh pastries from an amazing shop ( See my other Boston reviews) when we saw a small historical sign explaining the history of North Bennet Street School. It was bustling as we curiously peered in. As we continue to walk up to the corner where we spot a sign for an open house at the school. We immediately turned around and went back. The lobby and staff were so welcoming! They got us checked in and answered a few of my questions. They gave us a low down and a map. Each area had us exploring and listening to the enthusiasm spilling from the students. It was really interesting and inspiring. Each presentation was so specialized and well organized. We spent a good chunk of time learning about the complexity of pianos, paper making, hand bound books, architecture and more! Another highlight was talking to an older gentleman who was a first year silver smith ( yes it was super cool) who was putting the finishing touches on a ring just as we walked by. He took the time to show us all of the steps from a rod of silver to the dazzling finished ring!!!! My feedback is that they should a season or two of web series showing their talents to the world. It would also be a great STEM connection for education. So many talents and interesting people in the area. Highly recommended. I'd love to attend a class or two here!

The admissions committee ghosted my student after they completed all the admissions requirements in time for the priority deadline. My student received an email confirming their materials were submitted in time for the priority deadline. Following an interview, there was no notification of acceptance, rejection or placement on a wait list. Zero. Weeks went by, and then months. My student sent emails to follow up, including to the admissions director. Crickets. We parents also contacted the admissions office and director to ask about our student's application. No response to very polite emails and calls. At one point, we got a human on the phone at the admissions office who seemed to be reading from a script, saying they were reviewing applications and would reach out if they needed more info. Six months have passed since the priority application deadline. Still no word -- except that they have the nerve to keep contacting my student with marketing materials. So, clearly they have accurate contact info. Even highly selective Harvard communicates with all applicants to let them know if they're in or out. Yet, NBSS can't get its act together to offer applicants the courtesy of sending a timely rejection email. There is something seriously wrong, in my opinion, with an artisan and trade school that charges $30K a year but treats prospective applicants and families in this manner. In my view, it's a big red flag, and I'd be curious to know if others have had similar experiences.

CLASSES: BACE offers Adult Education Classes, taking visitors behind the scenes of zoo exhibits. MY FAVE CLASS: GIRAFFE SCHOOL... You get to feed "Beau" the giraffe by hand! Gorilla School was not nearly as exciting, but you do learn a lot about the personalities of each gorilla resident of this Boston Zoo. They also offer a Big Cats Class as well. THE DEAL: Go with a friend, so you can take photos of each other, and video your "behind the scenes" experience.

Before joining this program I had done my research and emailed the school to find out more information. One important factor I needed information for was if this program would help if I chose to work in pediatrics. Of course the answer was yes. Lie! For the little assignments we completed pediatrics was not covered in any topic. The schedule was set up to be 3 days a week 4 hours each day including the hands on module which followed this schedule except was opposite days of the online portion. The instructor Westley Ellis would take away from our learning time problem dumping his life problems on to us students. Quite a few times class was cancelled because Westley forgot he had to teach class. How do you forget about your job? During each module the assignments and grades were posted, but once the next module started all previous work completed along with proof of grades was deleted. There was no access for this. If you had any problem regarding your assignments or the website Cengage you were to contact Cengage because Westley never had an answer. Everything we needed for a job was supposed to be included. CPR course and either the school's choice for an externship or a medical facility of your own choice. When it came time to take the CPR course I had to pay out of pocket for the course and only one location was available in downtown Boston. Having one location available wasn't very do-able so I had to find my own CPR course. When I had asked Westley about other CPR locations being available he had told me that was the only option. There were many problems with this program and every time I had a question I would ask Westley as he was the instructor for this. He told me to ask David who I had signed on with, and guess what, he told me to talk with Westley. it was a continuous back and forth with both of them with talk to him, no talk to him and never getting an answer. For employees to work at this job for a few decades they really aren't knowledgeable in their career. One of the main problems during this program was that I chose my own externship. My externship offered to take me in earlier than the course end date, so of course I jumped for that opportunity and reached out to Westley and David for their approval of starting my externship early. This was a fight for weeks to be able to get an answer of what I could do. There excuse for me not starting early was that I had missing work and my grades weren't good. I had an A in every part of the program and all of work had been completed. The owner Song Jin had to provide me my own transcript which proved my grades and my finished assignments. When it came time to receive my certificate, it took weeks when I was supposed to receive it "within 30 days of completion" so I was told, but another student was told via text by Westley once they had finished the course they would receive their certificate the next day. 42 days later I was still looking for my certificate. I had to go in person in order to get things rolling and have "papers processed" in order for me to have my certificate. When trying to get my certificate I was then told to talk with Song Jin who seemed to be just as confused and was also not really helpful. Adding on to everything being included, I was told that there was not going to be a state exam. It seemed odd but I went with it, "they knew best." At the very end as I was starting my externship I was informed by another student that a state exam was needed. I had asked Westley where I could go to take the exam, and his words were "google it." He said via text that some jobs would need you to take the exam there at work online. A certificate of COMPLETION is not good enough. A job wants you to be certified before hiring you. 3 months after me completing the program and starting my externship I finally received my certificate after continuously reaching out. Oh and they stopped providing 1098-T for tax documents. They did have them about 7-8 years ago. They go through a TFC bank and when I had asked them for my 1098, they said to call the school and they will have all of the information you need. I would NEVER recommend this school/program. A waste of time and money. If you decide to join just be prepared that you: This school is very unprofessional and needs to be shut down. 1. Need to find your own CPR course. 2. It's best if you choose your own externship site. 3. You will need to take a state exam find a place yourself and pay it out of your own pocket. 4. Don't bother asking any questions to anybody as they don't know. 5. Be prepared to hear more about Westley's life problems than learning. 6. Don't expect going into job you learned what you were supposed to. Start teaching yourself and doing your own research on medical topics.

She was quick to acknowledge the way VT fell down in this case, rectified the situation by working with my chosen non-profit to donate the hours I had paid for, and offered a complementary 10-hour bundle in the event I needed them personally in the future. Hopefully her "can-do" atittude can be further disseminated through the company's front line customer service management and staff. I revise my rating to a four-star in the hopes the remaining star will be incentive for the company to not make Elise's reaction a one-off... Dishonest company that started off great and ended up horribly. I paid north of $6k for a number of tutoring hours in advance based on the recommendation of their consultant. A large portion of those hours went unused and were set to expire. I called and got them extended for another year, or so I was told. In the end, by about December '21, it became clear I was not going to use them and I called and asked the company to facilitate a donation of those hours to a student in need. Not only did they never recontact me about my request despite a promise to do so, but the hours then "expired" again without warning. I called them today and they refused to reinstate them, facilitate the donation, or provide any other remedy. A sad story of misleading statements and lack of vision/service. Buyer beware -- do not buy anything more than you absolutely need from this company because you are likely to lose the money you put in. There are many other options for online tutoring (Wyzant, for example) where the terms and service are much more straightforward.

Please read a lot of reviews before choosing a dental center and a dentist to make sure you receive the care that you deserve. Take your oral health seriously and don't take risk. Go elsewhere, somewhere that you find good reputation, skill, and professional care. A big name (Harvard) does not bring any value here. It is the reputation and professionalism that matters.

After meeting with her, explaining how shy and anxious my kid is, she wrote him off within 5 mins for not being enthusiastic enough about going to a tutor and said Fusion could not help. (He succeeded no problem at another place last year, I just wanted a shorter drive and thought Fusion's website looked good). During the 2 tours she gave, she loudly proclaimed the silent area was no talking, completely disrupting the students that were there at the time. She demonstrated her agenda was more important than the students. She seems completely disingenuous about the school's stated goals and exceptionally rigid about how kids should be. I love Fusion. I have a daughter that is academically advanced but socially challenged. (High…read morefunctioning autism/ 2E) She started kinder early at 4 and then skipped 5th grade. She simply loves learning and while in traditional private schools was bored and increasingly anxious about social interaction and group work. She's been at Fusion for two years. She works 1:1 with various teachers depending on the subject and while officially in 7th again this year (we decided to have her repeat as we are worried about her being closer in age to her peers when she graduates) she was able to take HS college prep biology last year, HS zoology and psychology this year in addition to her more typical classes (English, algebra 1, French 2, and medieval history) The teachers are wonderful with her. They have a collaborative style and really keep her focused, engaged, and enthusiastic. I receive academic summaries from each teacher everyday letting me know what they covered and how she did. Looking forward to her taking science in person at the Newton campus next year so she can do the labs in person rather than virtually.
