My running boards are installed. No thanks to Peterson Lexus service department.

This review is aimed at the service department, not the sales department. We had a problem with the Lexus OEM running boards that we tried to install ourselves in our Lexus RC450. Our problem was we didn't have one of the recommended tools. The tool was a pneumatic rivnut installer. Lexus includes a non-standard type of rivnut (18 in all) that requires that tool or one like it. As a result, while we had all the nuts installed, they were not tight enough to apply proper torque on the installed bolts since we had only used a hand rivnut installer. I called up Peterson Lexus and explained the problem to Dave in service. I said with the proper tool, it should only take someone 20 or 30 minutes to tighten them up. He made an appointment and took the car down. A little while later, we get a call from Dave. He says his technician says that the rivuts are damaged, that they would have to be drilled out, and that it would take 9 hours to do that and $90 for parts. At their shop rate of $180 an hour. We were looking at a minimum of $1,710 to get them installed. I said that was ridiculous. Dave said, "I just know what the technician tells me." We picked up our car and drove directly to a body shop I had used once before. I explained my problem to a guy in the front office. He went back to the shop and got their shop manager. The shop manager came out, and looked at our problem, went back into the shop, and brought back out a tool for installing rivnuts. A short time later, the problem stoved. And they didn't even charge us, it was so easy. I would have gladly paid Peterson for an hour for work I'm sure they could have completed in 30 minutes or less. One other reason I wasn't about to let their technician touch our car was that I was told by Dave that drilling out the rivnuts would cause damage to the existing holes and that they would have to use larger rivnuts. I know that I could drill them out (because I've done it before) without enlarging the existing holes. Frankly, I don't know if their technician is totally incompetent or was just trying to see how much money they could milk us for.

I had an awesome experience with this dealership! We have purchased several cars and have many interactions, this visit stood out and was very positive. We worked with Eric, Mike, and Craig and all three were very professional, efficient, detailed and worked together to make my experience special. We drove all the way from Seattle Wa to get the car I was looking for, and I showed up with a beautiful red bow on top just like in the commercials They were all very personable, gave excellent service and made sure we didn't leave until we were 10/10 satisfied. I absolutely recommend this dealership and would gladly drive all the way back to continue to do business with them.

Better yet if you're going to buy a Toyota go to Edmark. I'm genuinely so sad to be leaving a bad review for this dealership. Our salesman (who has since retired) was great to work with. My disappointment started when I was told the car would be cleaned before the sale was finished, when we got the keys and started moving cars I noticed the car either hadn't been cleaned or who ever does the cleaning for them absolutely sucks. After a few weeks of having the car we drove it up to McCall area for the first time. Coming down the hill the car began to violently shutter when the breaks were being applied. So much so it scared me and my kids, we immediately schedule for the car to be taken into the service department. We were told that the rotors were so warped they could not be fix and we needed a full replacement of the rotors and pads. When we explained to the service department we had just purchased the car they referred us to the sales department. My husband did a majority of the talking with them, he explained the situation and hoped the sales manager would have some constructive advice or be helpful in some way. Boy was he wrong. Aaron the sales manager sent an email to my husband suggesting that WE had damaged the rotors to this extend and that the rotors were fine when we purchased the car. I went down to speak with Aaron and he said the same thing, I even asked "are you suggesting the rotors were fine when we purchased the car?" he said yes. He informed me they just go off what the service department says and sent me that way. The "service" department is nothing far from a joke. They gave me the run around and suggested that because he waved the diagnostic fee "since you just got the car" that he was doing me a favor. I fully understand the rotors being warped can't be visually seen but to suggest I did this to the car in less than 30 days and 1,000 miles was absolutely rude. Then he follows it up with offering me a free car wash... I learned 30 days ago they can't wash cars so why the hell would I bring my car back here?! Especially after the insulted me saying I did this damage. Honestly I've heard things about the service department here before but decided to give them the benefit of the doubt... don't do that! Based on this interaction I'm not even convinced the rotors were that bad and now I'll be stuck wondering if I had taken them to a reputable place would they have reshaped them?

I solely purchased from a brand dealership with the expectation that it would be safe and reliable. Unfortunately, my experience after the sale has been extremely disappointing. Since purchasing the vehicle, I have experienced ongoing brake concerns that have required multiple visits to the service department. Despite explaining my concerns and bringing the vehicle back more than once, I left feeling that the issue had not been identified or resolved to my satisfaction. Because I was still concerned, I chose to have the vehicle evaluated by another mechanic before returning it to the dealership again. This time my favorite shoes were left in the loaner and were stolen from me. I called several times To ask about them thinking there may have been a mistake.... Nope the gal working in the loaner returns stole my shoes. As a customer, I found this process frustrating. When it comes to something as important as brakes, I need to feel confident that my concerns are being taken seriously and that my vehicle is safe to drive. Based on my personal experience, I no longer have that confidence. I recognize that others may have had positive experiences with this dealership, but mine has left me feeling dismissed by my request from the service department, the assistant service manager, and the manager. I am genuinely concerned about the reliability of the vehicle I purchased. My experience as a very mechanically inclined individual diagnosed my own AC problems in front of the mechanic and the service manager. The fan relay went out on the radiator and when they went to repair it, they found the motor was blown and not only that they damaged the wiring harness, so my AC also runs intermittently, but they say nothing is wrong with it. The dealership had an opportunity to inspect this vehicle, performed service immediately before sale, plus knew the vehicle's condition, and either failed to identify or failed to disclose a safety related defect. At this point, I am hoping the dealership will work with me to find a reasonable resolution, whether that means taking the vehicle back or helping me transition into a different one. This review reflects only my personal experience and opinions as a customer.
