This place is definitely the small town diner ambiance and you could tell most people knew one another. We came right at lunch and it was busy but we still only waited 5-10 min for a table. We were served right away and the server was patient with us when we changed our minds a bit choice wise. We had the special which was a chicken wrap and a turkey wrap both with soup. The food came out quickly, was fresh and the soup very flavorful! Our waters were kept full and the server was so sweet to our little girl and even gave her a special cookie treat. We had hoped to try the famous "moose farts" but they didn't have any that day sadly. So we "settled" for the chocolate dipped peanut butter cookies that will remain a staple in our minds as one of the top cookies ever! Great stop for lunch for sure!

Of course they had run out of some items by then, but that's ok - we figured ourselves out. There's a bakery store in the front; the restaurant is in the back. Lots of seating. It gets loud in there! But worth it.

When you walk in there is a door chime that sounds for the staff in the back to know when customers come in. I waited 5 mins and still no one came to the counter. I could see a guy in the back so I know SOMEONE was working there. He did not even look towards the counter during 5 minutes. So I rang the bell on the counter. No response from him at all. I waited another 5 minutes then called out to him a hello. No acknowledgement. So I rang the bell again. Still no response. I don't have time for staff that ignore paying customers, so I turned to leave. Finally after 15 minutes, he WANDERED toward the counter, I told him not to bother and left. Very disappointing experience here!

It certainly wasn't quiet but we had no difficulty having a conversation. As we finished off there were even more people waiting to get in. There are big screen TV's that featured a football game. I ordered the Cod Tacos with a side salad for $15.99. They were quite filling even though they're probably one of the lowest cost items on the menu. There is lots of parking and it's easy to find as its right on the TransCanada Highway. If you don't mind waiting for a table you'll probably enjoy a meal here. It's pretty much a chicken place (with a few exceptions such as my cod tacos) and if your okay with that then you'll find something to satisfy your hunger at Jungle Jim's.

The Chef's Board of seafood was quite good, though the "roasted vegetable of the day" was barely warm. Partridgeberry chicken was fair, with the same veggie issues as the seafood dish. The restaurant does talk about a wine list. The by-the-glass selections are all traditional offerings, as are the by-the-bottle wines. I believe there were seven reds and six whites on each side of the wine list. Prices top out at 50/bottle so. Service was pretty good, and the restaurant itself is comfortably quirky.

I travel quite a bit across Canada and the United States and when I hear that a restaurant has good wings, I generally try to go by and check them out. This place had good ratings and I can concur with those good ratings. I ordered the wings with the Caribbean Jerk dry rub and a garden salad. First of all, my garden salad was well prepared with a variety of fresh vegetables and a three cheese blend that made it very tasty. Let me tell you about the wings - these things were awesome.
