Hi- I'm new to foot/ankle injuries. Dr. Patel and Dr. Suh helped me understand my first injury; it…read morewas a grade 2 ankle injury sprain. They were very courteous. I was able to talk with each of them for about 5-10 minutes per appointment. They seemed to be in a rush. I went to them for a second opinion, and they answered my questions and confirmed my self diagnosis. :::Appointment Experience::: My appointments lasted for about 30-40 minutes. Most of the time was spent with nurses. They were courteous and knowledgeable enough to answer most of my health questions, but I did not like the fact they had no straightforward answers for my financial/cost inquiries. They kept providing services, saying "we'll need to do this...we'll need to do that...", and whenever I asked how much something would cost they would say, "we'll know after it comes back from the billing department first". After confirming my self diagnosis was accurate, I decided to cancel the 3rd, 4th, and 5th scheduled appointments and check-ups. :::Expenses::: Below, I list my expenses: 1. Appointments with Dr. Patel --- $206.00 (two appointments, Day 1 and Day 2, four days apart) 2. 3 X-ray Ankle views --- $110.00 3. 3 X-ray Foot views --- $110.00 (this was unnecessary because Dr. Patel said it was an ankle issue, but the nurse went ahead and did it anyway) 4. Casting Short Leg Walker --- $464.00 (unnecessary considering severity of the injury and it was only used for 4 days) 5. Appointment with Dr. Suh --- $135.00 (Day 2, repeated information provided by Dr. Patel on Day 1, no new information) 6. Walker Brace Aircast --- $215.00 (this is $60 sold on Amazon, the nurse said she did not know how much it would cost and she did not clarify that I had purchased it. She said "you'll need to wear it temporarily", and when I asked when I need to return it she said, "when you're done". :::Payment::: I have delayed my bill payment for over a year. I called the office/insurance company about 3-4 times to see what expenses I could remove. I was able to remove expense #3 in result, but nothing else. I'm making my payment now (a year later). About 19% of the total charges was covered by my insurance. In total I paid about $915.40 for my two appointments. :::Summary::: During my appointments, I felt the nurses and doctors did not communicate well with each other. Either that is the case, or they purposefully added inessential services to increase the amount of money they can charge, (from me and from my insurance company), which would be a shame. I wouldn't not recommend these Podiatrists, but I do encourage new patients to ask questions and be 100% sure what they will be paying for before accepting any service in the building. This will ensure patients will have a fair treatment as well as get a quality start in their recovery journey.

It's a…read morenonprescription, over-the-counter medication which I planned to pick up on the way home but she just happens to sell one of these products named Formula 7. I found it odd and somewhat ethically questionable to sell products (the appearance of impropriety) but she's the professional so I trusted her advice and purchased it from her. When I got home, I did an Amazon search for similar products (the only active ingredient is a 1% solution of tolnaftate) and discovered many products priced around $2 per ounce. The Formula 7 was $45 for HALF an ounce! Holy crap! I went to the office to return the Formula 7 but they washed their hands of it, telling me to contact the manufacturer. Yeah. Like that's going to work, considering the fact that I hadn't used it yet. Dead end. Irresponsible and unfair. Did I mention the fact that she splayed my toes and told me, without taking any measurements, that I needed wide shoes? Well, I may be wrong, but 70 years and 15 pairs of shoes in normal width with no blisters, callouses, corns or other issues would tend to contradict that assessment. Did I also mention she also sells shoes? Do yourself a big favor and use your feet to take you elsewhere.
