I explained to the doctor that I have been following all of the recommendations given to me, but that my pain has continued to significantly affect my ability to sleep and function. I mentioned that I had taken tramadol in order to sleep and asked if there were any alternative medications or treatment options that could help manage my pain. At no point was I asking for opioids. In fact, I clarified this multiple times. However, the doctor repeatedly responded by saying, "We don't prescribe opioids here," without acknowledging or addressing what I was actually asking. The interaction became increasingly dismissive and uncomfortable. The doctor abruptly stood up, left the room, handed my chart off to staff without speaking to me further, and walked away while I was still trying to understand the plan moving forward. When I said "Thank you, doctor," the response I received was simply "hmmm" before he continued walking away. I fully respect medical boundaries and understand concerns regarding opioid prescriptions. However, I do not believe any patient should be made to feel judged, dismissed, or stigmatized simply for discussing ongoing pain and asking for help exploring alternatives. I came to this appointment looking for guidance and support regarding a painful condition that has been affecting my daily life for weeks. Instead, I left feeling unheard and humiliated.

She verified my information and took me in after checking in the next person behind me. The service was fast, efficient and courteous. I do this review because I have been going to various locations of Summit Medical Group for 20+ years and for over 20 years the service has been spectacular. I started with them when my son was about 2 years old at their Short Hills location. I've used theirs Urgent Care, After hour Doctors, internal Medicine, Labs, Radiology, Gynecology, Podiatry, Orthopedics, Endocrinology, and a host of other specialties. Throughout the years I have had more memorable/pleasant experiences then unpleasant. I hate getting blood drawn and have 1 good, visible vain, but the staff always seem to put be at ease. The young lady today was more than great at her job (Shame on me for not getting her name, but she's been there for a few years), she was very professional and personable; it's because of people like her that Summit Medical Group is such a growing success. She not only provided stellar service, but World Class service. Not to mention the facilities and restrooms are always clean. So if you are seeking A great Medical Practice you may want to look at Summit Medical, they have so mNy locations Morristown, Florham Park, West Orange, Livingston, Berkeley Heights, WestField, Warren and some that I don't even know about, but they have worked for me. Truthfully I've only had 1 unpleasant experience in 20+ years and it's not worth writing about, because in this case the good truly outweighs the bad.

My kid threw up in the car on the way to our appointment causing us to be almost a half hour late, but I didn't have to cancel my appointment. I showed up and was in a room within less than 10 minutes. I would definitely recommend this place. Play area and stickers for the kids add a nice touch too!
