The front desk check in was easy and the staff who work here on the front desk and the nurses who take the preliminary checks do their jobs thorough and pretty well. The Doctor is super friendly and knowledgeable with pleasant bedside manners. She asks the right questions to take the conversation in a proper direction and listens to all the queries in a patient manner. The location has ample parking space and the doctor's office is located on the left side level 1 as you enter the building.

The wait times vary from not bad to OMG I might as well wait for the second coming of Jesus at this point, but it's a doctor's office, so you gotta grin (or not) and bear it. Magazine selection sucks eel testicles. No entertainment magazines, all health related jargin. There was an mag with a column titled "Food Porn" but it did not butter my roll (pun...not...intended). I was expecting something more erotic :P Anyway, as my primary care I won't split hairs-the three docs are very personal, informative, and remember shit you told them from last visits even when not staring at a computer screen. The staff was extremely friendly and caring and able to understand what my needs were. I am new to this practice, and they came highly recommended. I saw Dr. Andrzej Torbus, he is very through, kind, and genuinely interested in what my concerns were. I saw him two tImes, the first was to get familiar with the practice, and get recommendations and referrals to other specialist in my plan. The second visit was for medical clearance, I am having knee surgery. Both times Dr. Torbus walked in happy and smiling, and I never felt rushed. He put me at ease, and answered all of my questions. He was able to recommend routine yearly exams that I needed to have since I was a little behind. This practice is part of Atlantic Health System. Most of my information was already in their system. Dr. Torbus could see some of my previous records and dates. All I had to do was update my insurance information. The process was very easy. I love that they have an online system called "My Chart." You sign in and can access all of your medical records, tests, appointments,that are part of Atlantic Health,and even send an email directly to the doctor and his staff. Any other doctor associated with Atlantic Health System that I've seen will also be in "My Chart." This practice is located alittle down from the center of town in Warren. . There is also free parking in their lot. There are rows and rows of medical buildings up and down Mountain Ave. RT 22 and 78 are both accessible from this office. After being seen by Dr. Chowdry (sp) yesterday, being prescribed a cough syrup (even though I never mentioned coughing as a symptom), & feeling worse today, I called the facility at ~9 AM today and the PA informed me I have to come back for another evaluation. I called from the parking lot and was told to come in. Upon entering the facility, I immediately felt dizzy, cold, & my chills intensified. Within minutes of the re-evaluation, I'm given a diagnosis and told my prescription is being sent to the pharmacy. Upon arrival at the pharmacy, I'm informed they have not received the prescription and was advised to call the provider. I did. Bonsi Patel answered the phone, informed me "The provider is busy and has not had a chance to sit down at her desk. When she has a chance, she will send in my prescription." Excuse me?! I was just there. It's an electronic process. By when should I expect to be prioritized and my medical needs to be met? In lieu of answering my questions, Bonsi Patel hung up the phone. I returned to the facility for answers. When she saw me, she looked shocked. She began trying to plead her case; but at this point, I didn't want to hear anything she had to say. I asked for a manager. I was told by someone else there was no manager on staff. I informed them someone has to be in charge and that's who I want to speak with. I spoke to Mason and he assisted me in resolving the issue and ensuring I received my prescription. I will be identifying the proper course of action and pursuing this matter further. 1/10, I do not recommend.

After speaking with someone in Family Care, I was advised to contact my insurance company to correct the billing error. I did so, and a representative from my insurance company spoke with Patty G. to try to resolve the issue. Unfortunately, he was met with resistance and felt disrespected by Patty G., who did not allow him to assist me further. He eventually advised me to speak with Patty G. directly. When I called, I also encountered immediate resistance. Patty G. was unhelpful and ultimately hung up on me. Frustrated, I went to the office in person to try to resolve the matter, but again was treated poorly. Debra came out with her arms crossed, appeared very defensive, and escorted me to the door while threatening to call the police--without giving me the opportunity to explain why I was there. I was humiliated by the treatment I received from both staff members. If I had been treated with respect and professionalism over the phone, I would not have felt the need to visit the office in person. I have been a patient with Family Care since Dr. John Chafos left Medemerge, but due to this experience, I will be seeking medical care elsewhere. I am deeply disappointed by how I was treated and feel that no patient should be made to feel this way.
