The quote was good so I signed a contract. After they got here I was asked to come out and told that they misunderstood the work and it was going to cost a lot more to have the work done. I was over a barrel and ended up agreeing to the higher price. One tree later died that they trimmed, and they left a mess - torn tree roots sticking up. I can't recommend them at all.

While driving on the highway towards Boston, my drivers side tire flew off, dinged the guard rail, and crossed two lanes of traffic and found itself into the woods. I immediately noticed a truck behind me with its lights on, and out comes Nick willing to do whatever he can to help me out. Normally people that stop on the highway behind a broken down vehicle and there for moral support to help you call whomever you need to fix things. But Nick took initiative, took my (half) tire off, helped me figure out a plan, and even took my boyfriend and I down the street to purchase a new tire at a store he and his company had an account with so I wouldn't have to wait in the cold for Triple A. The shrub work went well but the detaching job was not complete. Most of my lawn is still sporting the thatch and moss I had asked them to remove. When we discussed the quality of the detach work, the there was no offer to complete the work to my satisfaction, just excuses about the thickness of the moss/thatch. When I bid out work, I am careful to price appropriately and finish the job to my client's satisfaction. I don't think that either of those tenets were followed by Harmon and Sons. I was offered a discount on the price which I took as a quick way out, but to me, the money I gave them was wasted because I still need to pay someone else to have the work done. Overall, communications were weak once we came to agreement on scope of work and price with workers showing up without any notice. I expected more from Harmon and Sons given their reputation and recommendations from others.

I went to a couple or arborists and had varying degrees of responsiveness and price quotes. Folks from White Horse Lawn & Tree came out and were both highly responsive, extremely helpful, and awfully nice. They offered multiple applications of fungicide, at a very reasonable price. The results of their work were visible all of last Summer and I'm rebooking their services this year too. I highly recommend them. They're a great local business !
