Found my new go-to shop for everything automotive, and Joey at Bavarian Auto Repair is the reason…read morewhy. Monday morning, torrential downpour on the way to work, I drove through some high water in my 2010 Jetta. Didn't think much of it until the drive home that evening, when the car started sputtering with the check engine and EPC lights both coming on. Called Joey at 5pm and he immediately had a tow truck contact ready (Allen's 24/7 Towing, also outstanding, 20 minute response time in downtown San Antonio). Dropped the car off after hours and Joey called first thing the next morning with full diagnostics already done. He found the high water from that morning's commute had pushed into the ignition coil wells, where an existing valve cover gasket leak had already let oil pool. That combination took out a coil and fouled the plugs. No upselling, no scare tactics, just a clear explanation of what failed and why, with a straightforward repair plan: valve cover gasket, all 5 spark plugs, and the one failed coil. Communication was constant throughout, and he had it ready Wednesday just before close. Even gave me the military discount, sent me home with a thank-you note and a gift bag, and walked me through exactly what to watch for to keep this Jetta running well long-term. At 70k miles on a 2010, he made it clear this car has plenty of life left in it if maintained right and that's exactly the kind of honest, customer-first advice that earns repeat business. This is what a real repair shop should look like: transparent diagnosis, fair pricing, zero pressure, and genuine care for the customer beyond just the transaction. Joey and the team at Bavarian Auto Repair have a customer for life. Highly recommend to anyone in San Antonio looking for a mechanic they can actually trust.

I highly recommend George Garcia for your auto service needs. He is mobile and he has done work…read morethat has saved me hundred of dollars versus taking it to a dealership. He got my late mom's car running which is 41 years old and even replaced the entire ac system for less than the dealership wanted. He is so easy to work with and will quote you up front before work is done. So there are no hidden surprises. Because he is mobile if there is something he cannot do he will definitely be honest with you about it. He is a retired auto shop teacher and he definitely knows his cars. He is in high demand so if you call it might be a week or two out but he is worth the wait. Professional and honest and I will add it's also wonderful to support small business too! And let me tell you this when he replaced the flasher in my mom's 92 Toyota and it didn't work, he went back and printed out the wiring diagram for the car and highlighted the wiring system and he suggested ordering an original Toyota flasher which I did. And sure enough that's what it needed was a genuine part. Older cars definitely are finicky but I was so impressed he took the time to do all that just because of a flasher. He definitely puts a lot of heart into his work and then some. George is now our go to for any car issues we have. You won't find someone who loves their job and their customers as much as George does!

Absolutely phenomenal experience with German Car Specialists!…read moreTwo days before Thanksgiving, my BMW X5 M50i started overheating and left me stranded on the side of the highway. I called GCS in a panic and they were incredibly kind and accommodating--they told me they'd stay open until 5pm and to just drop the car in the back if I could get it there after hours. They promised they'd take care of it first thing in the morning, and they delivered 100%. They diagnosed and fixed the overheating issue the very next day, did a full oil change, and even repaired a bad oil leak that the BMW dealership had caused (and never fixed properly). Everything was done quickly, the pricing was extremely fair (way less than the dealership), and the communication throughout was outstanding. I can't say enough good things about German Car Specialists on Tradesman Dr--they saved my holiday and earned a customer for life. I'll never take my BMW back to the dealership again. GCS is simply the best: better service, faster turnaround, and significantly lower cost. Highly, highly recommend!!! Thank you GCS team--you guys are amazing!
