We returned a few days later only to find that the provider had placed the spacer on the WRONG SIDE of her mouth. Needless to say, we were not pleased that she had to go through several days of discomfort for nothing. We immediately decided that we would get care elsewhere. The office told us there would be no NO CHARGES for her care. They "pretended" to be sorry for their mistake. Although I was still upset about the mistake, I felt the solution was adequate. For all my other dental visits, my insurance was billed within a few days and I have never waited more than 2 weeks after a dental visit to get a dental claim fully processed. In this case, the office submitted a claim 6 months after the visit and the insurance paid the office over $400 for "consultation" and xrays. I find it shady that the claim was submitted so many months after the visit. It makes me feel like they waited until we forgot about them. My fault I didn't notice this at the time because we had moved on to a different orthodontist (Dr. Schlicher--who is amazing and didn't even feel my daughter needed to have braces right away and has just been monitoring her for the past 2 years WITHOUT CHARGING US OR OUR INSURANCRE COMPANY! Six stars for him) I was recently looking over dental claims and noticed the 2024 ortho charge. I have $3000 lifetime ortho coverage so this office basically took over 10% of that amount for hurting my child. I called the office to discuss this and the basic answer I got was just to dispute the charges with the insurance company. The person I spoke said "of course we would charge for the xrays". REALLY???? You make a mistake that hurts a child and then wait 6 months and charge for xrays that we will never be able to use? And she then says "oh, we can send you a copy of the xray". Thanks lady...I really need xrays that are two years old because my daughter's mouth has not changed for the past 2 years! When I asked her why the claim was submitted 6 months after the visit, she immediately blamed the insurance company. There have been numerous dental claims submitted for every member of my family and yet this is the only incidence of this type of delay. It's been a long time since I've been this upset. Do not go to this place. They just rush to slap braces on everyone. Did I mention Dr. Schlicher has just been monitoring my daughter FOR NO CHARGE since 2024 and he sees her twice a year. Digest that! I only wish there was an option for ZERO STARS!!!!!

This time she felt more comfortable at dental office, special thanks to all staffs who were taking her x-rays and Dr. Cheung. Dr. Cheung was so patient and made the dental checkup fun for her. I am so grateful. Cindy who is working at front desk answered all my questions before scheduling the appointment and she was very helpful.

The experience was marked with dishonesty and unprofessionalism - and awful results if I didn't fight for my re-treatment. Fortunately, my results are positive but only because I had to stand up for myself for refinements that Dr. Bailey did not correct from overzealous IPR treatment, of which she and her office team gaslit me to no end, when I sought to correct the gaps I could see in the mirror and feel during flossing. What set the tone was when Amy conducted my consult. I vividly and purposefully asked her the reason why she wanted my insurance card. Per her words, it would be used to validate treatment and not to charge me for anything during her sales pitch. 2 months later, my insurance sends me the billing notification. The deceitful communication was not appreciated. What further set the tone was a comically mean receptionist at their Livermore office, but after office consolidation to Pleasanton, she no longer works there fortunately. A receptionist really sets the tone for business. Forewarning on the archaic billing. I've seen complaints about it here. It is off-site. Statements aren't automated. I had the deep displeasure of speaking with Lupe to explain the consult charge, later having to escalate from ignored ledger emails which was later managed with Connie. My six months of treatment turned into one year when I realized that the IPR (an orthodontic treatment performed to shave spacing between your teeth) had left me with a daily sense of regret as one of my teeth literally look like it's been chipped. Note that I did have braces before. My naturally rounded incisor was carved with edges.. Furthermore, I'd been left with gaps in between my teeth I could feel prominently when flossing that I did not have before. My Invisalign set did not close them as they should have. When my mouth was dry, I could see visible spacing and was perturbed. This is a cause of concern as I age and these spaces would likely become more prominent... When I made an appointment months later in the hope of closing the spacing, a scene out of a movie played out that I hope no patient EVER experiences. I had to muster all of the bravery to stand up against the gaslighting and dismissing of my concern. A gaggle of 3 women, Dr. Bailey, mean-mugging office manager (she wouldn't introduce herself, just stood there with a frown down to her neck), and some other employee argued against my valid concern that I mustered up the bravery to address after thousands spent. . Later, Dr. Bailey finally acknowledged and ordered more refinements. The denial, gaslighting, the mean-mugging of 3 women of the orthodontic cartel were just dreadful. After refinements, the gaps are now fully closed in. And now I can happily never return. It can be difficult to fully bring up these things as a patient and so having staff not condescendingly comment on such concerns they have no business having an opinion about (Amy) would be appreciated. As a thank you for the experience, allow me to save any current and potential patients $600 with this advice: Kali Smiles/Image Ortho will quote $800 for a lifetime retainer. I hope you keep this cost in mind if they move locations again, if you move, or they don't stay in business. Go to sportingsmiles.com. they'll send you a kit to send you do a teeth impression for $200 retainers.
