No one from their office called, I called twice, always being told someone would call me back to follow up. I was refusing to pay for the co-pay until someone called me to schedule the MRI. The only person that ever called was the person in bill collection threatening to send me to collections over $35. That's all this doctor and his staff are worth. These people don't care.......I will never go back and obviously would not recommend them to anyone.

He stated that my MRI was not that bad and he felt that since I did not get relief from my previous injection, the issue was with my back. I told him I knew it was my hips and that after having two back surgeries I knew it was not my back. He did not care about my level of pain. I was in and out with no help or solid plan in a few minutes. He dismissed me completley. His office kept calling to schedule my back MRI and I declined. My pain managment doctor also disagreed with him, and he's in the same office. He wrote me a referral to Stanford. Fast forward less than four months later- Had my hip replaced at Stanford by Dr. Lipof. He said in addition to other issues, tears, etc. my labram had become detached and was just laying on the socket, one of the worst he has ever seen. I had presented all of the symtpons to Dr. Meckel. Get second or third opinions until you find someone who will take you seriously and don't give up until you find the right solution for you. I hate writing poor reviews, but this was poor medical care and I deserved better.

I developed a running injury that was not getting better. I left Dr. Kirby a message on Sunday, and they got back to me Monday late afternoon. I called them back within the hour and left another message. I didn't hear back from them Tuesday, so tried again and left a message on Wednesday that said something like, "hey this is my third message, please give me a call back." Got a VM two hours later that said, "we checked our caller ID and don't see that you called three times...." Um. Yeah. I still tried calling again. They didn't pick up. The receptionist called back pretty quickly and I told her that I was disappointed with the customer service because every time I called it went to VM and then most recently when I received a called back the caller questioned my integrity ("we checked our caller ID and didn't see you called..."). Instead of apologizing, she went on the defensive, saying their office is very busy and they return their phone calls within 30 minutes (which I know is not true because all my calls except this past have been hours or days later) and that they checked the caller ID and my number wasn't on there. I laughed and said, "I see. So you're calling me a liar." She said, no (but yes), "maybe you called the wrong office" I just laughed. But really. I just wanted to schedule an appointment.

I still have some muscle soreness and tightness, which is to be expected, but the difference is remarkable. Deb, Dr. Sohrab's assistant, made the entire process incredibly easy. She was always available to answer my questions, walked me through every step, and even provided helpful videos explaining what to expect before and after surgery. As a former professional snowboarder, I've had my share of injuries and surgeries over the years, so I'm not new to the process. Without question, this was the most comfortable, organized, and stress-free surgical experience I've ever had. I'm grateful to Dr. Sohrab, Deb, and the entire team for the outstanding care.

After being told I could only schedule one day in advance due to a "newly enforced" no-show policy, I sat in the waiting area for my Uber and overheard the receptionist booking another patient for Thursday. When I confronted her and asked why that patient got to book ahead, she finally admitted how the new scheduling really works. ​Here is exactly what they are doing at their Monterey and Salinas locations: ​ Erasing Scheduled Care: They abruptly deleted already-booked future appointments for established patients with any past missed days. ​ Retroactive Punishment: They are using this new policy to penalize you for past misses, even though they never enforced the rule back then. ​ Blatant Double Standards: Penalized patients must call the day before and just hope they get squeezed in. Meanwhile, a flood of new patients from a closed-down clinic (and those with perfect past attendance) are getting top priority and advance scheduling. ​ No Room for Emergencies: A fair warning to those new or "perfect attendance" patients: if you miss just one appointment, you will instantly fall into this same restrictive system. You better hope you never get genuinely sick or have a real emergency! ​It is incredibly unprofessional to retroactively change the rules, secretly cancel people's future appointments, and lie to your face just to make room for new patients. ​ Look elsewhere if you want equal, reliable, and respectful care! ‍

I had surgery a few days ago at the Cass St. surgery center and they were amazing on all counts…read more From the nurse who checked me in, to the amazing nurse who put in my IV (the only part of surgery that I really dread) to the anesthesia doctor, and whoever it was who very patiently helped me to dress on leaving that day, they were all so kind and compassionate that before surgery even began I felt like I had my own personal, elite squad of care. Thank you to all of you, and also the 2 new nurses introduced to me in the operating room as I was saying hello while succumbing to the anesthesia. I remember laughing to myself as they wheeled me down the hall, and saying I felt like a famous formula 1 driver and they were my superstar pit crew! They know how to help you relax and have a little fun before and after the procedures. I've had four different surgeons. They were all top notch. The facility is clean, busy and full of people who care and try to make your procedure as smooth as possible. I rather enjoyed the chatter amongst the staff. It showed me that they enjoyed their job and their co-workers. It was a true team experience. I highly recommend any of their Monterey facilities.
