Reviewing customer service- not chiropractic. This chiropractor came highly recommended by my husbands colleague (who is a teacher at CUSD). I developed a running injury that was not getting better. I left Dr. Kirby a message on Sunday, and they got back to me Monday late afternoon. I called them back within the hour and left another message. I didn't hear back from them Tuesday, so tried again and left a message on Wednesday that said something like, "hey this is my third message, please give me a call back." Got a VM two hours later that said, "we checked our caller ID and don't see that you called three times...." Um. Yeah. I still tried calling again. They didn't pick up. The receptionist called back pretty quickly and I told her that I was disappointed with the customer service because every time I called it went to VM and then most recently when I received a called back the caller questioned my integrity ("we checked our caller ID and didn't see you called..."). Instead of apologizing, she went on the defensive, saying their office is very busy and they return their phone calls within 30 minutes (which I know is not true because all my calls except this past have been hours or days later) and that they checked the caller ID and my number wasn't on there. I laughed and said, "I see. So you're calling me a liar." She said, no (but yes), "maybe you called the wrong office" I just laughed. But really. I just wanted to schedule an appointment. read more

It's been a long while since I've been here. There was covid in between and so maybe over 2 years or 3 years. That shows how well the first treatments went. Also when I came back it was for a different issue. My neck felt super stiff. I was having problems turning my head without wincing. Again not like I need an operation pain but like I can rotate my head left to right maybe 30 degrees. Like 15 to the right and 15 to the left before it just stops. I figured I'm not doing yoga and I'm not a gymnast so this is probably normal for a mid 30s man. Well finally I had had enough. Having neck pain when changing lanes on the freeway is ridiculous. So I called up Dr. Kirby again. He set me am appointment. The first one was the craziest amount of cracks ever and right after was very overwhelming but it felt like maybe I could nit move 20 degrees in each direction. Kind of like yeah thaylt definitely did something but just not quite sure what. The next one was still cracking and I thinkbI got used to it again so it was not so overwhelming. Like no headache the next time and quicker recovery for going about my day. Now I was moving about 25 degrees in each direction. I just had my 4rth visit and the pain is completely gone. I think I can look to my left about 65 degrees and to my right like 80 degrees. So I scheduled another appointment but I can already tell a MASSIVE improvement. I'm looking all over all weird like I've never seen the world before lol. Anyways if you have limited movement or minor pain and limited movement I would definitely see Dr. Kirby about it. Dr. Kirby is the best! I have been going to him for years. I have a mild to moderate case of scoliosis and need adjustments throughout the year. Sometimes I wait too long in between visits and call him when I'm in pain. He has never turned me away for a same day appointment. He always preps my back first with different treatments (depending on where and why it's hurting) such as heat, aqua bed, tens machine, or laser treatment. He then spends a few minutes massaging the area and lastly the adjustment. He offers different types of adjustments too. He's not like other Chiropractors that I have been to that just adjust you. I can't say enough good things about him, and I sure don't know why it's taken me so long to write this review! read more

My son's shoulder was in a lot of pain. I took him to Dr. Dan, though my son wasn't so sure he would trust a chiropractor. At the same time, I decided I was due for a neck and shoulder tune-up. I always fall asleep on that water bed with the jets that relax my back. While I was snoring, Dr. Dan diagnosed my son's problem, treated him and suggested 3-4 more visits. I have to pay for his medical care, and his insurance doesn't cover chiropractic care. I told Dr. Dan I really couldn't afford that (my son is 23 years old and eeks by on a meager income). He gave us a cash price that was affordable, so I can go ahead and have my son's needs met. My son was really happy with Dr. Dan (and his mom). See? This man has a heart. Dr. Kirby fit me in for an appointment when no one else could. He's caring and compassionate but also super competent. The treatment I received far exceeded any other chiropractic appointment I've ever attended. He said that his work will "decrease my pain by at least 30%" but I was able to go home and get solid sleep that I was unable to the night before due to my pain. I injured my back while training Brazilian Jiujitsu. After suffering through the pain for about six weeks, I decided to go to a chiropractor. I went to several different places, but none of them fixed my back, and some of them made it worse. Then I found Dr. Kirby. He was recommended to me by the owner of the gym that I train at. Not only did he fix my back, his rate was the lowest of all the people that I saw. He also provided the best service. Before my adjustment, I received a relaxation massage AND electro-stim therapy. At every other place, it was either "Take off your shirt" or "Let's bombard you with X-Rays". I have never had a problem with Dr. Kirby or hist staff, and I have recommended all my friends and training partners to visit him when they have back pain. Let me preface this review with, I have been a patient of multiple chiropractors for the same recurring problem. While I am a firm believer in the benefits of chiropractic care, I have never experienced anything like what I experienced at Dr. Kirby's office. If I could give this man a zero, I would with no hesitation. I felt that his care was negligent in that he never did any sort of preliminary examinations to determine if there were any underlying problems, by means of x-rays, etc., but honestly, I feel like that's the least of it. I would NEVER recommend any woman schedule an appointment with this chiropractor. While I saw other women in his office who apparently have no problems with him, I wasn't so fortunate. I won't go into detail on Yelp, I did that in the letter I was compelled to write to Dr. Kirby, but he was completely inappropriate, unprofessional, and disrespectful. Male doctors should exercise an extra level of consideration when dealing with female patients (especially if they are going to require them to put on a hospital gown) and Dr. Kirby definitely crossed the line. He made me feel unbelievably uncomfortable and I was shocked at what he apparently felt was acceptable in his dealings with female patients. After giving birth to my now 16 month old I knew that I needed to see someone STAT about my agonizing back pain, and hip pain I was going through. I finally made an appointment from a recommendation from a friend and called for an appointment. They were able to fit me in the very next day! (Talk about convenience) When I arrived, with my 16 month old in tow, they were excited to see my son, and entertained him while I filled out the necessary paperwork. After getting a brief description as to the work that Dr.Kirby was going to be doing, I felt more at ease. I got a nice hot pad, and electrode introduction to help get me loose, and then a deep tissue massage, and then he started "cracking!" The first couple released an enormous amount of pressure I was having, and when he finally set my hips in place, it was an instant NO PAIN! I felt like I could run a marathon afterwards! I got my energy back, and it was great. We were cash patients, so the fee for being seen was fairly reasonable, compared to other Chiro's in the area... He has helped our family for years with everything from scoliosis to sports injuries to regular body maintenance. Even with a full office, he always takes the time with each patient to make you feel important and well taken care of. Dr. Kirby never does only an alignment and then scoots you out the door. Each patient's treatment varies depending on what they're seeing him for, but he always makes sure to include body work (massage, e-stim, water massage, etc.) in addition to adjustments. I only put one star because this website doesn't allow to post NO stars. This guy is a joke. Not only did he ruin my husbands back but he failed to bill our insurance when my husband was treated and ended up billing is 5 years later!!! By that time we had different insurance that would not cover a bill that old. He didn't even send a itemized invoice. When we FINALLY did get a itemized invoice it was for services my husband never received. We questioned the billing department about the charges and they flat out told us that when a insurance company refuses to pay for specific services like a massage they itemize it as something else like a "back manipulation" to get it covered by insurance. After speaking to Dr. Kirby about the issue he refused to budge on the price which we thought we were entitled to since it was so outstanding and we even offered to pay in cash.
