Now several years after scammer Dr Duca did 2 root canal and crown jobs I have yet another surgery setup to fix his mess. He is the absolute worst dentist on earth. I've had 6 different antibiotics, tooth removal, bone grafts and more from him LEAVING BROKEN DRILL BITS IN MY JAW!! I have scans, X-rays and everything I need to prove his incompetence. Plus he always says my insurance doesn't cover anything and have to pay outta pocket. I received a refund check from Aetna for Duca over charging me for services that were covered. And with my exact same insurance other providers covered almost everything. Duca - you need to give me back every penny I spent in your office. Contact me. You know what you did. I had the worst dental experience ever in this office. The dentist Dr Jill and assistant were arguing while trying to take a mold for a crown. The mold was not done correctly and the crown did not fit when I returned 2 weels later. Dr Duca was trying to help the other dentist fit my crown and he stuck a tool in my open tooth socket with no novocaine!!. I screamed in shock and pain. He said, "don't be such a baby". I would have walked out of the office if I didn't have an exposed tooth root! they took a new mold and I returned again 2 weeks later. It fit properly but was very sensitive for close to a year. read more

My wife and I switched to Dr. Duca after our current provider would not except our new insurance plan. For the first time ever I actually enjoy going to the dentist. Dr. Duca is not only a great dentist, but his staff is excellent too. He has a great sense of humor, so we chat and laugh through most of my appointment. I am very happy I switched to Pete Duca. I used to be extremely afraid of going to the dentist's office. I avoided it for years because of my precious experiences. Dr Duca now makes it easy to go. Really nice and funny guy. Always available when you have an emergency. Very calming presence and very polite to those who have dental anxiety. He's quick and does good work. I wouldn't go to anyone else. This IS the worst dentist I have ever been to. He is everything like the last review and then some. His staff is disorganized and not very friendly. He is insulting and makes more than enough mistakes. When he sees he can't handle something he acts like he is doing something, but doesn't. He just complains about things and your teeth. My teeth however are very good and the only thing I have is a bridge he claims needs "ripping out". He had bonded my sons tooth over 8 times. We had to go to him because of insurance. Well I complained to the insurance company and finally they agreed to transfer to a new dentist. This guy just is terrible. read more

This was by far the worst dentist office I've ever been to. The doctor was not only rude to me but also rude to his dental hygienist. The front desk was unorganized and also very rude. I would not give this office any stars for my treatment here, if I had the option to. My first appointment with Dr. Duca was a cleaning, at this time I found him brash and very rude. He told me my front tooth was ugly and my teeth were yellow. He also mentioned that since I was a hairstylist was there any way I could get his hygienist to change her from red back to blonde because he didn't like red heads and blondes were better looking. After my cleaning we consulted on me getting work done in a couple weeks. I checked out at the front desk and asked for an estimate for my following appointment. She quoted me and we schedule my appointment for 2 weeks later. I arrived at my appointment a couple weeks later and the doctor was being as rude as ever telling me he had to do something about my ugly tooth, he wouldn't charge me, that it was just so bad he didn't want me to continue on with it. When the hygienist mentioned that was rude he replied that he didn't want to lie to me. What happened to the days when doctors had a little class and sensitivity? To continue on, after my work was completed I went to the front desk to check out. The women then told me my total was DOUBLE what she quoted me previously! When I reminded her, what she told me the estimate would be a couple weeks ago when I scheduled she said that was a quote per tooth. I told her I wanted a total estimate of the work. She replied that she didn't know what I was getting (even though she had my chart right in front of her when she gave me my estimate) and this was the total and I had to pay in full today. I told her that maybe she should have better communication with the doctor and that I had budgeted for what she had previously quoted me. I explained to her I didn't have the all money and If she would bill me for the remainder I would gladly pay it next week. She said they did not bill, that I had to pay the full today, no exceptions. Never once did she apologize for giving me an incorrect estimate. I stood there upset and embarrassed as I scrambled for the total amount without ever receiving remorse or an apology. I recommend no one go there and be treated the way I was. read more

I have been using Dr, Duca for the past few years now and he has been great. Although he thinks he is a comedian and can be a little brash at times, he really is a fine dentist. He really cares and really does nice work. I think he is the most gentle dentist I have ever been to. read more

I love going to dr. Duca. He has you in and out in no time. I've never experienced any pain during the procedure, he is actually gentle! His staff is very friendly and made sure I was comfortable. Gravely disappointed. Went to Dr. Duca due to a change in insurance. At my first cleaning he recommended potentially extensive work. My instincts told me it could not hurt to verify with another dentist with which I had history. Well, not only did the other dentist deem the work was not exactly necessary but when I returned for other work and to give him the benefit of the doubt (after all, he has been practicing for 25 years), he took personal offense and proceeded to chide me like a child, claiming that second opinions are a "no-no" in the industry. I firmly insisted that as a professional he should recognize I have a right to confirm their recommendations. I also noted that if he were confident in the work he is doing, he would not take offense. Unfortunately, my experience indicates he either has a big ego (which you would not infer from first appearance) and/or they are recommending unnecessary work and are afraid of liability issues. I was led to think it is both because, one, he took offense when it is a business/professional transaction and, in regard to the latter, another odd aspect is that they claimed they had no availability for cleanings for the year but could suddenly fit me in for the initially recommended work pretty quickly. Either way, it was clear I would be finding a new dentist or returning to my old one when possible. They also made me wait each time for 15 minutes beyond my appointment start time. The only positive aspect I could glean was that they were friendly. read more

I truely injoyed my dental visit at Dr. Duca's office. Not only was the staff friendly but Dr. Duca explained all future treatment in great detail untill I understood everything. He spent plenty of time with me, making me feel like a real person not just dollar signs. Which I have experienced many times with other dentists. He made me feel completely comfortable, to me this is very, very important. I would recommend anyone to this office! read more

Dr. Duca is the absolute worst dentist ever ever! He is incompetent and extremely rude. My son had suffered unbearable pain that was mostly due to bad decision making on Dr. Duca's part. I am so disturbed and upset I am going to file a complaint against him with NJ Division of Consumer Affairs. My son was up all night in pain and I called Dr. Duca's emergency number and never received a return call. Not even the next business day. He does not care about his patients and is in fact very rude and inappropriate in the way he speaks to them. He also made bad decisions in my son's care that cause unnecessary suffering that could have been avoided. My son had to miss work for several days and it cost us a lot of money for terrible care. My son ended up having to go to a specialist to correct his problem. I called Dr. Duca's office with my complaint and he would not talk to me personally. I was hoping to get some money refunded from my huge bill, but was told by his secretary that he said no and he was too busy to talk to me personally. Unbelievable to me and I am hoping that people read this before choosing him as a dentist. read more
