New patient. I was hesitant to compose this but decided to, as I feel the staff would not be…read morereceptive to feedback. I will not be returning. Very awkward visit. 1) They don't answer their phones. I called numerous times and every time, had to leave a message. I was lost and needed directions, left a message and when I finally did arrive, the receptionist stated that she never received the message. Recommendation--perhaps you need a better phone service or another individual to answer your phone. 2) I had called, left a message, about confirmation time of my appt. I thought it may have been either 1200 or 1500. I received a text back at 1337 (obviously my appt wasn't at 1200), stating that my appt time was 1500, "as listed above"----in reference to a previous text that was sent a few days prior. Recommendation: Kindly just answer the question and leave out the last part--as the text chain got lost in the multiple texts that I receive every day, hence, why I called for clarification. I don't need to be re-directed to your previous text--I find that rude and unprofessional. You're being passive-aggressive and it's as if you are scolding me for not paying attention. 3) My hygienist. I'll keep this as short as I can. Rushed, banging cabinet doors around, very aggressive. I requested anesthetic gel for my cleaning, something I get every time I get my teeth cleaned. Seemed to be no problem but apparently I wasn't keeping my mouth/face positioned appropriately for her and she made a comment about if she slips it's because of the gel the "I" requested. Honestly made me want to get right up out of that chair and leave. Very rude and abrupt. Handed me a mirror to show me something and I was checking my teeth--she made the comment "oh you're checking my work" sarcastically. I am allowed to "check your work". It's my mouth. I was looking at how nice my teeth looked--thank you for that cleaning. She said she's been doing this for 40+ years. Perhaps burnt out. Recommendation: Perhaps more mindfulness about how you come across to patients. I certainly would have appreciated a better bedside manner. I was extremely uncomfortable the entire time. I will say that she did try at one point to alleviate my anxiety but honestly it came across as she was being put out and it was irritating to her, which made me even more uncomfortable. One pro about her----my teeth feel great. Thank you for that. 4) Dental Insurance: I have two Delta Dentals. I felt the receptionist was giving me a hard time because I didn't know my "member ID number", which, to my knowledge has always been my SS#. It was as if she didn't know what to do with that. Every other dentist that I've ever been to takes my SS# and looks up my benefits, etc. I've never had an issue. I left the office, made an appt with another dental office in the area, gave them my info (the same info I gave this particular receptionist) and they said "no problem, we can look up your information". Recommendation: Perhaps seek assistance from other dental offices and look at what dental office community practices are and how they assist their clients. I will be going elsewhere, but I hope this is read and digested by this office. I am not the only one who has felt this--I see that there is another review stating something similar. I am not only a consumer of dental/health care, I have worked in health care for over 20 years and know much about customer service, service recovery and appropriate bedside manner.

The office may be modern and "nice" looking, however the service I received for a routine cleaning…read morewas probably the worst Ive gotten. Staff was not very responsive or friendly, take your business elsewhere.

No expectations and only my faith to guide me: After an…read moreawful experience at a different practice for an oral procedure I was led to Dr. Chad's office by way of divine appointment. Lord knows I hate needles and my experience at the dentist's office is one I'd rather forget. I remained optimistic for what I'd encounter at Optimum Oral Surgery Group. After meeting Dr. Chad's other half at Pure Endodontics (right next door) for an exam (which was a pleasant visit), I was able to meet with Dr. Chad as a walk-in appointment for further review of my tooth. After the consult, his staff thoroughly reviewed my paperwork to explain to me in detail my treatment plan options. I came in for an appointment and my experience was better than I expected. I have a phobia of going to the dentist and have triggered memories of past experiences with other dentist offices, but I genuinely felt cared for, my concerns heard and questions answered. Dr. Chad's assistant, Erika was sweet as pie and made me feel like I was a family member of hers pre, during and post my procedure. Post my procedure I followed the instructions that were explained to me and clearly spelled out on the paper I went home with to heal. Thank you to Dr. Chad and Oral Surgery Group staff at the Mullica Hill office for making my visit one I wouldn't mind recalling to share with others!

Why won't Yelp allow 0 stars? I went to this practice for one tooth extraction in May 2022 (my…read morefirst ever). I had (and still have) horrible dental insurance. Anyway, I was asked to rate them 5 stars on Google before going beyond the front desk. They asked for my email and while waiting, they asked me again if I could rate them highly with a full 5 stars. That was really odd. Then, I was called back up to the front desk to be told that I would have to pay approximately $500 for the ONE TOOTH extraction - WITHOUT anesthesia. It was pay up or leave. I was in pain, so I had to put it on a credit card. That is a LOT of money for me and most people. Before I go further, the dental assistant was an absolute sweetheart. She was very calming and listened to my fears. I wish I could remember her name. I got the feeling she didn't care to work with the dentist I had, but with her being very professional, I doubt that she would have ever said it. Since I could not afford the IV or gas anesthesia, the male doctor (I cannot remember which) gave me a local. I explained upfront that it is EXTREMELY DIFFICULT for me to achieve numbness and can take a while to work. It has always been this way and I do not have an explanation. After a couple of minutes, he came in to extract. I cried out in pain and he was annoyed. He had to give me several more injections until it was mostly numb. With large dental forceps, he shattered my tooth into pieces as I again cried out. The yanking was brutal. He was annoyed and in a hurry. For two years, I was occasionally experiencing (from what remained of that one shattered molar) mild pain caused by tiny slivers that were poking my cheeks and tongue. To add insult to injury, I was billed afterwards another $750. For what? I was told that day that I must prepay in full or the doctor would not see me and my appointment would be cancelled. I don't want to jinx myself, but the nasty, persistent, collection agencies finally stopped calling, only to yell, threaten me with legal bs, only to harass me. I had kept the originally receipt and invoice, which said "full payment received." So, no more money for them. I should have been refunded for the torture.

Fear rattled meaning beginning and had me convinced that they look obviously fake. The reality is that they'll never look exactly like my original teeth. They feel less foreign in my own mouth. -- Painful experience, poor communication, and repeated reminders after cancellation…read more My wife and I visited Advanced Dentistry of Center City on September 15 for our first appointments, expecting routine dental cleanings. We both left uncomfortable, frustrated, and without receiving a cleaning. From the beginning, the visit felt rushed and poorly explained. The technician hurried from one place to another, quietly telling us to follow her without clearly explaining what was happening. We each underwent 18 individual dental X-rays. The process was extremely uncomfortable and, for me, painful enough that I nearly cried during the final images. My wife also found the experience painful. Neither of us had experienced dental X-rays being taken this way before. I also received a panoramic X-ray. When we contacted our insurer afterward, we were told it would not be covered because of the plan's three-year frequency restriction. We left facing a potential out-of-pocket expense that we had not expected. Dr. Batra told me I had no cavities and needed cleaning every three months because of my periodontal history. Having undergone periodontal and osseous surgery in March and recently moved from Texas, maintenance care was exactly why I was there. Nevertheless, no cleaning was performed. Instead, I was told I needed two crowns or risk losing two teeth. My wife was also told she needed two crowns, and she did not receive her cleaning either. We did not feel we received a clear explanation of the findings, treatment alternatives, or why the crowns were necessary. Scheduling the crown work felt assumed rather than discussed with us. The office arranged back-to-back cleaning and crown appointments for me on September 29 and appointments for my wife in October. We were told we would receive an insurance estimate, but it never arrived. After discussing the experience, we decided not to return. We called to cancel and obtained our X-rays after completing the required release form so we could seek another opinion. Despite cancelling, I continued receiving appointment reminders warning of a $50 missed-appointment fee. I called again and received written confirmation that the appointment was cancelled, with instructions to disregard automated messages. Yet the reminders continued, including a further reminder from the front desk about the supposedly cancelled appointment. My wife had to call again and leave another message. Painful X-rays, inadequate explanations, no cleaning for either of us, unexpected insurance concerns, and repeated reminders after a confirmed cancellation made this an extremely disappointing experience. We lost confidence in this practice and will not return.

This visit I was not treated very well and the staff was not friendly as they were to busy working patients like an assembly line. My initial visit was Oct.21 2021 for my initial exam and mold for my new pending dentures, I was told they were sold and no longer offer same day service after the fact, and was told to come back on November 17, 2021 for my fit, I realized I had my chem infusion that day and tried to reschedule my appointment, after several attempts to call and reach someone, or get a call back, I got reply from 9AM, so st 4PM I went to the office where a very uncaring person behind the desk told me she could not help me on another appointment until December 7, 2021 and that was , so I am going not even to get my dentures, so I agreed to try to go there after my 3.5 hour chemo infusion by 1PM. They did not hesitate to take my full payment though., and not sure how this is going to end up, but I will update this review. Very disappointing in not being informed of the long time involved until after the first service was preformed. they also failed to process my Delta Insurance or offer me the forms to file a claim. Stay tuned as I will update on my 11/17/2021 visit.
