He was very open and up front about everything and helped ease my anxiety about the situation, even cracked some jokes with me once I had calmed down (teeth stress me out). There were no surprises whatsoever, and my teeth ended up looking better than before they had even broke. Such a kind and caring dentist and a literal artist with his work. This place is a scam! I had an emergency cavity cause my cheek was swollen and in pain. It was Friday evening and this was my only Option however Peter says cash only Then we charge your insurance and the reimburse You. I paid over $7,000 because he said he drilled so much of the tooth it will probably break if he fills it so he extracted and put in an implant don't even let It heal and have me come back for the tooth to go on top. Then he wanted to schedule me for deep Cleaning for $1600! But that he got a check from my insurance for $2200 that was my reimbursement he had billed them instead of having it sent to me. So said I could use that money this is ridiculous my cleanings r usually fully covered so I had to negotiate to get it down to $300 after what my insurance pays him and still requested he sent me the reimbursement from my Insurance he refused to send it until I came in. I then told him my gum under the implant was infected red swollen painful and requested antibiotics so it doesn't interfere with the implant he refused and said don't worry I'll take care of u when u come for your cleaning . all he did was my cleaning which I voiced not wanting to do while there's an infection. He just wanted the money my implant ended up failing and now he will not refund me only put it back in after he charged close to $2,000 just to take it out when it became loose and he said it had to Come out . read more

Then he committed insurance fraud by filling with my insurance to pay him also. He has both payments and has not reimbursed me. He intimated me after I complained about him using my top teeth as a lever to pull my lower tooth. I am 88 years of age and have never been treated like this. Any doctor who makes you sign documents stating he will charge you whatever he likes regardless of whether or not your insurance pays is a red flag. Any doctor who takes an imprint of your credit card to keep in his "file" and then charges you without your expressed consent is a red flag. He will say you have "gengavitice" to bill you an extra $75 to $100 for cleaning as and when you question this service because you've never been diagnosed with gengavitice by any previous competent dentist, he will say "why you complain about $75?" Finally, any dentist who does his own scheduling, billing, cleaning and other dental work should have raised a red flag because he doesn't get enough patients to warrant hiring a full time staff. My search for dentists for hours turned up empty since it was later in the day on Friday and being from out of town where I don't have an established dentist in the area. Finally, I found Dr. Doo, who was willing to see me in his office. The first question he asked over the phone was if I was ok and had any pain , unlike others. After a 30 min drive, he opened his closed office for a dental emergency to help me out. He fixed my broken tooth by doing what is called composite filling . Yelp advertises that this company is open on the weekends. I called and spoke with someone over the phone and asked if there was an appointment available on Sunday morning. I was told that I could come in within the hour and be seen. It was never specified to me that this would be considered an emergency visit and that I may in crew additional costs. This practice is not upfront about any charges and I do not appreciate the way that we were treated while there. He bashed other doctors during the visit and said that their work was very poor. I do not appreciate that the owner of this business has responded to my review with my personal information. In the future they should note what was complained about and fix it not bash the person that said it. I'll just state the facts. Saw Dr. Do on a Thursday with a toothache in a back upper tooth. I was heading to Italy for a 2 week vacation that weekend so I wanted the tooth issue addressed prior to that. He examined my teeth and took X-rays. He said the tooth looked fine on the X-ray and shouldn't be pulled. He recommended a "first step" of treatment to be a deep cleaning, accompanied by pain killers until I returned from Italy. Total price would be $600. My wife and I both thought that seemed excessive to not solve the problem. We passed and left paying $140. Fast forward 4 days. Tooth continued to be very painful. Now I am in Rome and I can't eat at all. Italy.... and I can't eat. The next afternoon the hotel gives me the name of an English speaking dentist with late hours. The guy met me at his office at 8:00 pm. It was impeccably clean and modern. He looked in my mouth and said "the tooth is cracked." After a couple of basic health questions, he extracted the tooth in 4 pieces and stitched it up neatly. We were out the door by 8:45 pm. Total cost, 200 eur. I was able to begin eating comfortably by the next afternoon. Did it crack after I saw Dr. Do? I don't think so but who can be 100% sure? Draw your own conclusions. I would like to start this review with saying that like everyone else in the world I hate the dentist. Unlike everyone else I haven't seen one since I was about 14. I am 32 now. I have no dental insurance and went to bed on 8/3/15 with a slight tooth ache from a filling that had fallen out a few years ago but no issues after that. I called and told them my issue and the fact that I have like no money and no ins. in about 10 minutes they had an appointment available for me that day in about an hour. When I arrived I was greeted and handed paperwork and explained the process. they knew I wasn't excited to be there and that I was in major pain and treated me with compassion and professionalism. I was seen and explained that I needed a root canal. They processed a financing for me advised me of how much i was approved for and didn't sugar coat anything. The price was not cheap and any normal person in this economy wouldn't be able to afford. But when it comes to your mouth and teeth would you prefer to get cheap half a$$'d work or do you want a top notch job that will hold and you know that there wont be anything wrong when you leave. They tried to do everything for my situation. they told me that they are just going to make the pain stop by opening the tooth up and killing the infection with meds and when I get some more money together we will do the root canal. I was definitely ok with that seeing that I just wanted the pain to stop and it would have been in my budget to do it. The procedure began and the dental hygienist I believe her name was Holly was amazing. very calming, caring, Competent, and quick. It seemed to take longer then expected but they never wavered and just kept on going making sure I was ok on the way. Dr. Do wasn't a man of many words but what he lacks in conversation skills he definitely makes up with skill, precision, and heart. After all was said and done. I found out that he decided not to just do what was talked about, but to make sure i was leaving in good health and pain free he did the whole root canal ( no wonder it took longer than expected!) and he was allowing me to do a payment plan to do it. Money is always tight these days and having a provider understand the emergency situation and do anything in his power to make sure that a client leaves not only happy but with what is needed not just what can be afforded is a great find. When I got into the office they brought me back and he looked at my mouth and asked me which tooth is it that is causing you so much pain: " with my finger I pointed to the left side on the top" . He said yes I can see why you're in so much pain but its not the tooth you're pointing to the one on the right side... He is never in a hurry, he is very good at what he does!! They can do everything in their office. They do everything from cleanings to tooth replacements, His whole team is so friendly, it feels like family to me when I go in. There is nobody else out there like him & his staff!! I was in so much pain over Labor Day weekend with my two upper wisdom teeth and when I saw my old dentist, a week ago, he referred me to an OS which had a waiting list of 2 months! I can not say how grateful I am to Dr. Peter Do! It all started when I broke my old veneer on my FRONT tooth while at dinner on a Friday night. If this has ever happened to you...I am sure you understand the pain and panic I experienced. If you have never broken a tooth, I am sure you can imagine how traumatizing it is (especially when it is your front tooth that everyone see's!). Long story short, I was in a panic Saturday morning calling multiple cosmetic dentistry places in San Diego looking for a dentist to see me that morning. Despite advertising online that dentist offices are open on Saturday's, a majority of places I called didn't have a dentist in, only a hygienist. By 8:30am I was in full blown panic mode (and pain) thinking I may have to go to work on Monday with half a front tooth. Thankfully, I came across Westwood Dental Group and decided to give them a call. I was very surprised that when I called the actually dentist himself answered the phone. Immediately he asked me what was going on and accessed the situation. He then told me he could meet me at the Rancho Bernardo location in an hour! I was shocked at how professional and caring he was over the phone, given the fact I was calling before 9am on a Saturday and that he was willing to see me within an hour. I get to the office and he is on-time and opens the office just for me. He even called and verified my insurance and made a patient chart for me (not many doctors know how to run the front-office duties). Like many people, I HATE the dentist and get nervous as soon as I sit in a dentist chair. I was alone, scarred, and in pain but Dr. Do immediately came to my rescue. He saw how nervous I was and saw I was in tears over everything and calmed me down. He talked me through the whole procedure, made sure I experienced no pain, and even spent his entire Saturday (6 hours) making me new front teeth. I walked out of that office with a beautiful smile and peace of mind knowing I received the best care possible. Again, thank you so much Dr. Do! I cannot express my gratitude enough and look forward to my follow-up visits. My daughter fell and knocked her front tooth out on a Friday night and had to go to ER for pain control. The next morning, I frantically trying to find a dentist that's open on Saturday to fix her. My husband found a location open but they said they can only take X-rays, numb her pain and setup a appt for next Tuesday for dental work.
