New England Dermatology either was not aware what post-surgical implications of mohs surgery on the…read morescalp are, or misled me about expectations. An uninformed patient cannot provide proper consent. Had I known that I would be in excruciating pain for more than a week, unable to move facial muscles, chew properly, ambulate, shower without tears, speak without pain, or sleep a night without waking up in pain, I would not have consented to this surgery. Only after a call to the office a week later did I learn that the scalp is complicated and presents these issues. I was never told to expect to miss days from work, and was assured that there are not a lot of nerves on the scalp and that it would not be painful. Even when the scalp was being pulled and stitched, and I directly asked, "this really feels like it will hurt a lot later, what can I expect?" I was assured that it would not. Be your own advocate. This happened in April 2026. I only went here because they had a sooner appointment for me. When I…read moregot there 20 mins before, I was not seen at my actual appointment time. I was called in 15 mins after my appointment time. I was taken to a back room and was asked questions about why I was there (when they already know why because when you make an appt, they ask what the reason for the appt is). Then, I waited and a PA came in. When she was talking, I thought she was talking to me, but in reality she was talking to her scribe... who was in another room... like ....? I did not like that at all. That's not a licensed medical professional who should be knowing why I'm even there in the first place and I didn't like that a random person whose face I can't even see knew what my appt was about. Although, the PA was nice. Afterwards, I was given something to read about giving them permission to do "surgery" & they only let you glance at it. I got a biopsy, that was not done by the PA..... it was done by the person who took me to one of the back rooms in the beginning. She asked if I was allergic to epinephrine and/or lidocaine. I said I wouldn't know since I have never had any surgeries or biopsies before. She still did the biopsy and sent me on my way without having me wait for 15 mins to see if I'm allergic to it or not, which thankfully, I'm not. She didn't stitch up the biopsy. She told me it would close up in 1-2 weeks and that I had to change the bandage once a day until it closes. Well, guess what? It did not close in the timeframe she said. I was so mad. It closed up 2 months later, June 2026. Yes, I was changing the bandage everyday for 2 months.. which was annoying. I ended up going to Demo's Dermatology (much better by the way!) that same month, June 2026, and the PA there was shocked and concerned as to why my wound from 2 months ago was still not closed. She did say that it was closing well and she prescribed me something for the wound & also Retin-A for my face (which is what I really wanted so I'm glad), meanwhile this place didn't even prescribe me anything. This place also charges extra for a skin exam which I thought was weird because at demo's dermatology it's part of your appointment and they don't charge you extra. Also, for some weird reason, this place didn't let me bring in my water bottle when I was taken to the back rooms... she made me leave it with one of the front desk employees, which I'm sure isn't part of their job description to be babysitting some patient's water bottle. I don't know why they didn't let me bring my water bottle in. This place charges way too much for everything. The prices are exaggerated. They charge way too much for mole removals when you can go ask around at other dermatology offices. Like, demo's dermatology only charges $250 per each mole that you want removed. All in all, I don't recommend this place. It seems like a mega corporate company. This was my experience, yours could be different than mine. It's either a hit or miss for others. It was a miss for me.

As always very pleased with this practice.Able to make an appointment for a problem with a few days…read more! Staff was awesome . Love my doctor

I'd like to start off with that fact that I don't do reviews. I just bite my tongue when things…read morearen't going correctly. I have had a skin/ body issue for 8 months. Been to multiple urgent cares because I don't have a primary care doctor. No one can diagnose me for some reason. No one sees what I see and feel. So I went to the best recommendation of dermatologist. Hillside on Silver street.. Now mind you this has been way over a month ago that I had my visit. But I cannot let go the experience I had there. My issue is I think I have mold toxicity from my wife and I researching when no one could tell me what's wrong. I have mold in my ears nose and all over my skin. But when they did their 2 second look over with no equipment and didn't see anything that's when the tables turned. Well maybe it's my meds. Or the meds I stopped taking. Or maybe it's from having cancer. I tried explaining that my wife has experienced similar symptoms because she obviously lives with me along with my cat who has very scary similarities. Now my cat is no longer with us. I feel it's whatever this is I'm dealing with. So they gave me some cream and said come back in 2 weeks. The cream was so dam expensive and I had to mix it with another expensive over the counter lotion. Which didn't work. Then my second visit was worse. They did a simple skin test and took samples to check. Came back in 3-4 minutes and said it's just lint. I said it could be mold or a parasite. Because they pop out of me like hairs and burn. And spread further throughout my body. So now they start telling me I need a psych evaluation....really? This is how you treat a patient that's been dealing with no sleep for 8 months due to this. My whole house and family is having this experience but I need my head checked??? So I was irritated at this point as you can understand. I just want to rid this and need help. So I said if you can't help just tell me now so I don't waste anymore of anyone's time. In return they said my wife was also experiencing stuff that is not there. I think they said basically her mind feels bad for the issues I have been dealing with so her mind is playing tricks on her too. Lmao. WTH??? So I walk out. Get locked out as I leave and now they got my wife in there after closing hours. Telling her I'm nuts and I need an evaluation and to get my head checked. 2 weeks later I get a letter from Hillside saying they are no longer treating me as a patient. As if I caused an issue and I'm not allowed back. Still dealing with whatever this is. Almost 10 months now. The reason I feel it's mild is because now I have bugs flying and crawling all over me. Like they are attracted to the mold/fungus on my skin as well as making homes in my ears nose and mouth. So I'm clueless as I feel like I'm dying a little more each day. I finally got myself out of Mass for over a week and now I'm in Florida trying to swim and sweat this out. Sometimes it feels like it's getting better. Then I have days like today where I don't even wanna get up. Showing eating swimming doing anything at all is an absolute torque chamber. I don't wanna shower anymore because I know what happens. Ear nose and throat clearly saw mold in my ears when I saw them because they gave me anti fungal cream and drops. But I think I need more complex treatment. I have even gone through 2 rounds of Doxycycline which is supposed to kill any type of parasite. Along with permethrin scream which does the same. But kills bugs. I went through 8 tubes of permethrin and nothing. That's not even close to normal am I wrong? So needless to say I couldn't let this go when these people drove me to flee the state because I feel nuts. And my wife and I know I'm not. Thankfully my wife has stayed by my side this entire time. Or I would not be here now. In the beginning for 2 months I had to prove to my own wife what I was experiencing. Until she started getting affected. My parents still don't believe me so I made a journal of everything that happens and I experienced. When I die from this. Guess how good Hillside dermatologist will look after my story goes viral. That was completely the most unprofessional experience I have ever had!! I hope NO ONE ever has to experience what I did. Because they might not be as mentally strong as I HAD to be. Mostly cuz I wanna figure this out before something bad happens to me. I'm worried one day I just won't wake up. The dishcharge from my ears would burn me and create new growth or something to that effect. Then my skin looked like road rash. Which I showed Hillside with many pictures yet I'm the crazy one. Till we meet again. Hopefully in court next time. Take with this experience as you will. I'm to the point I don't care who and who doesn't believe me anymore. Good luck Funny how you have to put one star at the end for a review. I only put that cuz I had too. Trust me.
