Hairless Guinea pig with clearly overgrown and neglected nails.

Probably the worst Petco I have ever been in (and I've been in a lot). Employees are completely disinterested in helping you. When I ask for crickets, I'm met with obvious disdain that the employee now has to walk the 10ft to get them for me. This has happened numerous times. The animals in their care are clearly neglected. The Guinea pigs have grossly overgrown nails. There are multiple bearded dragons with oozing eye infections. Overall disgusting. Please don't support this place. The one on Main St is much better.

My daughter has taken my dog to their groomers twice now. Both times, my poor dog has come back traumatized. I am done allowing them near him. They cut the back of his leg near his butt. I am angry. Dec. 3rd, 2019 Update: We discovered more damage today while holding him on our lap. Poor thing had razor burn on his balls. I cannot believe how cruel this was. Hoping we won't find more.

Why are they in a fish tank? They were sliding.

I would give more stars, but the workers here are FAILING AT THEIR JOB. Which, basically means so is this company. I understand the goal is to make money and help animals, correct? The first thing I see when walking in are two beautiful harlequin rabbits for adoption. I notice they have huge pieces of carrots a lot of pellets and little to no hay. That already sends a red flag to me, since I have two rabbits. It takes two minutes to google what they need, to know they need A LOT of hay. As well as, too much carrot is BAD for them... plus they're sending the message that it's OKAY to potential adopters and it's not. I bought the rabbits some toys, she had no idea what rabbits I was talking about, didn't know their genders or breeds! How would she help someone adopt a pet that she knows absolutely nothing about? To top it all off they had the rabbits in a small FISH TANK. Lastly, I'm wondering why the woman who was working when I went in at about 11:20 am on Monday didn't tell the gentlemen with the puppy that he probably shouldn't walk it through the store to keep THE PUPPY SAFE FROM GETTING SICK. I actually warned him, to which he thanked me and picked his puppy up stating " It's his first puppy and he didn't even think about how it didn't have vaccinations yet". Petco, you need to do better. When the customers coming in are more educated on the pets you have on site, you know that's a problem.

    Baby can't get a groomer

It's really bad they advertise they are cat groomers on the site, you set up an account but nothing for cats shows up. You call the location(s) in your (my) area and no cat groomers.. REALLY ..WE LOVE PETS.. but NO cat groomers wow! Cats want to look pretty too. Sad Sad Sad PETCO

I read a bunch of reviews before coming to this Petco and was surprised by my experience. I was looking for a bearded dragon for one of my boys so I checked Petsmart then Petco. I ended up getting him from Petco mainly because of his look, plus Randy(an employee) was so knowledgeable about the reptile. He himself had one at home and helped me get all the right food, lights, enclosure and feeding regiment. Glad I came here last for my little guy. Oh and right now they have 50% off all reptiles, enclosures and supplies :D, can't beat that.

    Sick fish for sale!

Victorville PETCO. These fish are very sick. They are infected with Ick and would ruin your tank if you brought them home. Employees don't seem to care or notice. The water circulates through all of the fresh water tanks so all fish will be at risk. Be careful!

I was referred to Anthony by a couple of people and after reading his reviews I decided to hire Anthony. Through the process, Anthony kept in communication with me on Penny's progress. Five days prior to her training completion Anthony sent a message via text informing me that Penny possibly sprained her paw/ankle jumping off one of the obstacles courses he had her on. I was set back at first because agility training wasn't agreed upon or part of Penny's program. My understanding is that the obstacle courses are used for agility training which was not part of her 5 week course. He informed me that she was putting a little bit of pressure on it, but because she was not crying and still eating and drinking he believed it was a good sign. He advised me how the same thing happened to his dog and it was ok after a week and that was why he suspected it was just a sprain and didn't think she needed to go to the vet. As an experienced trainer I trusted his judgment because I was not physically there in person to see her behavior. Upon arriving to pick her up; as he brought her out she wasn't putting any pressure on her back right leg at all, only when he asked her to sit. Due to her injury Anthony thought it would be best if we did her last two hour sessions another day. He informed me that we would go over the training he completed with Penny once she got better. Upon leaving Anthony due to the injury and pain I can see on Penny's face I didn't feel right driving six hours back home without getting her examined so I decided to take her to a near by emergency vet. Penny was diagnosed with a dislocated hip and fracture. The vet informed me that if he had brought her in the day of the incident, they could have popped her hip back in. Given that time had passed they had to perform two procedures and now her recovery is to be crated/confined and heavily medicated with little to no activity for 8-12 weeks hoping the procedure is successful. After 8 weeks of recovery, the vet will examine her by X-ray to rule out having to perform a total hip replacement. When I updated Anthony on Penny's condition after her first vet visit, he responded.. "Poor penny I didn't think it would be her hip. I'm so sorry this happened I've never had a dog get hurt before" Afters Penny's procedure, I sent Anthony an update and informed him what was completed and what Penny had to go through. I also asked if he could possibly refund me for the training because in my mind I thought it was the right thing to do since it was only a fraction of the total costs of vet visits and her surgery. He never responded, called or text. This all happened within the week of picking up penny on May 27, 2023 and the last I heard from him was on June 13th. Penny's next appointment in August will determine if she needs a hip replacement. It has been almost two months since the first procedure and her behavior has worsened. She is now more anxious, timid and afraid of being left alone. The vet bills alone have already exceeded the price of training. Due to her pain and suffering she did not retain any of her training. The reason for my review is to warn others of the kind of trainer you will be working with. I would have at least expected a return call or text from Anthony. I never expected a full refund but I did expect him to be professional and at least offer a solution instead he turned his back and disregarded us. Definitely not a trainer I would recommend to anyone.

Throughout the entire process, she consistently communicated with us and always replied whenever we texted for updates or photos, which gave us so much peace of mind. Our dog was reactive to people, other dogs, motorcycles, bikes, and more, and we already saw such a huge improvement even on the car ride home. You can tell how much time, patience, and care Carissa puts into her training. Carissa even met us halfway to pick her up as we lived a little far from her. When we picked our dog up, Carissa spent over an hour teaching us everything we need to know to continue reinforcing the commands and training at home. She made sure we felt confident before leaving. She even offered to come to our house afterward if we struggled with anything, which really shows how dedicated she is to both the dogs and their owners. We're so grateful for all her hard work and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trainer!

We used Cari for a 2-week board and train for our dog, Chorizo. During the training period,…read morecommunication was limited and we often had to follow up ourselves to get updates. At the same time, we were seeing our dog being posted on Instagram more than we were getting direct updates, even after we asked for them. She pinned Chorizo on her Instagram, in the number one post slot, while we hadn't heard from her in three days and didn't even know he was going on a field trip. This was especially difficult for my wife, who had recently lost her father and was already going through a lot. Being separated from our dog was hard on her. We asked multiple times for updates so we could reassure her, but it never felt like we were getting the same level of feedback other reviewers experienced. The training experience didn't match what we expected. Recall still needs work, and "place" became more confusing. Before, he would go where I pointed. Now he tries multiple spots and flinches (expecting a stim), even after we bought him a cot. We asked Cari to introduce Chorizo to our e-collar (EZ Educator). During the consultation, she mentioned that he would learn recall and other commands to near perfection before the e-collar was introduced, and that vibration would be used before stim. The handoff only showed e-collar stim commands, and vibration was not introduced. His recall without the e-collar still needs work. We never received a clear breakdown of what he was working on during the program and mostly followed his progress through Instagram. After pickup, I had to follow up just to get a list of commands. The handoff felt rushed. He was exhausted, it was a hot day, and she had forgotten a water bowl, so a lot of the time was spent just letting him drink water. There was no follow-up afterward to see how he was doing. A few hours after getting him back that Friday, we took him to a groomer who pointed out a cracked toenail down to the quick and irritation on his neck from his e-collar. The groomer said the irritation looked like burns from an e-collar that hadn't been rotated and advised us to monitor his paw to make sure it didn't get worse. We took it easy and avoided taking him out while he healed, but by Tuesday his paw started bleeding. We notified Cari and let her know we would be taking him to the vet after my scheduled surgery. I had carpal tunnel release surgery on both hands that Wednesday, and I took him to the vet while recovering on Thursday. He developed an infection and a fever that required sedation, nail removal, and stitches. This whole experience is not what we expected after reading her Yelp reviews. Even trying to work things out with Cari regarding the vet bills, after we negotiated the cost down with the vet and insurance covered a significant portion, was disappointing. We weren't asking for everything, just something fair. The procedure cost about $900 if the dog is sedated. We asked her to participate $350-$380. She offered $100. When I told her that Chorizo was at the vet because his paw was bleeding, her response was, "Ok thank you for the update." We weren't able to reach an agreement and were told, by Cari, that small claims court would be the best way to resolve it, which is what we are now pursuing. Regarding our training equipment, we also had to follow up on two leashes and e-collar prongs that weren't returned after the program. She told my wife she broke the retractable leash and would send a replacement right away, but a week and a half later we still haven't received confirmation that it's been sent. (Edit: retractable leash and prongs received 3/31 via Amazon Prime.)

Deku is a terrier/chihuahua mix and he is also very stubborn/bratty. Deku is/was a very reactive towards mainly strangers & random noises due to him having anxiety (he even takes anxiety pills especially when going to the vet). Deku also had problems with pulling when walking. I know it's mainly the owner's fault to get your dog like this, but this is something I had a hard time fixing myself, even with all the research I have been doing and implementing for Deku. So for a long time, I have been wanting to train and board Deku and have been exploring who to go to, but Jonathan was the trainer I chose for Deku and he was absolutely AMAZING with Deku. Deku's transformation has me and my family so amazed and we are just so happy with how great Deku has turned out from this train/board process with Jonathan! I know Jonathan does not have many Yelp reviews, but the only reason why is because he is new on Yelp. I was a bit skeptical of this at first, but I did my research and have seen pictures/testimonials of the previous dogs he's trained before. He's the real deal! The first step of my process was doing consultations with different trainers to really see who I could trust more and I ultimately chose Jonathan because even during the consultation, he was so very understanding and communicative of Deku/Deku's problems and was explaining to me the ways we can tackle some of Deku's issues. Even with just the consultation, I already saw a difference in some of Deku's issues from the training tips he gave me. About 2 weeks later, I took Deku to board and train with Jonathan for 3 weeks. 3 weeks without your pup is so hard, but what helped was that Jonathan would give me pictures/videos of Deku and his growth being with him. From showing me Deku's lowest of being unfriendly towards Jonathan, you can see the journey of how Jonathan in the end bonded with Deku and trained him to be a more obedient and non-reactive dog! There has been some concerns with Deku being a little reactive towards small things, so I texted Jonathan and he replied instantly when I texted him about these small instances. Jonathan explained everything so thoroughly and even asked me to keep him posted on updates with Deku and that gives me peace of mind that this trainer really does care about the dogs he's worked with and all of his clients! I can safely say that walks are not nerve wracking anymore and Deku has not been reactive towards strangers during our walks. Deku does not pull as much anymore (Jonathan has taught me how to correct it if/when Deku starts to pull a little) and does the commands I want him to do. I'm still in the process of taking Deku to public places, but even if there's a little problem, I know I can talk to Jonathan about it and I already know he will give me great advice on how to handle/train Deku so he can be his best dog self! I truly can not thank Jonathan enough for helping me as a dog owner who loves their dog and wants whats best for him! I will be recommending all of my beloved dog owner friends to Jonathan and am also thinking about doing further training for Deku with Jonathan, since my experience with him was top-notch! I encourage everyone to support Jonathan and his small business! *Pictures attached are pictures from when Jonathan was boarding/training Deku. I found the other prescription! I left the line and was about to look again in the cat food section when the two employees that were engaged in conversation asked if I needed help. They looked important with their clipboards. I believe they were store managers, maybe. I explained to them the situation and something fell out of my purse (an old receipt). The woman manager reached down and returned it to me while I fumbled through my purse trying to show them the prescriptions for our cat. They were both so gracious and walked my daughter and I to the appropriate area to find the prescription cat food.
