We come here once a month to buy food for our American Bulldog mix. This is by far the best pet store in the area because of the awesome people that work here. i believe his name was jarred or jerard not sure on spelling but he was pretty rude when i was asking for a certain berried female shrimp, which looks very different from a non berried shrimp. he said 'they all look the same to me' with lots of attitude.. i work at a pet store and am always scooping fish and while i understand specific fish requests can be frustrating when they look similar but it is part of the job to do it anyways, and still helping the customer in the end. to be blatantly rude out loud about it is pretty wild. prob wont come back for fish again unless its another employee. the cashier i had was very kind and apologized once i told them about it. read more

When I called out that the 13$ item had somehow become 40$ she murmured something underneath her breath about how I clicked 10$ donation even though I hadn't clicked anything. Had to get a gift for a dogs first birthday party, so figured certainly I'd find some stuff at Petco and it did not disappoint. I was amazed on how many different things you could get that didn't break the bank. Store was clean organized and filled with so many pet supplies. Went to return Halo Dry dog food that we purchased for our dog. We believe that this food did not agree with her. Used it by adding to her regular diet and she had stomach issues. We then waited a couple weeks and tried it a second time and got the same unpleasant results. Obviously, we decided not to try again and went to return it. We were told that even though we had bought it there, they would not take it back. No credit after 30 days. This company is selling food they do not stand behind. We have never had a problem with any dog food before and will definitely think twice before purchasing anything at Petco again. This was the Stuart Petco. read more

Made a grooming appointment for my small dog as his normal groomer was overbooked. Filled application out online and disclosed that he had a slight heart murmur. The gave me the greenlight for the appointment and on the Saturday before the appointment scheduled on Sunday, I received the reminder (confirmation) email of his grooming appointment. My grandson drove him to the store for me today only to be told when he got him there that they couldn't groom him because of his heart murmur. He also indicated that groomer must have been having a bad day because she was very grumpy and condenscending in the way she spoke to him. Not acceptable at all!!!! Very unprofessional, inconsiderate and inconvenient way to handle the situation. Why couldn't they have contacted me when I scheduled the appointment and let me know that they couldn't groom him due to the murmur????!!!! Point being, will never make that mistake again. If anyone else wants to book a grooming appointment at the Stuart, Florida location, I would suggest staying away from a groomer named "Kate". read more

I went to Petco for years. We went there for puppy training- which was great! We also have a saltwater aquarium that we bought a lot of fish and supplies for -all good. We had our golden doodle groomed there and she groomed him like he was a poodle & charged me 90% of the fee and she only did 10% of the work. :(! then one day we were buying a bunch of supplies we had multiple bags and a couple large ticket items and when we got home we realized we didn't have everything we bought and calledthem. They told me to come on in and they would see what they could do with that. So I took the receipts with me and went in there and the manager who I have never seen in the store before basically called me a liar. I will never step foot in that store again. I can understand if they couldn't refund things because I really did not have proof but to call me a liar in front of all the other customers and cashiers- unbelievable . She could've just said I'm sorry I can't do anything for this- she said she was there every day and never saw me there ever. I was there several days a week for 2 years. Even the dog trainer apologized to me for her Attitude! She should not be in any kind of customer service ever ! I had spent thousands of dollars there.... I will never go back! read more

This is NOT about Peto, it's a review on Vetco veterinary clinic that's inside the store. Absolutely horrible experience! Not only do I have zero record that my dog actually received her shots, but also the person checking me in, was totally incompetent and should not have that job. The veterinarian made inappropriate joke and I am the least sensitive person. If you manage to upset me, you know it was a bad situation. Besides the horrendous care, it was a total rip off and I will gladly spend the money on a real vet's office visit in the future. I will not be returning nor should you! This Petco is fantastic! The managers must be the key: the store is spotless and the staff is ALWAYS so friendly that I get a little glow whenever I leave. It's like they wouldn't be anywhere else other than selling me my dog food. I don't know many retail locations with a staff like this. The Petco aisle setup is a little odd - sort of makes finding things a little difficult until after you've been there a couple times. But I love the doggie treat bar, which is very well priced, and it's also fun to peruse the aisles along with the local four-legged furry friends who frequent this store. So disappointed. Called and had an appointment for my two dogs at 12 pm, go to petco at 12 and they tell me they "forgot to save the appointment" but I can leave and bring them back at 2 pm. I drive all the way back & forth at 2 pm and they said it would take "3-4 hours". I called to see if they were ready at 6 pm and they were just starting to cut them . I paid an extra $22 to have them get rid of my one my dogs tear stains...Nothing was done. The two cuts were really rushed and did not look good. Hair is so uneven on both dogs. I've been taking Talulah (our French Bulldog) here for puppy classes every Sunday morning. The trainer, Tracey, is hands-down the best trainer I have ever experienced. Her training methods are incredibly positive with the puppys and her love for dogs is completely transparent. I can't believe the change in Tula since we started the classes! Talulah and I both look forward to going every week. I will definitely follow up our puppy classes with Good Citizen K-9 classes with Tracey. read more

This PETCO is well stocked and the employees are friendly and helpful. They carry Blue Buffalo, our favorite brand of dog food and the pet treat bar is a neat feature. The layout of the store is a little funky, (kind of like checking out at Best Buy) where you walk past most of the dog toys on your way to the register. It's nice to have all the dog toys available as "Point of Sale" items on the way to the register but kind of makes it a little hard if the purpose of the trip was to buy some dog toys because you can feel like you are in the way of other customers trying to get to the registers to check out. Overall, the store is clean and where we most often go to get food, supplies and toys for our doggies. read more

I have been bringing my dog to this location for the past five year for nail trims. The service has always been great, until today. The encounter I had with Sarah in the grooming department was very unsettling. My dog is 16 years old and has arthritis in her hips. I always ask the employees to trim her nails on the floor versus lifting her on and off the table. The employees have ALWAYS been very accommodating to my dog's special needs. Unfortunately Sarah is not one of those employees who is willing to accommodate to the special needs of an animal. She stated she could not trim her nails from the floor as it is against their policy. I asked when their policy changed as it has never been an issue, she responded that their policies are ever changing. When she was finished she took the leash off my dog and turned around and walked away without saying a word to me. She waited until I was at the door and she was on the far side of the salon to say "thank you have a nice day" in a sarcastic tone. Sarah definitely has some growing up to do and is in need of some retraining. Someone who does not put an animals needs FIRST should not be working with animals...plain and simple. I am not only disappointed but also sad that I need to find a new location to bring my dog to in order to avoid another encounter with Sarah, This is the only place I have brought her and always felt comfortable with my dogs care until today. read more

I took my little shih tzu for a bath and haircut and and what a horrible work they did she does not look like she was at the groomer some parts of the hair are longer than others, I can not believe I paid for that. Hardly a selection of toys for big dogs.. Receive emails of sales that are in store/ online... They do not honor online prices and their loyalty program sucks... Half the time you can't get your reward points to pull up... Grooming dept is awful... Witnessed dog hanging off table and staff looked at it like oh well...
