We just cant give Gina, Fabian and Team enough Gold Stars for the care and training they provided our Boyz... CALVIN & ROCCO. Our two 5 year-old long haired dachshunds ruled the house and were simply amped up by visitors, vendors and noises at our home. ACC was able to correct all of the bad behaviors with their training program(s). While our intention was the basic class, our family encountered health issues that required us to extend the Boyz training time at ACC.... it was meant to be! Our Boyz came home so much easier to handle (and The Team spent A LOT of time training US as well). We had ACC train our two-year-old lab in April 2024. Mainly needed to work on recall. Finn spent two weeks there and came home as the dog we had hoped for. Some continuing work at home and he responds extremely well and is trustworthy off leash. He has been back for boarding/day school, which greatly helps reinforce his training. The work Applied Canine Concepts is doing for our dogs and us was completely life changing. We first came to them with a crazy 8 month old, high energy puppy that didn't walk well on a leash, didn't come when called, and had no self control. It was stressful and embarrassing to walk through our neighborhood, or anywhere for that matter. To put it bluntly, she was walking chaos. After 3 weeks of Gina & Fabians awesome, hard work with our first puppy Nola (and us), we were able to have peace of mind. Nola learned how to "control the crazy". We can walk down the street without her pulling, no more lunging after lizards and squirrels. She can now run free at the sandbar and recall in a field of other dogs without us worrying about her every move. Perhaps the coolest thing Nola learned at training was how to sit on our paddleboard. Not many things cooler than a paddleboard adventure with your pup. After getting another puppy, we knew we couldn't wait too long again to start training. So, we enrolled our 13 week old male in their private puppy classes. What he learned in such a short time has been amazing. Fabian and Gina are true experts in their field. Gina and Fabian are simply terrific. We have an 8 month old newfy and had already tried traditional training with 2 different places with no long term results. We resisted board and train because we just weren't convinced to let our puppy go with strangers for 3 weeks. From the second I spoke to Gina she immediately put me at ease. She was confident about the program without being condescending regarding our previous attempts at training our pup. Gina patiently answered all of my questions and addressed concerns, sometimes a few different times simply because I was nervous. We met them and brought our puppy a week prior to her board and train date. They spent an hour answering more questions, getting to know our pup, and explaining the process in more detail. We knew when we left that meeting that Canine Concepts was exactly what our puppy needed. I was very concerned that her personality would change and she would no longer be as attached to us. They explained that the opposite would happen. That proper training would actually create a tighter bond based on trust. Fast forward to 3 weeks later and time to bring our pup home. We met, reviewed her training with Fabian and Gina. Macy was a dramatically different pup. She was focused completely on us. The hand off happened and she immediately responded, the errors came from mistakes we made in communicating to her but even that has changed with repetition. 2 month post training update: THANK YOU CANINE CONCEPTS! We have the home environment that is now great for Macy and her humans! No yelling out of frustration, the only time she is crated now is if we are gone. She's loving and more connected to us than she has ever been. She is extremely affectionate, loves word and physical encouragement. She's open and receptive, always looking to us for approval and it is exactly what Gina told us would happen. We are her safe place. She trusts us explicitly and we are sooooo happy we made the leap to Canine Concepts. When it comes to our dogs, they are our frankly. Macy fits in now in such a unique and loving way. There are not enough ways to thank Gina and Fabian for helping us keep Maximus. Our 4 and half year old 100 pound most sweetest loveable dog ever was just too much for me to handle. We had tried other trainers, videos and tools. We were at the point we were considering trying to find a better home for Max. We had resigned ourselves to walking our German Shepherd at 11 pm, avoiding all dogs, children, birds and squirrels because we could not control her extreme reactivity, lunging, barking and prey drive. We kept her separated from the cats for four years, and were tired of apologizing when she jumped on guests, even though she was being "friendly". I had been pulled off my feet by her and barely evaded an unexpected situation that could have harmed a child and could have required putting our dog down. Some friends would not come to our house because they had been traumatized by big dogs in childhood and it took just one look at her barking and leaping at the window. We tried 4 different top-notch trainers over 4 years, and did our best to implement what they taught us but it did not stick. I was embarrassed by my dog and felt like a failure! We were deeply sad we could not take our beautiful sweet and cuddly (to us) girl anywhere because, although we hated to admit it, she had become the stereotypical GSD menace to others. Then, one day we saw a beautiful, huge black German Shephard OFF LEASH at the beach with an elderly gentleman. He told us that his dog had been a nightmare until he went through the program at Applied Canine Concepts. We were skeptical at first but after meeting Fabian and Gina, we realized that their Rockstar package was perfect for us...training the dog first and THEN the owners! After training Addie, Fabian and Gina worked with us every day to break us of our bad habits and develop good ones. They explained how to handle our dog with clarity and simplicity and were patient, reassuring and encouraging. They are brilliant trainers and phenomenal teachers! We learned more in one week about dog behavior and appropriate human-dog interaction than we learned in 4 years. We were able to implement everything we learned and the difference is astounding. Training for our 4-month old German Shorthaired Pointer was not an easy decision because we knew that we wanted a board and train program which meant we would be turning our "baby" over to someone else's care and control for a few weeks. Fabian and Gina could not have been a better choice. Our GSP has been back home with us for a few weeks and things are going amazing. She is a new dog and because of her greatly improved behavior she is able to go everywhere with us & we can count on her to behave like a "rockstar." We have even gone for some follow up group classes and I love to see how much our dog loves Fabian and Gina. Every time she sees them she can hardly contain herself until they love on her, but of course she patiently waits because of her amazing training. When people ask how old she is and we tell them that she's still a puppy, they can hardly believe it because of how well she behaves! read more
