My dog had constant UTIs, we took her to multiple vets and they all just give an antibiotic and that's it. After North Port gave us an antibiotic it went away and they gave me more without making me pay for another visit, nobody else has done that. After it came back the veterinarian gave us a probiotic for her. Issue solved...the dog suffered for 6 years with chronic UTIs and they fixed it with a cheap probiotic. They could've done x rays and blood work and send cultures out and then offered a probiotic, but they didn't. They aren't about nickel and diming their customers and take the best care of your animal. Unfortunately that dog reached the end of the road due to old age and we took her there to be put to sleep, and they showed so much passion and empathy.

Left this vet and giving only 3 stars due to bad business practices…read more So, here is the scenario. I have been going to this vet for a while now and they have gotten quite a bit of our money. I have been so happy with the vet care. I felt so comfortable and have been so happy with how much knowledge the staff has. Specifically, we really love Dr. Carrell. But you only get one shot with me when it comes to conducting good business with good customers. Dolly, my oldest baby is sick with a urinary track infection. $300 vet bill that included blood work. Fine. No problem. I get it. Vetting is expensive. Separate urine analysis another $56. Fine. Seems silly. I did the work getting the urine and driving back to the vet for drop off, but ok. Don't include it in the initial bill, fine. I don't agree with it, but ok. I pay it. They said they will call me with results and I can swing by and pick up a prescription once results come back, so they did. I go to pick up the meds. They said it will be $83.10 for this special antibiotic. I questioned the charge letting them know that sounded high for an antibiotic or dog Med of any kind. The receptionist agreed and then I asked, if I would be better off going to Sam's to get this prescription? She said she really had no idea if they even had it and she doubted it,but I could always check. She said she really had no idea if they would even have something like that or not. So I paid the $84.10 on my card reluctantly. As I left, I was dialing Sam's pharmacy getting into my car. I got up the street and got the answer that I was needing. The prescription would only be $52 and they had it and would hold it in my name if the vet called it in. That is a huge difference in price. So I immediately called the vet back to let them know. She then said "Well, we cannot take back the medication because it's already left the building." My phone records indicate communication between 4:26pm to 4:41pm with this vet office and also included time spent calling Sam's as I sat in my running car up the street to come up with a more economical solution. That is approximately 15 minutes. Mind you......This is a pre-manufactured medication in a sealed box. It is a sealed medication and I was a block up the road. She continued to tell me that they would not take the med back or refund my money so that I could get a better deal at Sam's. Again this is a pre-manufactured medication, similar to something like a bottle of Tylenol that would be sealed and untouched. AND, again, I was only a block up the road and told her I was literally still a block away. She said it didn't matter!!!!! That is was their policy and they could not take it back because it left the building. A sealed unrefrigerated medication. Really? Give me a break. It had been from the manufacturer! I was furious. I told her that I am so serious that this could make me lose my business with them, and she said she was really sorry to hear that. (Disclaimer: She didn't actually sound that sorry.) Nobody called me back. Nobody cared. So I immediately started looking for vets. I accomplished all of this within the same hour I found the less expensive medication. Do you think that this vet office cared enough to make any attempt at all to either match the price or even call another pharmacy themselves to see if I could save any money? No. No, they didn't. This is BAD BUSINESS. You do not treat good customers like this. I have bragged on them and have sent other patients to them. This is the thanks this place gave me. Well, the joke is on them, because I have three senior dogs out of the five animals I have that are going to probably end up costing me a bloody fortune in the next couple years because I love them so much and I will get them vetted to the best of my ability in their old age. But it absolutely will not be at North Port St. Lucie Animal Hospital. I will be telling every pet owner who asks me where NOT to go and WHY. Please let this be a lesson on how to treat loyal customers in ANY business. Don't implement self check outs and don't screw people over on price, because there are PLENTY of other places wanting your business. ALL businesses are replaceable. So, I am sorry Dr. Carrell. We will miss you, but my money is important and your staff has spoken for you with no regard to my circumstances and has made final decisions leading to us leaving your practice on your behalf. Please see photos of the sealed medication for reference. So here's the bottom line... This veterinarians' office would rather earn the difference between $83 and $52 instead of earn the thousands of dollars they would have earned with all of my animals going to them for future vetting. Edit of review 2-4-2024 Due to the reply by this vet: NOBODY HAS TRIED TO REACH ME. I have NO missed calls or voicemails. Just a public lie to save face from a bad review.

A woman came outside to take my dogs. When I asked if I could come inside, the woman rudely told me no. I found that also very strange. Why isn't there a reception area so that you can walk in? Assess the shop and decide if it meets your standards. I have no idea if the place is filthy. I have no idea what kind of dogs are inside and if they are contained. Another thing that struck me odd after I was not permitted to come in is that I was never asked to provide my dogs vet records. That brings to mind of transmittable diseases for dogs that aren't vaccinated. When I was told my dogs were ready for pick up same rude woman came outside with her handheld point of sale. I did not see my dogs until I paid the bill. Problem One: do not like not being permitted inside to see what kind of sanitation or animals are in the shop. Problem two: very rude woman who has one word answers is the first person that is seen for the establishment. It's not a good look. Problem three: not being able to see the work that has been done but being charged before you can retrieve your pets is completely unacceptable. I won't be coming back. I give this shop 1 only because the booking was convenient.

During this pandemic, my Belgian Malinois' accidentally mated (Despite my fiancé's best efforts to…read morepull them apart ‍) Due to my previous job, and traveling across the United States, my dogs primary vet was Banfield. ( whom I would NOT recommend to my worst enemy ) I received a ton of misinformation due to pregnancy in dogs and had no choice but to allow her to have what supposedly should've only been 4 puppies- Well, 4 turned out to be 7. And being 9 months pregnant MYSELF, keeping up with 7 Belgian Malinois puppies has been no easy feet!! Of course, MY pick of the litter started favoring his left hind leg, and it seemed to be progressively be getting worse. With him being only 4 weeks old, needless to say, I was concerned. So, I did what any dog mom would do- called all the vets I could think of, and wouldn't you know it, during the weekend- No one could see us until Monday. Except Guardian.. The receptionist had initially said the same thing, but upon further conversation, she showed such compassion for us, and was able to squeeze us in as a walk-in. They came out to my car, walked me through what was happening, and eventually took Blue inside with them. But despite their best efforts, he was in so much pain, they couldn't extend his leg to get a good x-ray. They sent us home with some pain reliever and anti-inflammatory & scheduled us another appt. for Monday. I must've called a billion times with questions and concerns, but they never seemed annoyed or impatient. Each and every member of the staff showed such empathy, and walked me through everything. I never once felt overbearing or like I was (or going to be) being nickeled and dimed. The pricing is VERY fair and I was never blindsided with any hidden fees. Do you know how RARE that is at a veterinarian office? It couldn't have gone ANY better. Guardian, you have a incredible office and an amazing, compassionate staff. I'm thoroughly impressed with the care Blue & I received and how professional, empathetic & accommodating everyone was. I'll be bringing all my fur babies there in the future, including this new litter. I know, without a doubt in my mind, that they will be receiving the BEST care. Thank you Guardian for all that you do.

Do not go here. On June 29, 2026, I took my dog, Tula, to…read moreGuardian Veterinary Medical Center as an urgent patient because she had developed a limp and what appeared to be a rash or bruise underneath her limb. Because we did not have an appointment, we were told that we would not be allowed in the examination room with her. We understood and accepted that. When the doctor came back out with Tula, we were told that she either had an infection or potentially mammary cancer. Despite the possibility of something as serious as cancer, Tula was only given an antibiotic injection and a spray. No bloodwork was performed, and we were not advised that she needed bloodwork or any additional testing at that time. I am only 15 years old, and I was there with my dad, who does not have much knowledge about dogs or veterinary care. As the professionals, we trusted the veterinarians to recognize when Tula needed further testing or evaluation. We followed their instructions and used the spray they gave us, but Tula continued to get worse. We had a follow-up appointment on July 10. By then, Tula was extremely lethargic, had very pale gums, and was barely eating. When we met with the doctor, she told us that she did not know what was wrong with Tula and even said that in her 50 years of working, she had never seen anything like this. Bloodwork was finally performed, and we were referred to a cancer center. Sadly, Tula passed away less than 24 hours after that appointment. When we received the bloodwork results, we learned that Tula had a rare form of cancer. I understand that cancer may not have been something that could have been cured, and I am not claiming that a different outcome was guaranteed. What hurts the most is that Tula did not deserve to spend her final days suffering. She could have potentially been made comfortable, and we could have had the opportunity to make decisions about her care sooner instead of watching her condition deteriorate. If we had known how serious her condition was, we could have at least considered letting her go peacefully rather than watching her suffer. Tula was only 7 years old. She was the most energetic, loving dog and was full of life. Watching her slowly lose her spark and eventually take her last breaths is something I will never forget. I trusted Guardian Veterinary Medical Center to take care of my dog, and they failed Tula. They are unprofessional and I HIGHLY recommend not to take ur pet here.
