I had never fostered or owned a dog of my own and when I saw this poor boy's picture on Instagram I wrote "I will foster him.". It didn't take long for me to fall in love with Woody, who is named after one of my father's favorite jazz musicians, Woody Herman. My problem was that I already had 3 cats and Woody wasn't about to play nice to say the least. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to keep him. I started to do research on dog trainers and found that some used harsh techniques like shock collars. Woody was already coming out of what appeared to be a violent background. People in animal rescue believed that he had possibly been used as a bait dog. The first two photos are from when he came to me. The white marks were wounds that were healing. Anyway, I asked Google for a dog trainer that could get my dog and cats to exist calmly together. Bark Busters came up in the search. I read the reviews and was impressed with the glowing reports of quick success. And I needed things to happen quickly! I called and spoke with Marc who is one of the nicest people on the planet! We met at my home and what I witnessed over the next several hours totally blew my mind. Woody was quite responsive and did very well with the various training exercises that Marc led him through. But the challenge was the situation with my cats. Little by little I exposed them to him and on the second visit with Marc and his wife Karen they encouraged me to go a little further and so I did. I would walk him in the house on a leash and use my "dog talk" when needed. I saw progress. Woody was kept in his crate a lot and whenever I would go out I made sure it was not only locked but would tie a leash around it in a double knot. One night when I came home he greeted me in my laundry room! I was shocked and scared. Worried about what I might be seeing as I entered the rest of my home my fears were extinguished when I found 2 of my cats on the arms of the sofa and my oldest, most feeble cat lying comfortably on the sofa! It was a miracle! This occurred one more time as "Divine Confirmation" to me that all was well and Woody now shares the house with my cats in a relatively peaceful manner. I say it that way because my cats have been more combative than him! He has had his face swiped pretty good when he's gotten too close! They actually intimidate him now and that is the last thing I thought I'd see! I'm positive this would not have occurred if I hadn't had Bark Busters training. Marc and Karen are excellent at what they do. Actually, there aren't enough words to describe their professionalism and deep understanding of animal behavior. They are responsive to phone calls and texts and most of all they care about pets and owners coexisting in a happy environment. Who wants to always bee yelling at an animal? How can an animal love and trust you if that's how they're treated? The Bark Busters way is, in my opinion and experience, the best way to train your dog! Look how happy my Woody is now! And I'm happy too! Thank you Marc and Karen! read more

Being in the industry, we have owned our own vet practice for 15 + years and have seen a lot of training systems. THIS is BY FAR, THE BEST approach to training we have ever witnessed. Our trainer/therapist had our pack doing exactly what was asked of them, quite literally, minutes after starting the program. There was no yelling, no angry voices, no touching or hitting of any kind. The approach is staggeringly simple. I would not only recommend this to every dog owner to help correct issues, but I hope that every dog's person would give THIS, the gift of connection to their companions, as the dogs don't just need this, they WANT this, as it bonds them even more to us, their people. We feel safe, they feel safe and everyone is happy. Gone are the days of being embarrassed when people come to the door. We enjoy walking with our pups and look forward to the next time we can work with them. They, in turn, are so much happier and enjoy us, their people, even more. It is not so much reprograming of your pet to do what you want as much as a programming YOU to be able to ask of your companion what you want in a clear way that THEY understand. You are taught how to communicate with them on a new level. Once you see the training in action, you simply will not believe how simple, how utterly stress free and enjoyable the whole process is. THIS, in our professional opinion, is THE ONLY way one should attempt training. It simply works and the bonus is that there is no need for lengthy sessions of months but most see the results they need in one 3 hour session. It is worth every penny. I would pay twice the going rate and it would still be a bargain. Don't put this off any longer, you have found the best training available, trust us, we know after more than a combined 40 years in the industry. read more

If I hadn't witnessed Marc's training in person I would never have believed it. My moms dog used to growl and snarl at everyone who walked in the room, and he was so terrified of people he never left the bedroom. After ONE session with Marc, he is a completely different dog. Not only has he stopped growing, he now stays in the living room and interacts with people. After seeing this, I immediately hired him to help with our six year old pitbull who had attachment issues and had developed bad habits like barking, sneaking food, and ignoring personal space. After one session my boy no longer jumps (you can see him start to and then think better of it). We were able to drop food on the ground without him going for it. The best part is, all this was accomplished without rewards like treats, or negative reinforcement like an ecollar. It's all through body language and relating to them on their level. I'll admit, at first I was nervous about getting stricter with my dog, thinking he would be upset. It's the exact opposite - he is so much more bonded to me. Marc shows you how to show your dog you are in charge. He demands their respect from the moment he walks in the door, but it's very obvious how much he loves dogs, and at the end of the session he sits down and cuddles with your dog - who absolutely loves him. As he told us - this isn't obedience training, this is behavior training, which means it will work in any situation. Do yourself a favor and reach out now. After only one session you'll see a change in your dog that you won't believe. read more

Our baby Beagle is so sweet but lacked so many social skills. We would never hurt her and didn't want to use a cruel shock collar. We tried scolding and/or banging a newspaper or magazine on the table. We tried a louder and a softer "No" to no avail! She seemed to have a mind of her own. We knew her love of people and other animals (Her jumping) was not always well received. Even worse, she might run out of the door despite our calling her and be injured or killed by a passing car. She chewed everything and was always underfoot in the kitchen, we couldn't eat a meal without her trying to steal it. We felt so confused and finally realized the real culprit was our lack of knowing what to do to get through to her. We called Marc at Bark Busters and explained our dilemma. We were shocked to see how our baby girl stopped all that bad behavior during a 3.5 hour visit with Marc. Now, well armed with knowledge, the rest is up to us to practice a mere 10 minutes every day! Our puppy has really learned a lot and our frustration level has lowered dramatically. We look forward to our next visit in two weeks. Marc is a true animal lover and nothing he does is mean or cruel, in fact much of his visit was spent praising, petting and kissing our 7 month old puppy. Marc and Bark Busters are worth every penny and their guarantee is for life should any new problems arise in the future. read more

This was the greatest experience we have had with our dogs. We have two giant schnauzers who are well trained and very social. About a year ago, the younger one started fighting aggressively with the older one (2 yrs and 6 yrs). It was frightening to watch when this happened. We were at the point where we even discussed having to find home for one of them. We didn't know what to do or how to fix it. We had to keep them separated in the house. UNTIL....... this Friday we met with Karen and Mark from Bark Busters TC. It was unbelievable! I was skeptical when they told us they would spend 3 hours together and we would see a difference. It was so simple and everything they said all made perfect sense. Helping us understand their process, and teaching us, we had both dogs listening to our commands and reacting to them immediately. Within 3 days, our dogs have stopped barking at people who come to the door, or walking past our fence. They know their boundaries and I must say the young one, who was trying to be the leader is the calmest I have seen him. They are both happy dogs. Our next session is bringing them together with Karen and Mark. I can't wait. I highly recommend both Karen ad Mark. They are both remarkable dog trainers (people trainers). :-) read more

My husband and I are thrilled to have Marc working with us and our sweet rescue dog. Bark Busters philosophy of using methods that don't hurt or frighten the dogs mirrors our own. Our Gigi was very stressed when Marc arrived. It was a problem with anybody coming to the house, and we hoped her frantic barking could be controlled. Marc showed us the technique Bark Busters uses, and we've been practicing every day. A workman came to the house a couple of days ago to finish some work he was doing. When he rang the doorbell, she barked and started for the door. I immediately used the technique we'd been taught and Gigi stopped barking, stopped moving, and laid down. She stayed there while I went to the door and let the worker in. When I invited her closer, she was quiet and respectful approaching him. No reaction, other than friendly. She has never exhibited aggressiveness so we were not worried about her hurting anyone. She was frightened, and that's how she reacted. We're excited to have Marc work with us on the other issues we have. I want to emphasize that Marc is amazing with Gigi. After he had spent a short time getting acquainted with her, she was in love with him. I joked that I thought she wanted to trade us in for Marc! read more

My husband and I just finished our Bark Busters training session with Marc and Karen for our two puppies Roxy and Remy, and we are BEYOND AMAZED. Before this, our puppies literally ran our house and everything we did was a battle with them. From non-stop barking in the crate, to barking while outside of the crate, to charging at the front door and jumping all over people, jumping on doors, digging, fighting, being wild in the house, and the list goes on and on. We couldn't even watch TV without yelling at them every few seconds. Marc and Karen were patient and did an incredible job in teaching us to "speak dog" and properly communicate with our dogs so that they know WE are the leaders, and so that they understand and comply with what we want. Within the few hours they were here, my husband and I see a MIRACULOUS difference in our dogs. It's seriously life-changing and I have no words. I'm so excited about what we learned and to continue reinforcing everything so that we maintain a peaceful home with amazing dogs!!!! Thank you! To anyone that is skeptical about Bark Busters, I was there too. But now that I have experienced it, I will vouch for them any day and it was worth every dollar!!! Don't look anywhere else. read more

We have a one years old boxer named Walter and he has the sweetest temperament, but has some behavioral issues. He is over protective of me so is pinned to me wherever I go and has separation anxiety when I leave the house, which results in massive destruction. (ie. remote controls chewed, dog beds destroyed, anything left on the counter chewed). When someone came to the door he rushed to it and jumped on the door. Anytime I was cooking, his paws were on the counter, looking for what he could get and finally when he wanted to play he would nip at my ankles and jump all over me. When Marc came over and we went through each problem area one by one, I was amazed at how simple the techniques are that they use and how quickly they work. I used Marc's training technique with the door and Walter didn't come near it. He learned that in under 1 minute without treats or a command word. I learned how to claim the kitchen and my own personal space in under 5 mins. Marc is so in tune with how to communicate with dogs and now I know how to communicate better with Walter. I am so happy I contacted Bark Busters and if you are having any issues with your dog and want quick and effective resolution, this is the place for you. read more

We adopted a one year old Bernedoodle rescue who turned out to be riddled with anxiety, and slowly making us regret our decision by just the second week after adopting him. We had immediate problems with barking, biting, and overall anxiety issues, which were starting to affect our mental state as well. Luckily, contacting Marc and Treasure Coast Bark Busters was probably the best decision we made in 2022!! Within the first 10 minutes of our training session our dog was visibly so much more relaxed, and approachable. Thanks to Marc's guidance on how to actually/effectively communicate with our pup, he has, with just one session, become the lovable goof we had originally fallen in love with and hoped to be bringing home as the newest addition to our family. Our original plans were to not only rescue a dog, but to have a social dog that we could integrate to our lifestyle and bring along on our outings without the fear of him biting those around us, or barking while out at restaurants or the farmers market, etc -- Marc made this possible for our family! Definitely will recommend Treasure Coast Bark Busters to all our friends and family in the future!! read more

is almost impossible to believe that my little dog is the same dog he was before working with Marc from Bark Busters on October 14th. In part because of a terrifying experience with another dog, he had become aggressive with other dogs in the neighborhood and sometimes with people. Within a period of three hours, Marc showed Ed, my boyfriend, and me techniques to use to correct those behaviors, resulting in what I can only describe as a miraculous transformation. The techniques do not involve corporal punishment or using treats; they simply show Charlie by our stance and firm commands what we expect. Both we and Charlie learned them and started using them while Marc was here. For about 24 hours, Charlie seemed a little bummed out by the new rules, but that passed very quickly. He no longer displays behavior that displays anxiety, like biting at his paws. He and we are relaxed, and the neighbors are overjoyed. Ed and I are committed to being purposeful and consistent in employing what Marc taught us. Bark Busters is pricey but worth every penny. I HIGHLY recommend Bark Busters! Kay Hammond read more

We have a 1.5 yr old pit bull mix who was becoming increasingly dog aggressive and terrible on a leash. I even stopped taking him to the dog park for fear he would injure another dog. Our walks usually turned into a jog because I was so tired of tugging on the collar and choking him. If we saw another dog--even from a distance--he would start barking and launching at the poor other pup. We called bark busters because we wanted a happier, more relaxed dog and our home methods were not working. Marc spent 3 hours at our house and the results were immediate. It's definitely not a one day miracle but he taught us how to communicate with our pup and the compliance is remarkable. His methods require that you assert yourself as the alpha daily so that the dog does not regress into his old behaviors but that gets easier everyday. I'm so glad Marc could help us and our pup! I called a few other trainers who basically told me dog aggression is something that cannot be changed... Bark Busters proved that wrong. It was worth every penny!!! read more

Marc is truly a miracle worker. I am very satisfied with the results. I had a defiant dog who was completely out of control and Marc's methods truly work if you STICK to the plan. He left me a plan each week to follow, and both of my dogs are amazing. He turned my timid dog into a confident pooch and made my aggressive 105 lb rottweiler who bit someone in the past an obedient little angel who waits for my command before doing ANYTHING. This training works if you follow the plan, my significant other did not listen and does not have the same result from our pets as I do. This training is worth every penny and I have never met someone more dedicated to their clients and passionate about their work than Marc and his wife. They are there beyond the time that you pay for. The only way you can get your dog to listen to you is by listening and following what this PAID PROFESSIONAL says. If this program does not work for you, then you have to go back to kindergarten or have your skull checked out because it is SO AMAZINGLY EASY! read more

Yesterday I had Marc from Bark Busters come to our home to begin training our 3 dogs - a 4 year old Plott Hound Lab Mix, a 13 year old Basset Hound Cockerspaniel Mix, and a 2 year old Puerto Rican Street Dog (Mutt) - whom we just adopted at the end of May. Although 2 of them were great - they were not trained the way they should have been and then bringing a 3rd into the mix who came off the streets we really needed help. The proper training techniques that Marc gave us during just the 1st visit really make me feel this will work. Last night was our first time testing out new boundries, etc. and this morning it was still working. Also, walking them (1 at a time) was wonderful - zero pulling on the leash and when I did a specific command as the bicycle rider went by - my dog just sat and watched - that was amazing. I know this will take time - realistically and a lot of repitition but I know it will be worth it! Thank you Bark Busters - can't wait to show you the results next time we see eachother. read more

We rescued Rico last October. He was off the streets of Miami and in pretty bad shape. Thanks to the kindness of two strangers he was brought to Paws Fur Recovery who took great care of him, nursing back to health. It took Rico some time to adjust to being a family member for the first time in his young life. He was obviously intelligent and a playful goofball but as he became more comfortable in our home he started displaying fear aggression and he acted out in negative ways. We tried several training tactics over the last few months but nothing really curbed the reactiveness. As a last resort we contacted Bark Busters Treasure Coast & Boca Raton. As others have commented, the change in behavior was immediate and profound. Marc made it so clear that when you communicate to dogs on their level, which is to say, what is hardwired into their DNA from millennia ago, they almost have no choice but to comply. Truly amazing experience. Highly recommend. read more

There are many choices, programs, and pricing when it comes to signing up for the training for our fur family. Bark Busters stood behind their reviews and transformed our dog's behavior in the 1st hour of spending time at our home. Moreover, they also help US/the owners understand what we are continuously doing wrong and why our dogs have not responded to any previous techniques, especially those we just "came up with" on our own. It is 5 hours after Mark left our home, and we can already see improvement in Hatun's and Olaf's behavior. We are so excited to continue applying the techniques we were shown and taught today, to continue applying with our pets, and receiving the resources and lifetime support Bark Busters agreed to offer. We love our dogs, and they are part of our family, but we certainly want them to know who the head of the household is. :) Mark is a gem trainer, and I would recommend wholeheartedly to anyone! read more

Maizy is a 16 month goldendoodle & Bentley is a 9 week Bernedoodle! Bentley will eventually be trained to be my daughter's emotional support dog, but first we have to get Maizy under control, so Bentley will start off on the right path! Marc & Karen came into our home with such a positive & warm energy. What they were able to teach us in just a few hours will change our world forever! Marc was amazing with both dogs & has patience of Job! :) We have been doing our homework with both dogs on a daily basis & we all can tell a huge improvement, esp., with Maizy! Bentley is still such a puppy, but he is doing great with the behavior techniques! We HIGHLY recommend Bark Busters!! I have even had small questions & Marc takes the time to text or call to help me through a situation. We can't thank you, both, enough for your time & love you have for what you do! Our family is forever grateful! The Sirens read more

We adopted a bonded pair of two year old boxers who are full of energy. With ten grandchildren who visit often we had to gain control of the dogs' behavior, and fast. These pups had been previously trained with the Bark Busters method by their caring owners, but when they came to live with us it was clear we didn't speak their language. Karen Deppe came to our home and equipped us with the tools necessary to "lead our pack." The results were instantaneous. Suddenly we had the pups' attention. They now come when they're called, and sit when told, they are no longer dining on our shoes, nor do they rush at an open door. We are continuing to work with them daily, but it is fun to see an investment of time pay such great dividends. We are comfortable knowing the dogs respond to us and our little ones won't be accidentally trampled while visiting. I whole heartedly recommend Bark Busters and Karen Deppe. read more

Marc and Karen came to my home to work with my two pups, Rosie and Midnight. I adopted Rosie 3 years ago and ever since I have not been able to take her on a peaceful walk. She would yank me down the street all while choking herself to the point of turning blue. After only a couple of minutes of using the Bark Busters training method, Rosie began to walk calmly all while paying attention to me and not her usual distractions. With consistency on my part in her training I know she will be a pleasure to stroll through the park with. Ever since Rosie corrected her behavior, Midnight followed suit. Midnight is also much calmer and looks for me to give her direction. I am so happy with the immediate results we've experienced. Marc and Karen helped us flip the dynamic in my household and I couldn't be more ecstatic. I highly recommend them if you want to have a peaceful coexistence with your pooch. read more

We had our training a few days ago and I am still confused and shocked as to how my four dogs completely fixed their behaviors in less than one hour. Since training, the dogs have gotten better everyday. We had no peace in our house due to barking dogs. We could not invite anyone over, couldn't talk on the phone without interruption and certainly could not enjoy a tv show. My son has friends over today and my dogs did not even attempt to bark at them. Not a single bark! Our lives are forever changed because of bark busters! It is may seem like a pricey program but it is worth every penny. It is comparable to the price of a standard dog trainer but with this you don't have to do copious amounts of work over months and months of time with the trainer to get a result that isn't half as good as bark busters will give you. If you are in the fence, do it! You will not regret it! read more
