This place is an absolute joke for fish supplies--like a bad comedy routine, but with less punchlines and more dead fish. Every time I walk in, I feel like I'm on an episode of "Survivor: Fish Edition," where I'm ignored by everyone and left to fend for myself. When I finally muster the courage to ask for help, I find just one worker in the entire store. Guess what? They're the cashier, too! Apparently, customer service here is a mythical creature, like a unicorn--everyone talks about it, but no one has seen it. I recently went in to snag some new saltwater fish, but after half an hour of waving my arms and making fish faces to get someone's attention, I was about ready to start a campfire and roast marshmallows while I waited. And don't get me started on the tanks. They looked like a scene from a horror movie--each one had at least one poor, lifeless fish floating around like it was on vacation and forgot to check out. If anywhere else in town sold saltwater fish, I'd swim over there in a heartbeat. Honestly, I dread walking in every time. If fish could roll their eyes, I'm pretty sure they would. read more

Store is immaculate and the customer service is amazing! This is seriously the nicest store I've been into in a while, you can tell they put time and effort in keeping it nice for their customers. Petco charged us for a size larger than she is. When we picked up our dog, they hadn't even give her a full cut. They bathed and blow dried her, buzzed her nose, and genitals, and left the rest shaggy. For the cherry on top, she smelled like vape smoke for two weeks afterwards. 0/10 would not recommend. read more

Our review of the grooming services can best be summarized by my 9 year old daughters reaction to our dogs new cut... "why would Petco do that to such a young dog?!" "He's so skinny!" Two dogs, services one year apart, two bad experiences. First dog came home with boils on the back of her neck creating a $400 vet bill. Next dog, following year (husnabd wanted to give them another chance), was taken for a bath and deshedding at 11:00 am. Kept waiting for the call to pick her up. At 6:00 pm, we just went over (phone calls were never answered). Our dog was still wet! They said it would be another 30 minutes. 7 1/2 hours?!? And she hadn't eaten all this time. To make things worse, we called the day before to confirm the quote they gave us. They said it was $50 more than the original quote ("Corporate tells us to do that.")! We said we weren't bringing her in unless we got the services for what we were quoted. This is the LAST time we will be going to Petco for anything. The grooming department is as bad as the Orem store. Groomers from both stores could care less about a pets well being. Took my chihuahua in at 8 AM I walked in at 6 PM because I hadn't gotten a call back on her progress and found her on the grooming table when I got there. She spent how many hours in a kennel waiting! Spanish Fork store closed its grooming shop because they couldn't keep anyone and after months of the store reorganizing I called to schedule an appointment the girl told me I could call the Orem store and when I told her of my experience she told me she used to work at the Orem store and if I wasn't happy then I wouldn't be happy now. What an idiot. Petco!!! Take notice your grooming departments are ruining you. read more

AWFUL experience today. Since February of 2020 before Covid hit hard, I've always been booking appointments to have my dog groomed. They haven't taken any walk ins to maintain social distancing. As restrictions eased up, it was still grooming done by appointment. Today I had an appointment at 10:30am and didn't get my dog back until 1! I called a few times and had an employee say "we said we would call you when she's done". I asked why it took 3 hours to do a simple bath, and they said they prioritize WALK INS over appointments. I spoke with the manager and she said "it's always been that way", no it hasn't... and then she said for an extra $12 along with an appointment they would prioritize my dog. I've never had this problem here until now and I hate to go "karen mode" but I am not pleased or happy with their staff at all. Save your money and don't waste your time on their grooming. read more

I had an appointment at 8:30 with the groomers and got a text this morning saying they don't open until 9 so I got there at 9:05 to the doors closed I waited outside until 9:20 until I called them where they said since it's 15 minutes after his appointment it was cancelled and the next dog was on the way. I waited outside until 9:45 and when nobody showed up I called again. They finally took my dog and told me they would call me when he is done. 11 rolls around and i haven't heard anything so I call again and ask when he will be done, they say 30 minutes. I show up at 12 and ask if he is done. Nope not done so I go back out to my car and wait. I called at 12:45 to ask about the timing and they say 30 more minutes to finish his hair cut and 30 more minutes to trim his nails. Seriously! I never leave bad reviews but this is just ridiculous. read more

K, pretty ticked off with Petco in Spanish Fork. Spent $150 on an aquarium setup for two dwarf frogs. When I was buying them, Petco said they have a 14 day warranty on the frogs. Well, one of the frogs got stuck to the intake of the water pump and died a few hours later. I put aqua foam around the intake vent to stop that from happening again. Called Petco and they said to bring in the dead frog. So today, I brought in the frog to them, they said they couldn't do the warranty because the frog was in the water. They didn't tell me I had to bring in a sample of the water that the frog wasn't in. At that point I told them, k, let's not deal with the warranty and I'll just buy another frog. They refused to sell me another frog until they could test my tanks water. Rrrrrrrrrr!!!! read more

I love new stores, they are soo clean. Came here with my kids and brought the pug along. The staff kept trying to give it treats, but my dog hates cookie treats, so it would catch them and spit them out. However it was fun to watch them try. The place has a great selection of many animals, and everything you need to take care of them. When I asked a few questions of the staff they seemed knowledgable, that was nice. It seems like too often staff go glossy eyed at some stores. They never had a pet, it is just a job. Pros: Staff, clean, animal friendly. Cons: Nothing much. read more

I just barely went in to get some new salt water fish, and sat there trying to get someone's attention for almost half an hour. On top of that, most of the tanks were dirty and all had at least one dead fish in each. If anywhere else around here sold saltwater fish, I definitely wouldn't shop here. I ran in to get some probiotic for my puppy and found a few other things I wanted for him. I went up front to check out and not a person in site. I stood there for 5 minutes waiting. I went to look for someone and found NO ONE to help me! I went back up front and waited again. STILL NO ONE! I put my things down and left. Very disappointing and infuriating. Anna a groomer at Petco is fabulous. She was able to give our 5 month old wiggly puppy a wonderful haircut. If Anna is still working at Petco when our puppy needs his second grooming, will certainly return to Petco The store is very clean and organized. The cashier was very pleasant too. read more

I gave it a low rating not because of the store in general, or the customer service, but because of the puppy training course we recently completed. At a cost of $129 for 6, "1 hour" classes is soooooooo not worth it! Was the trainer friendly and knowledgeable? Yes. However, the 1 hour class would normally last for a maximum of 45 minutes, with about 15 to 20 minutes of that in puppy play time and break time. One class only lasted 20 minutes total. The training they teach can totally be learned on your own from the internet/YouTube! I feel the training course would be adequetkly priced at $60 MAX. Don't use this service, you'll be extremely disappointed. read more

I went to take my dog to get groomed and her nails trimmed. I scheduled it and came the day after and when I showed up to drop her off I wasn't informed that she needed her rabies paperwork. So maybe petco you guys need to make that more clear so I don't waste my gas. You lost my business. read more

Ok I'm not a huge animal lover type guy but my wife and I do have some pets of our own so we went into Petco and I was absolutely shocked with the amount of dead fish I saw. I counted 23 dead/rotting fish before my wife and I didn't want to look anymore. I would think that a place that advertises good pet health and wellness would at least clean out the fish carcasses from the tanks. We were appalled and left shortly thereafter. read more

The reason im leaving a bad review is not because of there customer service there. There customer service is pretty good they always help me find the thing I need. The reason im leaving a bad review is because of the fish tanks. I had a fish that was 3-4 years old, he was really healthy but alone, all of his other buddies have died off so I decided to but him a new friend. So I went to petco since they were close. When I walked inside the fish tank looked a little murky but I didn't care to much. I found a fish that looked good and picked it out. They told me not to put any of the water in the fish tank because it might have parasites. So I used my net and didn't let any of the fishes old water in the tank. I put him in and they were both fine. A week or two later I noticed he got a little red on him and some skin peeling. I thought too my self maybe he scratched himself but he didn't. Another week goes by and he is really red got some gray spots and loosing skin. Then I took it seriously and went back to petco and bought some medicine type stuff for him. I put the stuff in correctly but 4 days later he died. My other fish is showing the same symptoms. It's because of parasites the other fish brought back from his old home. All I ask from Petco is please clean out your fish tanks and take good care of the fish. read more
