My child and I like coming here to look at all the different fish and birds they have.. call it a mini zoocation trip lol. This trip was to pickup an online order - a BOPIS! I love how convenient it is to do that. When I arrived, something was not syncing with their online scanning system and the in-store petco system - I told them I was picking up 2 items, but I DID have previous orders alongside that one.. one was canceled the other shipped to home etcetc... THIS petco system did not show my previous order was canceled and the staff retrieved my canceled items from their BOPIS area.. they were so kind and helpful. They also host several adoption groups some weekends so if youre looking for a new furrrrrrrrend (ahahah swe what I did there) this is the place. Definitely coming back for more food refills for my pups and BOPIS orders!! read more

Petco is my go-to place for getting my dog's nails trimmed. The staff is always friendly and does a great job, and the prices are amazing. If you go during happy hour, it's super cheap and such a great deal. Quick, affordable, and reliable. I highly recommend it for pet grooming needs! read more

I come to this Petco because it's closest to my house, and they have proprietary dog treats that they keep in a buffet type section that my dog really loves. She is a very picky puppy and doesn't like most treats, but she loves Petco proprietary treats. They were having a great sale today, they had their holiday dog clothes on sale For $7.99, normally $25. I got my dog a beautiful dress. I also got her a wonderful toy. The prices are good. As I said, in my last review, their shelves are not so good. They're always out of a lot of stuff. I raised my review one star because I got excellent customer service today from Mateo.. He took the time to look for the things that I needed and find me the best deal possible I really appreciate customer service. Petco, you have a gem of an employee with Mateo. read more

Walked in shortly before closing with the intention of purchasing a small plastic tank to keep on hand for our fish as needed but ended up walking out with a betta that we were trying to save because it did not look well. I mentioned to the cashier that we were trying to rescue him and that I was hoping he made it over night and she said they had just done a water change which was surprising given the fact that the cup was full of waste. Unfortunately the fish did not make it. They do not care about the fish. Go to Tiny aquatics for your fish needs. They take good care of their fish. read more

Okay so up front I don't have a pet. I do live vicariously through my girlfriend's three dogs, however. And I do truly love them. Often tooth disadvantage of my wallet. So my girlfriend drop me off here today with her newest puppy on a mission while she went to help with friend elsewhere. There was a rescue adoption event that day for Cuz I Matter, so there were a lot of new doggy friends to make. Unfortunately the mission I was set to accomplish turned out into a mission abort not of my own making. As a result, I wound up more or less stuck at the store with a puppy in a shopping cart for the better part of 2 hours. The puppy and I tried to make friends with every animal in there, but there are only so many times you can traverse all the aisles. I'll bet I tried every squeaker toy they had to offer. What struck me most about this Petco was the the staff. Every one of them wanted to meet the puppy and ask about it. I explained and they understood that I was stranded for a bit, so I just kept shopping. I wound up spending money I hadn't intended to for snack treats for the puppy and for a toy to keep her entertained while we waited. And the reason I did that was because I felt at ease and that the staff genuinely cared for me and my little charge. When my girlfriend came back later she also shopped and bought a large bag of dog food. None of what I experienced that day will make a difference to anyone but me, but it has totally changed my opinion of this Petco. read more

Petco at La Frontera (Round Rock) has a pretty good grooming work on dogs. we had Dominick (excellent groomer) who had a skills with dogs and general overall care on dog pets. we were very satisfied, happy, all worth his care and the money we paid Thank you and always keep up the good reputation. read more

Do not recommend this location for its grooming services. We dropped off our dog after receiving 3 calls and a text and an email to confirm our appointment with each person reminding us that "the weather is cold and rainy", which gave us the impression they really wanted us to cancel. When my husband dropped off, the groomer In taking our pup asked if we had come for a bath and nails, but he also reminded that we wanted anal glands expressed to which she tried to say that wasn't included with the bath. Fortunately, a more experienced groomer was also there who intervened telling the first groomer that indeed, it was. She admonished the first groomer telling too, telling her she needed to learn how to do it. Upon pick-up, we were told that the groomer was unable to complete the expression because our dog nipped when she tried. We know this happened because of inexperience because our dog is usually fine with the right person performing the job. Overall, our experience was less than satisfactory and we won't be taking any of our three dogs to this Petco location for grooming again. read more

We just finished a 6 week puppy class for our Aussie pup. Ash did a great job working with our puppy and we are super happy with the results. At graduation, our Piper girl got a certificate, two toys and a whole bag of treats. Definitely money well spent. We plan on signing up for the adult dog fundamentals class next. read more

Petco Vital Care Premier is ridiculous! I don't use the service enough and called to cancel and cancel from the app and they do not work with you at all! You are locked in for 12 months instead of month to month which is how I understood it! read more

Petco - Before VS after - Pet Stores Near Me - Round Rock, Texas

Awful and unreliable customer service. Ordered dog food delivery. First they said order is delayed. Then they said it's on its way. Then they said order is cancelled. Il'l never buy from these guys again. read more

I literally only come here because I live so close. And I love taking my dog out of the house. Other than those two reasons I don't really see the point in coming. Cashiers try to convince you to join their monthly subscription that I personally do not see the point in. Also can't answer questions properly when it comes to vetco. All I asked is where do they meet you in this store and they went on a whole monologue about how they're not always there. Okay? I didn't ask that. I had an appointment I just wanted to know where to find them when I come in. Listen to the question please. It's unfortunate they don't have an actual facility here. My dog literally got his check up in the small pets aisle. So I honestly didn't trust anything they told me. Definitely not coming back for another check up. Also, check up is pretty worthless. Online they don't state what they do or what's it for. I just got my puppy so I figured he needed one. It's literally just to check if he's good to receive vaccines. That we didn't even end up getting. I knew Petco charged more for pet food. But I didn't know the difference was over $30! I was in shock to see I paid a little over $30 more for the same brand, same size of food that I get my dog here when it's way cheaper at Walmart. So not coming here for the food or for the vet. I might come for doggy training. But I'm pretty much over coming here. Thanks for allowing dogs inside though! read more

I never have had any issues at all and they have a great selection. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

This review is solely for their store/products... not on the services they offer... I like the products they carry + I liked the cashier that was helping me out. How fitting that I found this for Kuma the bear: http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/lyZ9O6BMwvlYAxawyvbBKQ?select=1_-nZ4VA2jvBSJQ67y-6xQ And, good news is, the picky bear is actually really into this snack. This Petco is near my office - when I go - and it's great to be able to pop in and pick up some food for the herd. Petco has a far superior selection of quality food to PetSmart and their natural section is where I shop. My animals eat better...and more organic...than I do. Their prices are fair and their Petco Pals rewards are awesome. read more

Not sure what is going on with this store but too many times they did not have wither the dog food or pet beds it mentioned they should have had on their website, a only 2 of many examples. I have started to drive to PetSmart in Round Rock. They always seem to be well stocked. Also, shopping online at Chewy.com. Also, when I happen to shop on Sunday during their 'puppy play time' it is kind of concerning that aggressive pups are allowed to join this very small area to play together. I would not allow my 7 month old large breed puppy to play here. read more

DO NOT BOOK BROOKLYN My dog was groomed today by brooklyn and when I dropped her off for an appointment I specifically told brooklyn not to cut off my dog's long ear hair, or anything off her face(she's a german shepard-she doesn't need it cut) brooklyn confirmed it repeated it back to me and said "I'll only trim her feet and leg hair" I'm called 4 HOURS LATER to pick her up and all of her ear hair was shaved down to about half an inch. Thank God the manager was able to refund me but the damage is already done and let this be a lesson to me to not book stupid groomers and I hope I can save another dog from being groomed by brooklyn! read more

This review is strictly for their grooming services. While I usually prefer Petsmart over Petco for my pet stuff, I do bring my cocker lab mix here for his grooming needs. His haircut is fairly simple...just a straight shave down. You'd be amazed how other places have messed this up--jagged edges, uneveness, but Petco has consistently done a great job and he looks like a completely different dog. I know whenever I bring him here, it's going to be a stellar job. read more

This place was great! I like Candace, also usually shop at Petsmart for my pets items. This is just a little closer to my house so I decided to give it a shot! I came in found an associate who was knowledgeable about the products and walked out with flea and tick control for both my pup and my yard! The prices were average and my dog is happy! Thanks Petco! read more

This was the worst experience I have ever had when getting my sweet schnauzer groomed. The grooming staff were RUDE and unprofessional. PLEASE STAY AWAY if you need a schnauzer cut. I dropped my dog off with a full grown beard and skirt, and picked her up with everything (for the most part) shaved off completely. They blamed it on the last groomer and how uneven everything was. I did not get one phone call and they failed to mention it to me when I came in to check in on her. In fact, they were very agitated that I even came in to check up. What's even more heartbreaking is the fact that my dog walked out of there scared and timid. ***Please note that this is only a review of the grooming staff that handled my schnauzer. I did have positive interactions with the sales staff that day and bought a sack of the cookie bar cookies. read more

This place is a hot mess. My boyfriend and I signed up for training classes for our pug. It's a six week course that teaches basic commands and we're also supposed to learn how to correct different behaviors. Our classes started off well enough on the first go around. The second time, our trainer never showed up. Apparently there was a scheduling error, which is fine. No big deal, we live pretty close. So we reschedule and go to our second class. Petco teaches positive reinforcement, so any time our dog does a command correctly, he gets a treat. We warned our trainer that our pug can't have peanut butter. The second class, one of the treats had peanut butter. Even though the trainer himself said "no peanut butter, right?" like, five minutes before. Poor pug throws up later that night. Poor me has to clean it up at 2am. We verified with the trainer that we'd meet him later that week at our usual day and time. We both agree to this schedule. Does he show up? Nope. The extra star is to the manager Terry, who graciously gave us a refund. This trainer needs help...or a new job. Seriously, it's 11am, not 5am. If you can't wake up early enough to show up at 11am...look at your life, look at your choices. If anyone can recommend a good trainer in North Austin or Round Rock, send me a note! read more

We typically go to Petsmart but it was Sunday and they had already closed. We went to this location to pickup some litter and food for my kittens and decided to wander while we were there. So of course I stopped to see the ferrets and I was pretty upset. The cage was seemingly clean but both water bottles were off the hooks, the food was dried out and looked like it was molding over (I'm hopeful that it wasn't and it just looked that way) and the babies were sleeping in a dirty litter pan. I know ferrets are rambunctious little critters but the state of their pin was just saddening. Please try to, you know, actually care about animals if you work in a pet sore!!! Better note, the older woman that checked us out was lovely! We got pellet litter and she was knowledgeable enough to ask us if our kittens were used to it (they are) because most cats don't like change and she also helped the woman before us save some money on tanks. read more

I got the day off from work and wanted to take my baby Socks to get her nails trimmed and ears cleaned. I had never been to Petco before. Ricarda greeted me with a smile and salutation. She was very knowledgeable when I asked her advice on flea/tick medicine. I went in ala carte to pick what I needed done. She recommended one of the packages that was not only cheaper but got my dog got her nails buffed and her teeth brushed. She seemed to treat my dog like it was her own! Socks got her entire package done without a whimper! I highly recommend and will definitely be going back. read more

This place was far from deserving customer service rating at 100%. Not only did I think because it's a huge chain and they would be able to handle and take care of my two dogs, I figured they would have better employees working for them. I walked in yesterday and asked if I could get them hair cuts. The woman (pregnant chick) looked at the clock and half assed looked at her computer to check for availability, leaning over with one hand on the computer. She then said "I'm not gunna have time for these dogs" I said so, when can I bring them in?" She looks annoyed and looks at the computer ... I can't have you come in til Monday" Sooooooooooo I call today, ask if there is any openings. A woman answered and told me hold on let me Look... She then tells me "we have a lot of big dogs coming in today.. I'm not sure if I have enough kennel space" she continued to look then told me that she could squeeze me in this afternoon. So clearly the chick before didn't want my money or my business... no thank you petco. I'll never be back. read more

Had an appointment at noon today to get one of the dogs groomed. Wife and I arrived at 11:45, we were told that we would have to walk around the store since our groomer was not there and they did not have time to deal with us. I bought two gerbils from this location, both adults. I was told when I bought them that they were both males, and that they would be perfect cage mates bc they had grown up together. Well, here I am a month later with 4 baby gerbils because they weren't in fact both males. She's pregnant again, already, because the babies were born a few days ago, and we didn't know they were there bc they burrowed them. While they're adorable, this was definitely an unwanted surprise. read more

THIS LOCATION FOR GROOMING IS TERRIBLE. The foreign lady that works there is RUDE! Sebnem to be EXACT! Yea, you bitch. I explained several times NOT to cut my dogs hair. I only wanted a sanitary trim around his mouth, asshole and manly parts, but for some fucking reason, i pick him up and he's SHAVED TO THE SKIN! Like WTF. My baby is so uncomfortable and shivering without his coat. After having my appointment canceled and rescheduled SEVERAL times at this location JUST FOR THIS BULLSHIT, I refuse to book again. Every one in that bitch deserves to be fired. Do not book your fur baby here. They do not care!!! Take your money to a small city business that'll actually care for your dog. Some even travel! Fuck Petco AND Petsmart. I have terrible experiences every time. read more

Petco is a good place to get the necessities for your pet. They carry the Wellness Core food I need for my dogs, which isn't carried by the other major competitor in town. The staff is lacking in the service department. More than once the checker has spent time texting during our transaction. Lines have stacked up while the manager or other employees appear to be chatting it up in the office. If I didn't frequent this Petco on a regular basis, I would give them the benefit of the doubt, but it is pretty consistent. read more

My boyfriend and I just went in there today to check out their selection of bettas and to look at their saltwater fish. It's a pet store that my dog loves to go to. Enough said. I was never a proponent of buying their dog food brands like Natural Selection, etc. until I read the faults of the large corporate brands that sell in all of the main market grocery stores... .. now that I have had them and feed my large labrador them regularly, our dog has considerable less weight from all of the additives the other brands had and his energy has maintained itself a lot longer (IMO). Trust me, I love my animals and I am not a "swear by it guy".. but I noticed it. Additionally, they have always been good for clips, trims, and other grooming needs. The young lady at the doggy salon was very detailed. Overall, going to PETCO has been pleasant. They get us the food we need for our animals, groom them as needed, and allow my kids to see all the animals and explore on each visit like it was a mini zoo. read more

I do not review chains very often, but this one requires a little updating. I was not impressed with the cleanliness of this store. The floors are very dirty and everything just felt very dusty. The treats station had stuff all over it and was not clean, I probably would not buy treats from there. Overall, I wouldn't go to this location, I would go to the Unleashed location on Gattis school. It has a local feel and is much cleaner but they are owned by the same company. read more

If there are issues with the register you take the NEXT in line; you don't just pick whoever. I could have said something but it's not rocket science and I shouldn't HAVE to say something. Not the first time I've been disappointed here. I have come in 2-3 times weekly (two dogs and two cats) for the last three years. Between poor stock of cat food (I have a picky eater who just got off a feeding tube) and questionable customer service, I'll start ordering from the manufacturer. read more

Really woofin' love this store..... Like the goodies they have for the dogs. Four paws up for sure! Nice staff, easy to find things, just follow the signs.....the prices are a bit higher than even Petsmart, for example, but they always have what you need in stock. Meow, yeah! read more

I don't often shop here for my dogs primary food but we will go here to get treats since my guys are just as happy with Milk Bones as they are with the fancy treats the specialty shops have. And since I don't over feed the treats, the junkyness of the treats isn't a concern! That being said! for the last 12 years, this is where I have gone for all my reptile needs! I grew up owning Leopard Gecko's, all 3 of which I got from here - 2 purchased and 1 adopted. I will say this much to new lizard owners, do your own research instead of going based on what the sales associates say what is best for your lizards. Over the years I was given a lot of bad advice on what substrate and food was best for my lizards but by doing my own investigation on what they needed I was able to give them great and healthy lives. As of recent, my husband has taken a liking to Bearded Dragons. We got our first one at this location and had him for a little over 2 weeks and he had what appeared to be a heart attack. When we took it back to them and explained the situation, they let us know that someone else had reported a similar sad event with a dragon of the same hatch and said that it may just be that particular hatch. Being that it was outside of their warranty policy, we had low hopes for getting any sort of replacement pet or refund. To our surprise, the gave us a new lizard. Really appreciated everything they have done over the years and how nice they were about helping with the one that died. read more
