A store is commendable, even more so nowadays, when they serve the customer, not necessarily just try to sell you stuff no matter what. I had already put expensive parrot toys in my basket. Needed help finding a dog ramp for a geriatric pound puppy who has vision, gait and balance problems. I had already searched online in several places, read reviews. Became clear you needed to check these ramps out first. Had already been to two other local pet stores with unsatisfactory results. Went to Petco as third option because I was in the area. Staff showed me where the ramp(s?) were, explained a little. Then she asked me to wait a moment. Called a colleague at home who had several very large dogs. The colleague knew all about ramps. These are the features you need to look for, watch out for x, etc. Basically I received excellent information. The Petco had one ramp in stock; it would not fulfill my purposes. I did not purchase it. But because the service was so great, I requested further assistance from the staff person who was present and purchased more items before leaving the store. I will return to this store now and purchase more. Some stores don't understand when all you try to do is make an immediate sale, the customer goes elsewhere. Permanently. I have left baskets full of merchandise, in disgust, when people tried that. Of course you never return. But after this stellar customer service assistance, I will now drive out of my way to purchase at this Petco store. I will purchase more from the store vs online (as I had been). Professional pet supply purchasing assistance is alive and well at this Petco store. Much appreciated. Please consider patronizing this store. read more

Not bad it's a pet store I did end up getting I think a Petco card a credit card but it never came in the mail and it's on my credit report so I'm a little uneasy about that but overall they have the right food and the right bones and treats for your dog just a little bit pricey read more

I do not recommend going to Petco in Rockford. I had called on Saturday night and talk with a friendly lady on The phone about Cumberland turtles she said they had 6 in the tank come in and the lady. Would assist me and tell me which one were male. Or female. I had purchased 2 females from the Petco indicao the week prior and wanted to add 1 more turtle with them so Sunday. I woke up and drove 40 minutes to purchase a turtle there and asked Sam which one were male or female? Sam was very rude and said she was not allowed to discuss anything about the turtles with me so I decided to Google it and pick out the turtle I Thought was the one I wanted, I got Sam again and then she asked me what i was gonna do with the turtle i told her i was gonna add it to my fenced in pond outside. She said I was not allowed to purchase a turtle and put it outside. I showed her a picture of my fenced in pond and she was very rude and told me that they would not be selling me a turtle to put outside, But yet they have six turtles and a tiny aquarium. This is where I've found the cheapest bedding in bulk style for the little animals. With a PALS card, $12 for the largest Petco softwood bedding. I was treated miserably by Andreina who is a cashier on 11-04-2018.. Oh my goodness what a unfriendly Twatty Snob..She talked down to me didnt say Hi or Goodbye and threw the products and receipt at me. It does not represent the Petco name when you have employees treating faithful customers of over 35 years like utter garbage. I take BAJS to Petco on a regular basis. Inbetween his grooming i have to take him to have his nails trimmed again. His groomer name is Bonnie Gonzalez. She is at the Petco at Forest View Plaza. BAJS loves her. The employees at Petco love him as well and treat him with respect. I would recommend taking your pets there. I've been here many times and the cashiers are very friendly, however today I went in with a water sample from my aquarium because I have a fatigued goldfish. An associate lady kept walking back and forth through the aquatic room with a metal pan and made eye contact with me twice as I was standing there waiting with a bag of water to sample. she made no attempt to see if I needed help or even ask me to hold on a minute, I hung around for another 20 minutes or so before I decided this is ridiculous and left.
