Recently decided to try the Full Cheeks timothy hay and orchard hay. I was very happy with the quality. Both bags were really green and not hard rough pieces. My guinea pigs love this hay! Because we had matt's under the ears they would not groom our dog- I signed up for30 min Matt removal and bath -nail trim- my opinion the girls were having to much fun sitting around not having any dogs to groom to do their job. Generally, I buy treats and food here because of the comparable prices to Petco. Their house brand bedding isn't "bulk" enough for me (not a large enough amount, nor cheap enough). They also don't usually have that 96oz bag of hay (generally, the best deal out there). They have an extensive variety of small animals and fish. Best purchases here so far: -both chinchilla cages (GREAT deals) -brushes for the bunny (actually cat and dog brushes, but the Petsmart brand is cheap and still good quality). Get their in-store savings card- you'll get some savings in store (the guinea pigs were $5 off for card holder), and recently I've been getting money-off coupons in my email (like $1 off pet food and $5 off your next purchase-and I can print two of each). read more

We visit this store at least once a month for some of our pet needs. The have a wide variety of foods ranging from low quality to some high quality foods. I wish they had a bigger variety of higher end foods however. They also have treats, toys, and other animal related items. I am not impressed by the trainers. We took a training class and twice our class got delayed because they accidently scheduled two classes at the same time. How does that happen? The trainers we got also knew something about training puppies, but they also get several things wrong. I now use a dog trainer who specializes in dog training and get better training at a lower price. read more

Looking for a groomer? Piero is a phenomenal. Piero saw me struggling in the parking lot with my two little kids and over zealous golden retriever. He wasn't my groomer that day and it was evident that he was on his break or done with his shift- yet he still offered to help me corral all three! This meant so much to me! It fills my heart when someone offers to help a struggling mom- as it doesn't happen often! I figured I would take our pup to see him and I am so glad we did. He is extremely knowledgeable on our breed - pointing out a few of Arrow's features to highlight and what he would do to enhance them and listened to what I like(longer ears/head). He is always conscious of Arrow's allergies- we've never had an issue as we have had at places prior. He is always so sweet, great with our pup, and goes above and beyond to make him look beautiful. Ambivalent feelings about this location. Banfield has apparently closed business here so there's a whole empty section of the store. They don't carry my dogs brand of food and don't have a big selection of clothing that fits my small dog. There's usually only one person working the front register and this person is constantly requesting help at the register because there is always a line. The grooming section did a fantastic job on bathing and clipping my nervous pup and they provided excellent customer service. My mom loves this location for her cats' needs. The plus is that is you don't find what you need at this store you can drive across the street to Petco.. which is what we usually do, along with the rest of the customer base. I've had a larger more diverse section at other Petsmart locations so I am hoping this area can pick up a bit because there aren't many other choices nearby. read more

I try to only go here for most all my pet needs. To begin, the trainers are awesome, one of a kind. I've been to private trainers before but never liked their methods nearly as much. As far as the store goes, it is competitive with the other chain pet stores in price, if not lower. They seem to have most everything we may need besides maybe a Vet on duty. Grooming dept. we have used as well. Only place we go for grooming besides doing it ourselves to save some money. It's a very pet friendly store. read more

We go here at least once a week, and have for years. Our dog was also groomed at this location until the groomer moved to the Machesney Park store. We like her so much (our dog does, too) that we still take him all the way out there for grooming, but the majority of our shopping is at this location. It is also bigger than the MP store. Many of the employees recognize us as soon as we walk in, and the rest know us by our dog, who has a very distinct gait when he walks. Either way, we are always greeted when in the store, and the staff are always fantastic. Most of them have been at the location for several years, and some of them have the same types of pets we do, so we are always learning new things. There is a Petco across the street, but I enjoy the people and atmosphere at PetSmart, and it is a bigger store with a far greater selection of products. We did dog training at this location as well, and were very happy with the instruction. I can't say enough about the people here. read more

We have been taking our Yorkshire the for years to the grooming saloon and it has been fine. This last time we dropped him off and when we picked him up he has the worst cough (which he never had before). It is constant. When we called they said nothing happened when he was there. This is a big coincidence and even though we cant prove it, when we picked him up dogs were tied to the base of tables and they said they didn't do that with him. We believe he choked himself or they were rough with him. We are going to get a vet's diagnosis to see if we can prove any of this. read more

I have been getting my puppy Zues trained there for just over a year now. He was an abused rescue with severe separation anxiety. He wouldn't go near other animals let alone other people. With the help of the trainer Denita my baby has become a wonderful dog. We started with private lessons and now we do group activities. He gone from being afraid of everything to playing with other dogs and letting the other pet parents pet him. Denita often uses Zues as an example of what types of training can be taught in her classes. When we walk into the door everyone knows us and comes up to pet our puppy. I would never go anywhere else or have anyone else train my animals. read more

Petsmart training class was good and helped socialize my dog. Prices are fair for goods and services. Problem is with grooming policies. Groomers are allowed 15 minutes with your dog and if not finished, "oh, well!" I used them for grooming for a couple years when I couldn't do it myself, but EVERY TIMEhad to finish grooming at home. I found a different groomer that is outstanding and also quite a bit cheaper. I don't think groomers here are incompetent, I think company policy prevents them from doing a good job. read more
