Located in what was originally a Genovese Drugstore, Pet Supplies Plus Lake Ronkonkoma is the east…read moreanchor of Lake Shore Plaza. Where Genovese Drugs had fulfilled the needs of humans, Pet Supplies has fulfilled the needs of their pets. This pet store features aisles of dog, cat, and pets essentials, live fish, small animals, and reptiles, a grooming salon, and more. My Dad and step-mom have been here many times for the needs of Shane, the family labradoodle. On some of their visits, they have picked up Blue Buffalo and used the grooming salon to trim his fur. When my Dad and step-mom are away, Shane is uncomfortable around strangers. During the recent grooming session, Shane was acting up causing it to end early. Their groomers were professional and refused to charge my Dad and step-mom for their time. The first of my three visits here was with my dad to pick up Blue Baffalo for Shane. After this visit my Dad told me about the cute kittens up for adoption. This is what brought me here two more times. On my second visit the kittens were adopted. On my third visit here, when I walked inside then made a right and proceeded past the front registers, my heart melted when I saw the black kitten in the cage. It was so tempting for me to walk out of here adopting the kitten. Unfortunately, I live approximately 3,000 miles away. This is a pet friendly store where customers can walk around with their dog. I walked around here with my step-mom and Shane. Shane even befriended a feret up front. From the two times that stopped by here, I find it kind of neat that there is a superstore appearance at the same time there is a mom and pop vibe. The employees here were friendly. One of the women working in the back asked to say "hi" to Shane. The store is an enjoyable place to browse. I enjoyed looking at the kittens for adoption, the live fish, reptiles, and small animals. I also enjoyed watching the dog explore a store that was the equivalent to me exploring Toys R Us when I was a child. Seeing him look at the aisle of bones was like seeing me walk through an aisle of Hot Wheel cars during my childhood. As far as value, the price is most likely going to be higher than the chain discounter. However, there is the value of the Community having a mom and pop pets superstore where decisions are made locally instead of at some faraway corporate office. The mom and pop running Pets Supplies Plus Lake Ronkonkoma are obviously doing something right since they have been in business since 2010 and I am the latest of several Yelpers giving them Four Stars.

Shout out to Emerald City Dog Spa in Rocky Point!…read more Letting everyone with doggies they love in on our little secret- they are fantastic for both GROOMING and BOARDING!!! Hello everyone! I don't normally post on social media anymore but I had to give a shout out and review for Emerald City Dog Spa INC. In Rocky Point!! We recently left Daisy (77 lb sheepadoodle) and Duffy (42 lb Wheaton terrier) with Michelle at Emetald Emerald City Dog Spa INC. For 8 days while we went on a vacation. We will never go anywhere else again!! So many wonderful things to say it's actually easier if I list them lol - They had a lovely large room (12' x 10'?) all their own, with their own window looking outside to boot! They had so much room!! - they got to play outside in a fenced in safe play area under her supervision - she played with them and fussed with their food the whole 8 days finding ways to have our very picky eaters eat! - they were under camera supervision as well as her supervision and kept safe at all times - Michelle texted us and sent photos throughout each day making us feel relaxed and at ease knowing they were in great hands - Michelle takes only one family at a time so we knew there were no other dogs to worry about - Before coming home they each got a bath and blowout and were so soft and smelled so lovely - and best of all - Michelle was just lovely to work with. She was so friendly, helpful, and caring we feel like we've met a new friend. So there it is! For everyone else like us that worries about our babies I had to post this, and as a big thank you to Michelle too- Oh- and she is fantastic at making them look beautiful. Duffy is a hot mess when it comes to grooming and she is patiently getting him to relax and go with the flow. They always come out fantastic But now that I wrote this- you guys better not hog her so much we can't get in!!

They were shaved and full of bloody scrapes and cuts and their haircut is just awful. My little guy's nails look like they were cut on a cheese grater. When we discussed our disappointment with her via text, she responded with no dignity and no class. She defended herself and spoke rudely to us and had every excuse in the book as to why they were cut that way. I have never seen my beautiful dogs look so terrible. Also, as a groomer, you are to notify the owners if you think the dog needs to be shaved that low due to mats. My dogs do not have mats and if any of them did by any chance, we should've been notified of this prior to her taking it upon herself to do such a drastic, uneven job. Any reputable business owner would not justify their mistakes via a text war, they would acknowledge and sympathize with the angry customer who just paid a ton of money and did anything to make it right. She was texting so many times that I had to block her from my mother's phone. The way she displays her social media and her love for animals is not what you get in person. Save your money. You've been warned. (See after grooming photos and a before photo of our beautiful babies day before the grooming appointment.) UPDATE: After my mom blocked her from texting, she started texting me and threatening me.

I was at my wits' end when I found Howllywood Groomers, and I'm so glad I did. From the start, booking an appointment was super easy and stress-free. Somehow, he managed to work his magic, and my cockapoo came out looking (and smelling!) amazing. I couldn't believe how calm and happy he seemed afterward. It was such a relief to find someone who clearly cares about animals and knows how to handle even the fussiest ones. An absolute pleasure from start to finish--I'll definitely be coming back.
