Very disappointed with Petco. Bought a 60.00 fish tank yesterday. Opened box, glass was cracked. Took it back today for exchange and was told no returns due to Covid. I explained defective and just wanted to exchange. Told no. No exchanges or refunds "due to Covid." Store packed with customers a few without a mask, and in grooming area, no personnel were wearing masks! But yet, you can not exchange a defective product. I was told to try the manufacturer to see if they could help. I asked - don't you stand behind your merchandise? She just shrugged her shoulders. No refund nor allowed to return! read more

Set my daughter in there today to pick up an extra small training crate for our new puppy. The lady there or the worker who my daughter tried to get a helper said that the crate was too small for the breed of puppy that we have obviously yes it is going to be too small when she gets bigger I have another 36 inch crate when she could've gone into but the lady refused to sell my daughter the training crate. If this is the way Petco does their business they need to get out of the pet store business because as far as I'm concerned you're full of crap crap. Not only that the crate on Petco.com is $12.99 and in-store is $59.99 boy are they trying to rip people off by having at one price on the website and another price in store. read more

Today I brought my dog in for a nail trim and I also purchased a flea collar, my bill was 80.00 which was fine, but the manager lady came up front and my dog started barking at her. People were walking around my dog and everything and she never barked at anyone until that lady came up to her. The manager lady then told me that I was not to bring my dog back to this store if she was going to "act like that". I just spent $80 in your store, and I've been using Petcos services for the past 5 years. My dog was trained there, groomed there, all food was bought there in the past. I do not recommend this place at all. I brought my 8 month old Maltese here to get groomed; however, she was scalped. I know it's just hair and it will grow back but the way they cut her is totally unacceptable. Maybe I should've walked out when I walked in the grooming salon and seen the staff there was covered in tattoos, body piercings, and big holes in their ears. To me that is far from professional. I didn't want to judge them in hopes that they would do a good job. Anyway I went to pick up my dog and I just stood there in shock. How can PetCo even expect me to think paying $48 for the most ridiculous, messed up hair cut can be fair? Even my dog looks sad after what they did to her. read more

I had the occasion to stop by this location a few days before Christmas for a few gifts for my pet. I will admit outright I am a PetSmart girl so this was a different experience. They're very expensive which is kind of a stinker and they don't have many clearances items; Sadly, any you may happen upon in a clearance bin is likely there by accident. All of their dog beds are plush, shiny, and beautiful, but not a good fit for my sweet but grouchy old maid. (one of those types that like to scratch before they lay.) No outdoor beds were available at the time I visited. I can't say for sure that they don't carry them but I didn't notice any at the time. I did notice the beds they had available were a lIttle spendy, so I made my way to Marshalls across the way for mine. Their store layout is a little different then I've seen before, cat items and dog collars & beds are first on the right when you walk in, leading to other cat items and then to dog bowls, treats & foods for both in the back, lizards, fish and those sorts alike are in the left side with their foods and bedding (etc.) there. The workers were friendly, They did their job well. What more can be said about that. Love the goofy little treats they have for dogs in back, I remembered to take pictures of those, not much else though. read more

The price seems to go up each time, while the quality goes down. This time there was no blending in my dogs shave, it just stopped in a jagged line at her head. She didn't get her usual hair bow this past time, either. But the most concerning part: I've had my dog in for grooming 4 times in the past 9 months. This grooming is said to include nail trimming. This month I had to take her to the vet because her nails were splitting and had to be cut down to the end. The vet said her nails had NOT been clipped in at least a year. read more

The only reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because there are some really friendly knowledge people that work here. I know because this is the sole location I shop at. I forget the guy who helped me out today, but he was extremely misanthropic and as I asked him to price a few items he just looked and me and let out a deep sigh. He made me seem like I'm a pain in the ass, which I wasn't, I was very friendly and patient. I've dealt with the manager(at least I think hes the manager) a lot and he's a great and friendly guy. I took my dog there to be groomed and will not be taking her back. I dropped her off at our scheduled time and had not heard anything by 4:30 so I decided to stop by and see if she was done. The groomer said all she needed was her nails trimmed and ears cleaned so she would be done in an hour. I went back at 5:30 since I still hadn't received a call and the groomer had gone out to lunch. After 5 min the cashier came in and got my dog and she was still wet (like she had just gotten done being groomed) and had loose hair all over her. It was obvious she had been rushed through. The cashier was not very polite either and barley said two words to me. I called the Petco customer service line and explained the situation. I was told I would hear back after two days and still nothing. I will not be taking either of my dogs there to be groomed again. read more

I'm glad they opened this Petco. It's a few traffic lights closer to home than the Petsmart and they also sell Eukanuba for the dog. I don't like the parking lot, but it's not their fault...all Virginia parking lots seem to be the same. I will not be returning to this location...my two pups usually come in for their walk in nail trims/gland expressions...the grooming area has always seemed a little dingy and dirty but it's close to home so I dealt with it...then today we waited for 15 minutes without ever being helped or even acknowledged there was one lady grooming a yorkie and I could see her through the glass...she saw me standing there and never even acknowledged me or gave me a "just one minute".....then she yelled at the yorkie for moving!...yelled "stop!" And the poor thing was shaking....that's when I walked out...petsmart down the street will now be getting my business read more

I've been to this location lots of times. Mostly just for dog food and treats. Today I took my precious little baby girl for a much needed bath and haircut. I have a spoiled rotten miniature dachshund, Biggie Smalls. She's bad, not like biting and growling bad, but she's definitely spoiled rotten to the core, and not a huge fan of baths or strangers. I'm sure I had more reservations about this appt than my dog did, but everyone was super nice. Kelly was super nice to me and my little dog. She told me my dog was good during the service, I'm skeptical but it was nice for her to say so. It did seem a little overpriced, but it's worth it if my little girl gets treated well! This was exactly what she needed. Now she smells great, even her breath smells good! Her nails were trimmed, ears cleaned, and the cut is perfect! I'll be back to this location for all of Biggie's grooming needs. read more

I usually take my yorkie there but i will not be going back.I always get the full grooming and the last time i told them i wanted more hair off her face and the groomer kind of gave me attitude and still didnt take enough off.Tried again today and her nails were not trimmed down so when i called they put Brittany on the phone who groomed her and i was told she couldnt cut them any shorter cuz she'll bleed and wen i told her her nails are usually trimmed way more she kind of dismissed me.WE WILL NOT BE GOING BACK!!!ANY suggestions in the chesterfield area? read more

I took my Springer Spaniel pup in for his first grooming and was so nervous. Explained to Kelly what I would like, and she was just amazing! I did not want him to be shaved, just clipped and trimmed up, toe nails, ears, etc. He looked amazing when I picked him up. AND he still looked like my puppy, no some shaved rendition. I been a PETCO customer for the past 3 years. I went into this store yesterday afternoon, I was help by a woman by the name of Melanie, short, white, and red hair. She is also the manager for this store, she is RUDE, MEAN, and has no business to be working in costumer service because she doesnt know how to treat people like me whose portion of the money I spend with PETCO goes towards her salary. Melanie is the WORST person I been helped with in a very longtime. Why would you place someone that has no work ethic and tells their customers that I should be lucky that she is helping me on a return because according to her PETCO has changed their 30 day return policy to a 15 day policy. she needs to be let go ASAP.
