It's very unfortunate this one is the closest one to us now because the staff is terrible. Cashier girl acts like she's there by force, doesn't greet you or have the basic customer service skills. This is my second time shopping here; she will rush to get you out the door, seems annoyed anytime if you mention you have a discount code or points to redeem. Another worker also looked miserable to be there. She saw me pushing a cart with dog food while carrying my baby in their car seat and she WATCHED as I struggled to move the shopping carts out of the way because they were scattered and blocking the walkway & when I finished the just walked past me without saying a word. SO tempted to make the drive to the Parham location each time because they were the nicest & most helpful. read more

If you're looking for packman frogs, this is the place! My husband and I found the sweetest little albino strawberry packman frog for our daughter here. The young ladies that helped us knew their stuff! They placed him on hold for us and helped make the surprise so much fun. Our girl was thrilled. The shop associates knew what we'd need for proper food, they told us all about his temperament and how he preferred to eat, found us proper substrate and helped us keep it nice and moist for our new friend and his ride home too. I have been taking my 3 dogs there for over a year. My groomer, Laura was going out on maternity leave and I rescheduled the appointment. I told the groomer, Will, that one of my dogs is terrified of a male groomer as he was hit by one. Today they called me to tell me Laura is out and I have to reschedule my appointment. I tried to explain that Will set the appointment himself as he explained earlier that Lauren would be out. He vehemently denied talking to me and said I was wrong-he didn't schedule me. I called him out on the conversation, things got heated and he hung up. I called back and he "pretended " he couldn't hear me and hung up again. I called back and spoke to Troy, the manager. He pretty much stood by Will regardless of his poor customer service. BOTTOM LINE: DON'T BOOK THERE UNTIL LAUREN RETURNS. If he has this attitude, how will he treat the dogs? read more

I love this pet supplies store, each time I have been in, the staff have been exceptionally outgoing and friendly. They have a very large selection of dog and cat food both premium and raw. It's such a colorful bright and cheerful shop, and so clean! Even if I do not specifically need something it is just fun to go in and look around. One memorable shopping experience I was looking for a reflective harness for my older black dog and without even asking for help, one of the kind staff members saw i had my hands full with her and my puppy, she came over and actually fit my dog with the correct size harness, that was completely unexpected and greatly appreciated. I love this place! They are fast and friendly, and have so many varieties of food at the store. I used to have to wait a week or more to get a certain dog food shipped to me, but now I can just walk into a Pet Supplies Plus store and pick it up right off of the shelf! Online orders for pickup are a breeze, are ready fast and if you want curbside pickup, that's always an option. The staff here are great. They are so sweet to our dogs and always so friendly to us. They've got a pretty wide variety of pet supplies, although sometimes we have a hard time finding specific brands, particularly of wet cat food. My dogs love going because they always get lots of pets and cookies! It has a very similar feel and set up to Petsmart or Petco but a little smaller and friendlier. read more

Our veterinarian said PSP is the best place in the area to go for guinea pigs/cavies, and based on my experience, she's absolutely right! The staff was very knowledgeable (Darby helped us) and made sure we were set up for success with our new pets, recommending supplies and reviewing them honestly. When we had questions about pet health, Jennifer and Andrew went above and beyond to make sure our pets had good care and were on the road to recovery. I got my leopard gecko from this place and they were the only pet store not using sand as substrate (which is EXTREMELY bad for leos and can cause fatal impaction)! All of the other pet stores in the area seemed to have inexperienced staff who often answer simple questions with an "I don't know.". Most of the staff seemed like they knew a lot about the animals that they care for. And in the one case where an inexperienced staff member (who was obviously new) was confused he had others to back him up and help him with the issue! This is what I love to see! Just a short update review. I mostly only use their dog grooming service. I was very pleased when I first tried them out in 2014, but then very disappointed in 2015 (see review below). Last Friday, I couldn't get on PetSmart's grooming schedule until the next day so I decided to try Pet Supplies Plus again. To my delight, they were able to get my dog in the same day... within an hour no less! My border collie was cleaned, brushed and ready in less than two hours. Anna did a wonderful job and was very courteous. I was also impressed with the friendliness of the other staff in the store. And when it came time to pay, they opened up a second register just for me so I wouldn't have to wait behind another customer who had a complex purchase. So I'm happy to report that Pet Supplies Plus seems to have hired additional, competent groomers and are once again, able to service pets as quickly (and well) as they had in 2014. And the grooming services are even a bit cheaper than PetSmart... bonus! :) read more

First off the location does not do this store any justice. It's located in Belgrade Shopping Center with the Kroger across from the Shell station. The staff is always very attentive and friendly every time I walk in. They are very knowledgeable about their products, animals in general, and they always have great recommendations for new products to try. The rewards program they offer sends me coupons and keeps me up to date on possible recalls. I'm not very familiar with the grooming services offered but I know it exists and have heard of no complaints. I recommend this pet store to everyone I know, even if they live outside Midlothian. If you like having your time wasted, this is the place for you!! They booked me an appointment for a bath and haircut for my dog without informing me that he needed proof of rabies shots (which is fine happy to oblige and that is part of their safety system) so the next day when I bring my dog in I get turned away and waste my time and gas. I don't have many normal hours to get this stuff done, this was a big deal for us and I was so excited to finally check it off the list because my dog has thick hair and has been hot all summer. Thanks again for wasting our time and booking us an appointment you weren't even sure you could do (like I said it would've been fine if I'd been told in advance, the day before the appointment about the rabies info but nope!) read more

We like the service and the value. We buy cat food at the Belgrade store and there is always a good selection of grain free high end wet food. Our cat is unbelievably picky. I do not want to invest in 24 cans of something she liked last week only to have her turn up her nose this week. The people who work there are always friendly and sure we get the benefit of any coupons they might be offering. We are very happy to have them in the neighborhood. I booked a grooming appointment for the holidays and when I got to the store I was informed the groomer was not there and there was no back up. I tried to reschedule but they told me they were full. This is at xmas so I couldn't get my dogs groomed for the holidays. They didn't even have the decency to call me even though they said they did. I went through all my messages and there wasn't one there. I don't have much time to do these things and they wasted an entire morning of my time. They don't care about the customers. They never have my dogs food in stock and I have to go to other stores to get it. This is one of the worst pet stores I have ever been in and the only reason I was going was because it was close to the house. This was a big deal as I always get the dogs done for the holidays. read more

I really love this store. All the employees are super friendly and will go out of their way to help you find what you're looking for. For example, the cat litter that we use is always out of stock. They were kind enough to put in a separate order for me and call me when it was in stock. They also explained why it was so hard to keep in stock. That said, they must have fixed their inventory because it has been on the shelves every time I have gone into the store. Have been getting my 2 dogs groomed here for years and we have never had any issues or delays with bringing in the rabies vaccine. I was under the impression that the last time I brought in the information for their rabies it would be entered into the system for future grooming appointments. Today I showed up for my grooming appointment for both my dogs and they asked for the rabies information which I proceeded to say I thought was on file. When she told me it was expired I called my dad to have him send me the record when I was told the 5 minutes it took to receive the email would set the groomer back until 10 pm and that I should reschedule. I showed her the vaccine record and she said she needed the expiration date and I proceeded to scroll down the picture to show the date that my dad had received it. Before I even get to the record for my other dog she is telling me theres either a 1 or 3 year rabies vaccine as I am trying to show her my dog got the 3 year. After being interrupted I decided to cancel both dogs appointments and I will not be returning back to this store. We have never had any problems and when I went to go home to try and find the rabies vaccine paperwork and came back in because my dad had emailed it to me the groomer had to apologize for being rude. She recognized that she was being rude in the initial encounter and did not change her behavior after apologizing. It is disappointing as we have had no issues with Will when our dogs get groomed by him, but this has left a bad taste in my mouth and I will be finding a new groomer. read more

Best result we've had at a groomer in town! We have a collie/GSD mix and have him shaved down all over. Petsmart never manages to understand that and gives him a teddy bear face. And when we tried the groomer at our vet clinic, we were told that our dog was a nightmare and should be anesthetized for his next groom. But the groomer here said he was a dream. Left off a star because we had to go back to get his tail trimmed, but otherwise did a fabulous job! read more

What a cool pet store!! I can seriously shop here all day. We came in with our 5 kids and they had a great time looking for stuff for our puppies. We have two 16 week old Yorkie puppies. They are on a raw way of eating. This store had both Stella & Chewy's and Primal. We bought their food plus some other stuff. The staff here were so friendly and attentive. I have a border collie / springer spaniel mix who is extremely difficult to groom. I brought my little buddy to Pet Supplies Plus and WOW, he came out gorgeous, far exceeding my expectations! I buy all my pet food there. I have 3 dogs and the store manager Katie spent a lot of time with me to guide me on the best food for my 3 4-legged kids. Awesome store. The groomer here (Courtney) was so gentle with my dog. She did a thorough job and my dog seemed comfortable with her. He used to whine when I took him to Petsmart to get his nails trimmed but he did not whine once with Courtney. Would recommend this store to anyone and everyone. read more
