I shopped around for a good grooming salon for my dog. He needed a bath bad! The mobile groomers wouldn't take a dog his size, and some places were booked solid through the holidays (but primarily based on a shortage of groomers). Blue Ribbon took me in on short notice, and they were fully staffed. The prices were great, and what I liked was the hand drying and not blow drying. Makes a big difference to the anxiety level if a dog and keeping from burning the dog's skin. Professional and customer oriented service! My dog was returned to me happy, smelling good, and at the time promised. Don't forget to bring a copy of the rabies certificate to keep the groomers and other dogs safe! If I could give 0 stars I would! They totally butchered my Bernedoodle! Shaved him bare rather than take the time to work on any mats or knots in his fur. Cut him so close next to his mouth it looks like they almost cut him. He now looks almost like a Dalmation. And his nails were barely clipped and still sharp. His face not even washed! Still dirty with saliva stains. I had an unused Groupon for $59 which had expired and they acted like they were doing me a favor by applying it to my grossly overcharged bill! Holy smokes! $125 and my dog doesn't even smell good? I could have shaved him bare! STAY AWAY! ABSOLUTELY HORRID! read more

I've been taking my two dogs to Blue Ribbon for years and have always had a very positive experience. Both dogs are rescues and one is particularly anxious because of an unkind past. We have been using this business to groom our poodle for years and they are great. We definitely recommend!

STAY AWAY from this pet grooming salon, and especially Kathi Johnson who should probably retire. I drove 2 hours to get there, and within 20 minutes of leaving my dog, she had butchered a long poodle puppy cut, and was calling me to pick up the dog because she was "anxious and uncooperative". Apparently they only groom dogs who have been sedated?? I hardly recognized my poodle pup....with all her body hair roughly razored off - way too short - and one back paw done. Her furnishings, top knot and ears remained untouched....I will have to have her completely razored off and start over again. I am just heartsick. Find someplace else to go...anyplace would be better than the amateurish attempt to groom my poodle by the salon owner, Kathi Johnson. read more

These people are NOT professionals. There is no way to leave a review on google even the maps on their pages do not work. I normally groom my own papillons as I show them myself but got cancer and can no longer show or groom. I wanted a good professional groomer that knew how to groom a papillon. These people are new to the area and after reading their extensive lies and reviews (I think they remove all bad reviews) I called and got a young girl and told her what I was looking for, a puppy cut with ears (fringes not cut and tail not cut). Anyone with any grooming knowledge of different breeds should know how to trim and cut the hair from between the pads of feet on a pap. Not this place. I made an appointment that was 2-3 weeks out for his grooming with the girl telling me if there was a cancellation they would call which never happened. In the meantime I sent them 2 emails to be sure that he was clipped as he should be. So today my daughter took my 12 year old pet (Thank God it was not my show dog) to be groomed. She had pictures on her cell phone to show them what we wanted. They seemed to understand which they did not since when she went to pick the dog up he was bathed but not clipped or groomed as requested. My daughter told them that and that I had sent 2 emails and pics to them and their comment was they were too busy to check their emails. She asked for 2-3 weeks??? So they took him back saying that was another 2 hours work for them and were very rude. When she returned to get him his tail was cut off on one side, feet still not done. I almost had an attack when I saw him. They had taken his fur down on his body with a #3 blade as I had originally asked..Not only are they very expensive but IMHO it is false advertising to say they are a stylist and years of grooming and lead you to think you will get something you will not. I have looked on here and there is no place to leave a review or on the net nor will google maps work with their site. My advise to you is to go elsewhere and not be taken in as I was and be so disappointed. I would not list them as professional nor a stylist. Petsmart does a better job. read more

I came to blue ribbon because I saw a Groupon for a dog grooming. I normally go to holiday barn which is extremely expensive! I had such a good experience with making the appointment, dropping him of, AND picking him up. holiday barn is more of an all day thing and it's frustrating to not have your pet with you for a whole afternoon with blue ribbon they quoted me 3 to 4 hours and had him done within 3 1/2. The staff is extremely nice and they really seem to care for the animals. I will definitely come back. thank you so much for this great experience. read more

We have been going here for over a year. I have a small 7 pound dog who gets groomed every 8 weeks or so and it has always been a good job. This past time we noticed he was cut under his chin from a razor with no guard on it. I'm more upset that our groomer didn't bother to tell me and likely just thought I wouldn't notice that my dog had been hurt. This makes me really sad bc I thought they were doing a good job but clearly don't have enough professionalism to let me know when there was an issue. I can't return to a place where I know he has been hurt. Now I know why he's terrified every time we walk in there. read more

I have never been so disappointed. My dog is a 4 year old service animal for my husband, who is a veteran. They actually muzzled him, saying that he tried to bite them, which is ridiculous, considering he has been groomed many times without issue. They assured us they do ears with the grooming and did not, when asked about it, they said it would be $50 extra. Will never go here again!!! read more

Run.. to get here. Proprietor Mary Beth is awesome. Shop is located in a strip mall on Midlothian Turnpike in Chesterfield. It speaks volumes when the place isn't maddening and there are dogs there!! Clean, professional great service at a reasonable price. This was the first time that we brought our daschund mix there and she will be back again. Drop off your furry companion, go the sports grille or down to the mall. In about 2 hours, you will have a great looking and smelling and happy furry friend. Be sure to have a copy of your dog's shot record available for review by phone or paper. read more
