If you love your pet please don't take the risk of going here. Several other GREAT places within 5 miles. This place is extremely dirty including mold. These dogs are neglected stuck in crates without water. The dogs sit in feces and urine. Vaccinations are NOT required to be updated. Many dogs are coughing and showing respiratory illness. The clients are NOT made aware. Outside time is limited in tiny unsupervised yards. The owner is NOT honest or transparent to the clients. Just an honest review from a dog lover. If you love your pet DO NOT BRING THEM HERE! She will let your dog sit in feces/urine and only give dogs water when they are outside in group (which has caused many fights here.) The "enrichment" time she claims the dogs receive is actually 10 minutes or less for each rotation. "Enrichment" being movie time, story time or having the dogs participate in limbo. She does not check or care if your pet is ill or up to date on vaccines. She will let dogs with expired vaccines continue to come in. Vaccines including rabies, distemper, parvo, and boardetella. Dogs are always sneezing and coughing and ALWAYS in very small dirty kennels. The kennels do not always get cleaned daily (which leads to the spreading of infectious diseases) and they clean the kennels by spraying with disinfectant and water then vacuuming up all of the water. They do not scrub the kennels so there is still caked on dirt/waste in every single kennel. When they do get let outside they are not always being watched regardless of what she says. She is a liar and a manipulater. She is in this field for the money and will create every excuse possible to make sure her business stays running. She is rarely even there and when she is all she does is pretend to know all the dogs that come here daily all week long!! The employees sit inside while the dogs are outside in the FREEZING cold with no shelter. Dogs have died from escaping or being choked to death by tight slip leads and the employees responsible for this still ACTIVELY WORK THERE TODAY. She will let your dogs play in group with injures and not inform you until you pick your dog up and see it for yourself. These poor animals do not deserve this treatment. If you board here please reconsider. The staff is not being paid what they are promised and fights happen all the time. All of the vents and drains are covered in mold. (Call and schedule a free tour to see for yourself) If the staff is outside with the dogs they are not aloud to kneel or sit down and pet them because it could cause fights (resource gaurding). I have worked at many kennels professionally for 3 years and this is not the way to run any facility. Your pets deserve love and basic care with transparency to the owners, not lying and cheating you out of your money. YOU ARE NOT GETTING WHAT YOU PAY FOR. I'm not reviewing out of hate but out of safety and love for these poor dogs. This is ABUSE. I'm not sure what more I can do or who to call. There are plenty of other reviews like mine right here, on yelp, facebook and on indeed. If you would like other suggestions there are plenty more loving and professional dog boarding and daycare facilities in RVA. If you don't believe me go take a tour of the whole facility, look at the ceiling vents, go in the kennel room you will see. They don't get water. How is that ok for weeks on end? If your dog is boarding they are only letting them out for water 4 times a day. If they are in daycare they only get water twice a day. If your dog is sick she won't tell you. She will make up excuses and tell you not to bring them to the vet?? 3 employees have quit in the past 24 hours bceuase of poor management, lack of communication, and mistreatment. I have already contacted the better business bureau and other resources for further investigation. If you have any information or other experiences please comment to help save these poor pups. We have boarded our 1.5 year old labradoodle at this facility many times. The last two times however turned out to be regrettable. In March of this year we left our dog for 1 week, before we left him he was in very good health, as he had a healthy check up at the vet. When we picked him up we noticed he had a bad cough. The staff did not mention one thing to us about his health. We took him right to the vet and they told us that he had a very bad upper respiratory infection. We wound up spending more on vet bills than the stay alone. We called back to Implausible Pups to notify them and ask about the conditions and if any other dogs were sick. They proceeded to tell us this must have been just our dog. We needed boarding services again in June and decided to give them one more shot. Well that turned out to be a terrible decision. This time our dog was in their care for 10 days or so when my wife picked him up the staff said he had a good time and was great. When my wife got home with him I quickly noticed he had lost a lot of weight and had a bad cough. We monitored him over the next two days and the cough did not get any better and actually got worse. He did not want to eat, was not himself and was obviously not "great" as they had told us. My wife called Implausible Pups to inquire and spoke with Rachel. She told her they had an outbreak of kennel cough over the last two weeks when our dog was in their care. However, they covenantally did not mention this to my wife when we picked him up. We then took him to our vet only to find that we had a very sick dog on our hands with a sever case of kennel cough, diarrhea and some flees. I decided to call the owner Valerie to speak with her about this. After I explained the situation, she didn't appear to be very apologetic rather she decided to lecture me about kennel cough and said my dog must have a weak immune system. I asked her why they didn't notify us and she told us they had a sign on their door notifying the public. Funny thing was that notice was not on the door when my wife dropped our dog off because if it was and they verbally said something, we would have made other arrangements for him and not have left him there. I don't know what happens to this place as it used to be a good place to leave your dog, but for sure something has changed in these last few months. Maybe it's their procedure or lack of cleanliness, staff training or poor communication with their customers, I'm not exactly sure which one or all of the above. I can tell you one thing after spending more in vet bills than the boarding itself, we will never be bringing our dog back to this place. If you love your dog as well, I would recommend you not take them there either. read more

We are regular customers here, after a friend recommended them. Now I can't imagine not having them as a resource. We have used them for doggie day care, overnight boarding and obedience training. They have been great!! Always accommodating and treat our dog Pearl like she is part of the family. read more

My wife has already posted a review of this kennel but I wanted to add. Our dog was there for 11 days and when I picked him up this morning his hair had severe matts in it and the part that made me the maddest was the amount of fecal matter that was still all over the dog's rear and had obviously been there for some time. I was so MAD that I just signed for our boy and left as I knew if I started "discussing my dissatisfaction" with these people it would end up in an unpleasant altercation. We have boarded Scooter here several times in the past but this has never happened. I find the owner's accusations that she leveled against my wife "he must have been matted when you dropped him off.." and other idiotic statements really impossible to believe. IF YOU LOVE YOUR PET DO NOT USE THESE INCOMPETENT ANIMAL CARE PERSONNEL. WE WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN. read more

The team here is committed to happy, healthy doggos and it shows. After almost two months of working with these folks, we are having an amazing experience. We brought our strong willed, older dog here for board and train and were blown away by the results. Not only was she treated and loved like a queen while she was here, but we saw real results. When she came home she was happy and freshly bathed. After the intensive onsite training, we attended some "tune up" trainings to get our people skills in line with our dog's newly found skills. These folks know their stuff and truly care about what they do. We also used regular boarding and grooming services which were both great. read more

Love this place almost as much as our dog does. My only complaint would be that I think she's is starting to like them more than us! She has blast at day care and we usually don't make it too far down the road before she falls asleep in the car headed home. The staff is incredibly friendly and more than happy to answer questions. She just completed her four week training program and the improvement we've seen the four days since has been incredible to watch. The only time our pup actively pulls on her leash is when we get out of the car for daycare. She can't get to the door fast enough, but that's something I'm happy to let her get away with. I had read a lot of great reviews about this place, but I was pretty disappointed in the service. Even though I confirmed several grooming services when I checked in, the services were never done during my dog's short stay. The woman who checked in my dog during drop off seemed annoyed that I wanted to go over instructions for my dog's care. I was surprised on pick-up that they did not have any feeding/medical information on my dog (which I had filled out online), nor were my multiple requests for grooming done. Apparently, there is a glitch in their website for booking, even though I was instructed on calling that they only take reservations online. The women on check out were very nice and were apologetic - if they had been there during my original experience, my opinion might be different. Between feeling like an annoyance during check-in, not writing down and verifying my information, their website reservations not being accurate and not being given back my dog's favorite toy I left with him, the place left me disappointed. My dog did come home happy and exhausted; he clearly loved doggie daycare. However I won't be boarding him overnight there again. read more

I can't say enough good things about the people at Impawsible Pups. My dog is a regular for both daycare and boarding, and they are so good to him. When we pull up my dog gets visibly excited, and when he sees the staff through the door his tail starts wagging furiously. Yes, he loves playing with the other dogs and comes home tired and happy (which makes my husband and I happy as well!), but I think is says a lot that my dog loves the staff as much as he does. I have seen them interact with my dog and they are as good to him as I'm sure they are to their own dogs, who are frequently on site with them. It is really nice to have the peace of mind that I am leaving my dog with people who care about him. read more

We picked up our Schnauzer mix this morning after an 11 day stay. He was in deplorable condition! After spending over an hour with a mat comb, a brush and a scissors, I finally gave up and had to shave him! When I talked to the owner Valerie, she told me flat our that it was completely impossible for matting that bad to occur in 11 days and that he must have been that way when I brought him in!!!!! NOT! No, I had not signed up for grooming, but when he was getting that bad why didn't someone call me and let me know so I could have had him taken care of???? Once again, Valerie said that since Scooter wasn't seeing their groomer, the kennel staff wouldn't have known. Seriously??? All you had to do was look at him. It was horrible! Bottom line BEWARE of this place if you have a dog that is at all prone to matting. I only with there was a way to post pictures of my poor little guy so everyone out there could see just how bad it was. Obviously, he'll never be going back to this place again. read more
