The entire process was confusing and not good. First, the appointments of our three dogs were all different times. I went in and personally changed it to be more convent for us and the dogs. However, I was still getting notices of the old times. As far as quality of the grooming. It was extremely poor. Our Shitz Tzu faces have grown out and it's been only two weeks. Our youngest, 10 month old didn't even get his paws trimmed up. The cost was nearly $100 for each dog. Way more than our mobile groomer at home. I would not use this Petco grooming again. read more

I have scheduled 3 separate times for Vet services and all 3 times they have been canceled an hour before the appointment time. Also, just attempted to take my dog in for a scheduled grooming only to wait 15 minutes and be told they can't groom any dogs over 85 pounds because "they don't have the capacity". Nothing states this in advance on the website. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else for grooming and pet visits so you don't get canceled on day of. read more

I was incredibly impressed with their service and advice as for guiding me to get the best products for my elderly dog, and my beta fish. I had took my three and half year old dog to get groomed about and hour later I get a not so friendly call from here saying my dog had been hurt and tore her nail she ended up going to the vets her nail is com gone and will never most likely grow back the only positive thing I have to say is the manager who was there was incredibly friendly, nice respectful, and had great customer service. And was extremely sorry for what happened to my dog. the staff who had called us was rude never told us how bad it was or anything she never once was nice everytime I have came in for my dog to have her nails done or anything she has always been rude and very unprofessional and has always been mean to me never once have I had a pleasant experience with her. something needs to be done with this I have been coming her for 7+ years and never have had a rude and unpleasant interaction with a-lot of the staff there but her. read more

I currently do not have any small animals (which is usually the only reason I'd go to a Petco, not for my dogs or cat), but I can't help but stop in a Petco when I am walking by to look at the cute animals. This location does not have as many as some I have seen but it did keep me occupied for 10-15 minutes. As far as Petco's go, it did seem clean and like the pets were in good care, but there was something lonely about it too. Not the best Petco I have gone to, but not the worst, and it's hard to judge when I wasn't there for anything specific! A-OK. read more

Took Emma, my senior German Shepherd in yesterday for a bath at the groomers. She is a very large girl, 125 lbs but that did not matter to Jodie, the groomer. Had me help a bit when she did Emma's nails. She needed help lifting Emma up on the ramp, is all. Emma is 45 lbs too big for their bath tub so they just washed and blow dried her off on the tile floor. Very very kind personnel in the grooming area. Would take Emma back again with no reservations. I've tried over a dozen times to get a quote for grooming. The "get a quote" Yelp feature is a joke. There is no quote given. Corporate just sends a "please call our store" response. That would be great, except, no one has ever picked up the grooming extension and no one else in the store will give a quote. Really wish I could give petco zero stars DO NOT COME HERE TO GET YOUR PUP GROOMED, ESPECIALLY WITH AN AUSSIE. We took our 9 month mini Aussie here and they COMPLETELY shaved our pups fur down to nothing. When I made the appointment I specifically told them that he is a Australian Shepard, that we absolutely did not want his fur shaved because it would ruin his coat and it wouldn't grow back the same. We only wanted his butt shaved so poo did get stuck to him because he was so fluffy, i thought i made it really clear to them that we didn't want anything but his bum and his coat washed. I cried when I saw him like this, I am absolutely so heart broken for our dog. He seems so embarrassed that his beautiful coat is gone. What makes it worse is the groomer telling us that we told them to shave him instead of owning up to their mistake. I couldn't believe that they tried to put the blame on us, we spent $$$ to buy show dog Aussie. TRUST ME we know not to shave him. The management at this location is in desperate need of a makeover. Petco Corporation needs to take over and start fresh. This store is going downhill very fast, due to uneducated, untrained, managers! The mangers are very immature and act on anger, without knowing the facts. The managers that are there now, have no clue how to manage a store or treat employees. They give bad Direction and put employees in danger. Management makes fun of employees that have safety concerns, when brought to their attention. They call them crazy and paranoid. The managers do not care about the employees that go above and beyond to help them make their numbers. Went in to get dog food and am on crutches because I am disabled, asked the girl Mariah at the front if someone could help me grab a bag of food as I cannot myself. She told me to wait back by the dog food and someone was on their way to meet me there to help. No one ever showed up, like 5 mins I'm talking no one. Not a soul. So I went and grabbed a cart on CRUTCHES mind you.... and had to drag the bag off the shelf myself and let it fall onto the bottom rack of the cart. I was told they were short staff so they'd have to wait to have someone help me get it in the car. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I saw 2 employees and not one of them helped. In any way. I spend 64 bucks every week and a half there on food for my dogs and after this, no way in hell will I go back. I've called corporate and the store manager but needed to share my experience here. Wow, we are so happy we watched the groomers care for our four legged friends from the windows for a while. You could tell the animals actually enjoyed the experience. The friendly man Brad, would let them get down, then gently encourage them back up. I almost hate to write a great review! Our rescued older girl, wasn't stressed at all. The staff is kind and really knowledgeable. Then we took in our six year old Old English Lab. We thought it might be stressful the first time, we've always groomed the girls ourselves! NOT AT ALL!!! All wagging tail, and yes, her doggie grin :) They are now regulars!!! Who knew?? Thank you Redmond PetCo!!! We've had Groomers for past pets, but no one like you two! :) Again, almost hesitant to write this. We hate to lose the ability of getting our girls in and having our team take their time with them. Petco apparently knows nothing about birds. They have a Green Cheek Conure there right now who looks like he is on his last leg and about to die. His water is filthy, hes not perching and they wont seek vet attention for him. This is not acceptable. Petco, if one of your animals is sick, you seek attention for it immediately! To make matters worse, they marked his cost of purchase down just to get rid of him quicker. I want to start this review by saying that in every other aspect of it's operation this PetCo has been phenomenal. The staff has been friendly and helpful, and the grooming department did a wonderful job with my two dogs, one of whom is incredibly nervous with strangers but with their groomers she did GREAT. However, their dog trainer has absolutely NO business training for them, or any other institution. The trainer advised using a shock collar without gathering *any* information on the dogs "problem behavior," and she has no understanding of basic dog body language. I realize that this is the internet so there is no way to verify I'm telling the truth in this, but my family ran a dog training and boarding facility for 6 years, so everything I'm saying is coming from a place of experience. First, a few weeks ago my mother came to visit with her dogs and went to this PetCo to get food. She mentioned observing the trainer telling an owner that their dog was just "lazy" as she drug it out from behind a stack of dog food bags the dog was desperately trying to hide behind, tail between it's legs, clearly giving out signals that the dog is nervous and afraid. I thought it odd that such an obvious signal of anxiety was being passed off as "lazy," and felt a bit sorry for the poor owners who were no doubt trying their best to train their dog, but I really didn't think too hard on the subject until I went to the store myself a few weeks later. Because of my mother's previous experience, when I went to the same store and realized they were holding a puppy class, I went ahead and eavesdropped all over the place just to see for myself what was going on. This was on September the 12th at 10:20 AM. An older woman with a gorgeous GWP pulled the trainer aside and said she had a few questions. She described that her dog gets out of control when her husband tries to handle her, and she asked what the trainer thought about shock collars. I was expecting the trainer to ask a few questions to get a better idea of the dogs behavior first, or maybe ask for the husband to attend the next class, ask the woman to video tape the behavior for her, or talk about alternatives to shock collars, or literally anything else, but what tumbled out of her mouth was that shock collars work great, and she uses them on their own dogs. Are you serious? What kind of dog trainer has so little control over HER OWN DOGS, that she needs to use shock collars regularly? What's worse is that the woman then asked about using a citronella collar, and instead of saying that it was a viable alternative, or anything positive about them, the trainer actively discouraged their use because they aren't that effective, and said that shock collars work much better because it "gets their attention better." Well no shit it gets their attention! I'm not against shock collars totally, because there are a very few situations where they are warranted as a training tool. However, they are certainly not, nor should they ever be, the FIRST resort! We're talking about suggesting shock collars to someone who doesn't yet know how to make their dog sit! You can not honestly expect them to be able to use a shock collar appropriately, and any good trainer should be cognizant of that fact! In our kennels we had anywhere from 10-20 dogs at a time, and boarded/trained hundreds. Not a single dog ever needed trained with a shock collar, and any time we used a citronella collar is was 100% effective. Out of the hundreds of dogs we boarded only one was difficult to correct with the citronella collar, and that's because he would bark rapidly until the citronella charge was depleted and *then* he would stop barking of his own accord. That's it. That's the ONLY problem the supposedly "ineffective" citronella collar had. Also, the store has a grassy area or a parking lot that could be sectioned off outside, but the class was held inside the store during store hours. I imagine this is a normal part of the training process, because at some point you have to teach a dog to obey commands while distracted, but not a single trainee could successfully get the dogs to sit the entire time I was there. I saw no focus commands. no "watch me," nothing. Just the dogs confusedly wandering the isles where the trainer couldn't see them all, with their owners desperately trying to get the dogs to obey their commands. One lady came down my isle and I apologized for being in the way, and she responded with "He's so distracted, he doesn't know sit yet." Well, that's not surprising is it? I understand working on training while distracted, but you don't do that until the dogs actually know the commands first. You don't take your child to Chuck-e-Cheese and then expect them to learn the alphabet. In closing, their trainer is doing a poor job at best, and at worst she is giving out HORRIBLE training advice. Do not take your dog here for classes! read more

Horrible customer service. I know buying mice to feed a snake is not what everyone wants to hear. Nor can you tell if a mouse is sick. You can tell when your beloved little snake is sick. She got sick after eat a mouse from here. I never buy food unless cat food for my pets from Petco but sometimes you don't have a choice. I will never buy from any Petco again.
