I have boarded my two pets here a few times but usually only 1-2 nights. My husband and I went on vacation and had to board them for 9 nights. I paid for the "happy texts" and everything seemed good. I picked my dogs up yesterday and my normally healthy/athletic lab came home emaciated with her ribs visibly protruding. Both dogs have been so stressed and not themselves but most concerning is my dog lost so much weight so fast and not one single person notified me. I've been in touch with their manager and I'm getting a lot of "we're sorry" or "I understand" but it doesn't change my dog lost so much weight in a week and nobody informed me, I paid a lot of $ for people to look after my babies and since talking about it with locals I've heard worse experiences and I'm grateful that my girl came home to me. We live in Portland, but were in Bend for 5 Nights. And, our little dog Maya stayed with us for most of the time. But, we were planning to do a big 25 mile Trail Run near Three Sisters Wilderness and our little senior-citizen Dog Maya wouldn't be able to hang with us on pace or distance. And, so we opted to check her in for two nights at Pet Paradise from Oct. 6th through Oct. 9th. ANd, they were very easy to work with before we got to Bend, making the reservation was clear and really straight forward. Additionally, when I checked Maya into the site, it was a pain-free and really smooth. They asked a a few questions and verified some information. Maya followed the staff into the back room. ANd, as I got in my car- and drove around the parking lot to leave I saw Maya free-roaming in this green- grass (securely fenced) area. And, it was such a sweet way to leave to see her comfortable and enjoying the fresh air. And, ultimately we picked our dog up a day early, but the Pet Resort was really accommodating and easy to work with as we picked her up earlier than expected. I have explored different dog boarding places over the years, and this by far is my favorite. If we are in Bend again and need a place to keep our dog or doggos, I will definitely use Pet Paradise! read more

We take our pup here every time we go out of town. So far, so good. I do wish we had visibility to see what their sleeping quarters looked like. Maybe there are photos, but wish there was more. Otherwise, we are satisfied. It's unfortunate though that prices have increased this year. Daycare used to be $15 but is now $25 a day. Good for them though, business is good! Nightly rates are very reasonable. The reservation process on their site is easy and you get a quick reply if they accept the reservations. Well-organized! On a recent visit to Bend we scheduled two daycare visits for our fur kid Rochelle at Pet Paradise. From scheduling, to the drop off and pick up, and the extremely reasonable pricing, the service was great. They have large separate well-maintained fenced areas for large and small doggies and the front desk gal was friendly and reassured us that our baby girl would be well cared for. She also gave us a report of how Rochelle adapted to her visit during pick up. Rochelle seemed happy and excited after her visits, which is always a good sign. The entire experience was terrific. We would definitely leave Rochelle in the capable hands at Pet Paradise again during future visits to the area. Highly recommended! read more

We know it's a good sign when we pull off the highway onto the Pet Paradise's property and Streamer (our dog) livens up. He's always SO excited to go play and once through the doors he never looks back. The open play areas tailored to the age/social abilities are awesome and another attribute that sets this place apart. It's so comforting to know that Streamer is not sitting in a pen/run by his lonesome self all day long. He is always tuckered out when we pick him up. We have also had Streamer groomed on occasion and the folks do a great job. We would not consider another option when it comes to caring for our dog. This place is fantastic. read more

We brought our 10.5 month old Doberman here for doggy day care for 4 days while we snowboarded at Mt. Bachelor. It was great, we dropped him off at 8am and picked him up at 4-5pm. The staff is friendly and great with him. Our dog has a lot of energy and this place was great for him to run outside and play with other dogs. We boarded our dogs several times for daycare & overnight boarding for over a year & half & paid a couple thousand dollars. You'd think there would be decent customer service if you're a regular customer. Not the case. Most of the time we'd show up & they'd question us about vaccinations which would cause lengthy delays for us & was super frustrating because we always kept up with the shots & ALWAYS turned in certificates. After a long delay most of those times they'd figure out "oh we see it now" or "or we found it it just wasnt updated in our system". Or if parvo or bordo was due then we'd pay to have them update it. Yet they still would lose track of their own vaccinations & we'd go through the same issue the following visit. The most frustrating part is that I submitted vaccination certificates several times (they kept losing them) over the entire period we boarded with them & always kept the dogs updated. Last week we showed up for overnight boarding & we needed to get out of town by a certain time, well again they insisted one of the dogs needed all vaccinations including rabies. Not accurate- her rabies wasnt due for 2 more years & I was fine with them doing Parvo & Bordo but the girl insisted she was due for rabies & told me they cant keep her. Keep in mind Id run into this issue with rabies certificates 3 times in the past year & had given them the certificates on 3 different occasions because they weren't organized enough to keep up with them. We were scheduled to go out of town so this was a very stressful situation to hear they cant keep my dog when she was in fact updated. To make it worse the girl was extremely rude & condescending. So my poor dog had to be in a cage by herself the whole time since my vet was closed. So after making us very late yet again & dealing with poor customer service they call my Vet the next day (btw my Vet said the girl who called was very rude to her) & find out sure enough she isn't due for rabies for 2 years. Pet Paradise had made a mistake yet again. And again, I had turned in both their rabies 3 times in the past year due them losing the paperwork. I did not get an apology from the staff or Manager. Yet the manager called me afterwards but not only did she not apologize for their mistake but she tried to blame me for the situation even after I explained the entire situation to her. She was rude & did not care about how many times weve dealt with the vaccination delays & poor customer service. She just kept defending the staff person & literally blaming us which made no sense. We've always found 2 of the staff & the manager are not nice, not professional & have very poor customer service. They are really disorganized & IMO I think its awful they dont let pet parents see the back area where the dogs go...all my years boarding at different places ive never not been able to check out where my fur babies will spend their time in order for me to be sure its safe & they actually get cared for. Lots of red flags I wish I'd paid attention to early on. We have found another boarding facility that is vastly better, great customer service & way more appropriate & affordable. I recommend staying clear of Pet Paradise. Id give a negative star if it were available. read more

I originally tried a few others which were incredibly disappointing and clearly uneducated with dog training and socialization. After our first day trip to Pet Paradise, my dog was thrilled to be playing with other dogs his same size and energy level. They recognized behaviors as shy and playful rather than timid and aggressive. Finally, I can rest easy knowing that my dog is being well taken care of! read more

We were regular customers of Pet Paradise up until two years ago when our dog passed. The couple that managed the place were awesome. That means they acted excited to see our dog when we dropped her off and always sung her praises when we picked her up. Meaning, we felt like they cared about her., that's all we care about. Nice people, engaged, friendly. Took our seven month puppy to board a couple of weeks ago, new management. Young girls (which is of course fine) running the pace, totally uninterested in our dog and extended very little customer service to us. Picked her up three days later, gal working was friendlier and shared with us how our puppy did. (She was filthy, mud caked to her collar). But they did not tell us about the two scratches on her inner thighs. We saw that when we got home. Who knows how she got them, I'm guessing Pet Paradise had no idea. That said, they left a scar which to me means it was more than a surface scratch. Ultimate our puppy is of course fine. Facility was clean. Lots of dogs boarding that weekend. Beware: If you drop your pet off in the afternoon and pick them up the next afternoon, you will be charged for 2 days! So $60 to have Fido run in a chain link enclosure for 24 hrs. I didn't understand this because my wife booked and I wasn't aware of this novelty. So when I picked up I was expecting to pay $30 and they insisted on $60. I was happy with the people and the facility is clean and well cared for so I recommend them for longer stays but to head to Portland for one night and pay for two nights for my pooch makes no sense to me. Follow-up: Pet paradise called me and was concerned about my experience. They are working on a solution to make their short term stays more affordable. They refunded the second night fee. I've been so pleased with Toni & Terry and the rest of the Pet Paradise family in the 5 or so months I've been taking my boxer-pitt mix, Rocko, to them. They clearly love him a ton, and he even whimpers and jumps around when getting dropped off -- signifying he clearly loves having his vacation there, too!! They just recently saved our butts when I screwed up two-fold: I'd misread their hours, coming in at the wrong time, and didn't have him current on his Bordatella vaccine (2x/year for dogs who are boarded regularly). They were super accommodating, and with a smile. When I pick up Rocko, he's always in good spirits and quite worn out. I'm real glad for Pet Paradise! read more

Dropped our dog off here when we went on a short ski trip in Bend. In the office, we could hear a ton of barking, so I was a bit nervous about what was going on in there. The lady at the front checked us in and told us that Dixie would have 4 other labs to play with. It looked like they had a large fence area. I just adopted a 5 year old dog from the shelter and needed to board him overnight the same week. I was completely worried and feeling guilty, as my poor guy just got out of a kennel setting and is still very insecure and not sure about other people or dogs. After my initial phone call to Pet Paradise, I felt better about taking him... But still not sure. We arrived and were immediately greeted and completely taken care of. Samson warmed up as much as possible and I was on my way. Left our two dogs for two days. Upon our return one had diarrhea. Traveled back East after a couple days home and left them again - with clear instructions to take her to a vet if the problem persisted. Two days later she was dead. Septic shock. We returned from our trip to pick up her ashes and our other dog. They did not even offer apologies or condolences, but did charge us full fair! Our second dog then became sick. Yes, septic shock and we almost lost him after considerable care at the vet's over several days. While septic shock can result from alternative causes, the vet was sure that bacteria at Pet Paradise was the cause. The bottom line: One dead dog (a sweetheart with us 14 years) and another one severely injured. And oh, bills totaling over three thousand. Thanks Pet Paradise, for your unfeeling incompetence. We hope no other animals have to suffer at their hands. read more

Needed day care for puppy that just turned four months and in the middle of getting all her vacations. She had one set left and rabies is the final shot in puppy series. It was 11degrees in the morning, and not leaving her in the car. Our regular sitter not available. Phoned Pet Paradise and younger female said as long as she shows she is getting vaccinated and up to date with puppy shots, even though she has not completed series not a problem. She quoted $15.00 a day but failed to mention closed from noon to 3pm. We drove over an hour one way to find them closed at 12:20, started to leave and owner came out. Explaned we drove a long way and not quoted hrs. He let us in to then find out we had to be completed with puppy series of shots for them to take her. We had to cancel our plans and drive an hr back for nothing. Owner did call after talking to employee but she told owner I said puppy was two months old. He offered two free days to make up for hassle, but after reading reviews on this site and three dogs dead I will not be returning. P.S. My son noticed board quoted day prices $30 so I'm sure I was misquoted on that as well. read more

We and our Golden Retriever Chesney LOVE Pet Paradise! In 15 years of dog ownership, we finally used a kennel for the first time in June, while we had to go out of town and our usual sitters were unavailable. We reviewed our local options, and chose Pet Paradise for a variety of reasons - not the least of which was the ample play time each day for the dogs. Our Golden LOVES to play and be active, so the more play time, the better. We dropped him off for his first visit, and he happily trotted after the attendant to find his room. Throughout his stay, we got updates whenever we requested. When we picked him up 5 days later, he was a very tired and happy dog. Six weeks later we were again in need of a place for him to stay, so we returned to Pet Paradise. Chesney enthusiastically bounced into the kennel, ready for several more days of play. We arrived to pick him up at exactly 5:30 Saturday evening, and were able to pick our boy up before they closed. He was happy to see us; but also took time to hop up and give a snuggle and kiss to Angel as we left. We will definitely be back to Pet Paradise and are happy to have found a great and reliable place for us to leave our boy when we go out of town and can't take him with us. read more

I think this is a good kennel and I would use again. First, my dogs hate the kennel anyway you cut it but the staff was very nice and I know they were well taken care of. One of my dogs is aggressive towards other dogs, which limits your options with boarding but the staff understood what I was saying and took care of my dogs accordingly. I know they were well cared for and came home in good shape and it is nice to know my options as I just moved here. The facility was clean and the dogs have space inside and my dogs were allowed to play alone outside as one can't play with others. I thought rates were reasonable and my only criticism would be the midday closing (from 12-3) which is a little awkward for pick up but other than that they were great. read more

My lab mix of 10 years has never had to be left at a kennel but during this trip no babysitter could be found so Pet Paradise was booked. The price is decent, grounds look big enough and I think the dogs are the entertainment. Not sure that there is much human interaction with the pups as far as play goes, but as long as they aren't in kennel all day I'm happy. He came back clean and with minor rough housing scrapes, no more than he would on a play date. I'll be using them again. read more
