After years of visiting a using Redmond Veterinary Clinic I have waited tooo long to write a review! The good news is I have now seen so many different Drs and staff members I think I can actually give a good feel for the energy and work ethic of this group! Coming from working in animal hospital during most of my grooming career I suppose I could be a little picky or over critical. I tried multiple clinics before finding Redmond Vet! I have a sweet pug Dexter who was having eye issues a few years ago post covid every place was not taking new clients or booked out 6 months. I had been to two different emergency clinics in the area and Dexters eye wasn't getting better. Then I met Dr. Curt and was immediately impressed. Kind hearted, compassionate and made me feel like a neighbor or friend he explained all the issues in a way I could understand and worked diligently to fight the antibiotic resistant infection my little guy had! Since then I have seen Dr. Sean who is so colorful and fun I really enjoy him! Now to my most recent experience with Dr.Casse this isn't the first time I've seen her, my lab had a small issue last year and I knew I liked this Dr right away dealing with her then so I have since requested her. Fast forward to today when my poodle Delilah started haveing horrible issues, Dr. Casse got us in right away. She was very conscious of my financial situation and compassionate to the fact that I was extremely worried about my girl. She took immediate action and included me in all decision making. Delilah is now set up for surgery Wednesdays and I trust Dr. Casse with her 100 percent. I own my own business grooming dogs here in town and recommend all of my clients here, I am so confident in the staff to be kind courteous and help all these sweet animals. Above and beyond! My dog had been limping off and on for about a week and when I called Redmond Vet as a new patient, they were able to add me in the same afternoon with Dr. Shawn. Even though we were the last patient of the day, he took his time and was very thorough and kind. Our little guy ( 18 weeks/40 pounds) got into some rat poison. Our current vet in Bend would not help over the phone ( we live off grid in the boonies)or do a office visit. I am giving this review because a friend recalled to me how her little Chihuahua had been attacked by a large dog, and when she brought him in with life-threatening injuries, and in great pain, they refused to treat him until the friend gave almost $800 up front. They left the little dog in pain. The friend had to take the little dog to another vet, that treated it, and accepted payments. read more

I can't thank Dr Neely and the team at this vet clinic enough. We recently moved here and our old boxer had rapidly declined in his disease process. In need of a new vet and treatment, they were able to help us keep our boy comfortable in his last weeks, and provided end of life care in a kind and gentle way. They even came to our home so our boy could be in his own bed surrounded by our family during his euthanization. Annie's hearts provided a private cremation for him, and we now have his ashes back home with us. Thank you for your compassion towards our beloved Biff, and our family during such a difficult time. read more

***Sad review*** This is not my normal vet I go to (no specific reason against them, I followed my mom to where she goes, which just happens to be somewhere else) but I did sadly have to make a visit to put one of my rats down. I will spare the details, but she was suffering and felt like I had no other choice but needed it done very quickly. I called as many places as I could that morning and this was the first one to be open and willing to take us in with such little notice. They assured me once I came in they'd be able to take care of it right away, and they did, due to the circumstances. Losing pets is never easy so there's no way I could genuinely say I had a "good" experience here, but I was so thankful for the kindness and understanding during this situation. A couple weeks afterwards they sent me a card saying they were sorry for my loss as well as a pamphlet for dealing with grief over losing an animal and both were really appreciated (and actually helpful). I kept both and came across it again today which inspired me to leave this review. I am really just so grateful for them and I would definitely look into switching over to them in the future, if/when I get more of my own pets. read more

Today was our second time seeing Dr. Shawn, who was recommended to us by my grandma. The first time was for our boy, and today, for our baby girl (both cats). Both visits were fairly last-minute, but they were great about squeezing me in the next day regardless. My cats each have drastically different personalities, so I was curious to see how each one got on with Shawn. The answer: absolutely brilliantly. I'm so grateful for the certified cat-friendly exam room. Our previous vet in Portland had one also, and I don't think I'll ever go back to taking them to a regular exam room! I'm seriously not joking when I say I'm pretty sure my cats both liked Shawn and his technicians better than me! They were so incredibly calm through both of their visits, and Shawn is incredibly friendly and personable. I tend to get quite worked up when there's something not right with my fur kids, and he is great at keeping a calm atmosphere, both for the cats and myself (though I think I probably needed it more than they did lol). I've been told by others that I may find slightly lower prices elsewhere. Whether that's true or not, I can't honestly say, but I will tell you that, despite my limited budget, you really can't put a price tag on care like this! I am so blessed to have found such a wonderful and caring veterinarian (and staff!) to take care my precious babies!! read more

I took my 13 year old Greyhound here because of sudden and frequent vomiting. It turned out to be pancreatitis. They had no openings that day, but they still let me bring him in to be examined between appointments. No other vet in the area would do that for me. Dr. Shawn and the staff at Redmond Veterinary Clinic saved my dogs's life. Everyone there is friendly and clearly loves animals. To the Staff of Redmond Vet Clinic, Once again I find myself deeply indebted to the entire staff. When we lost Nanook, I was overwhelmed with the care and professionalism we were shown. When Nakina passed, there were several nuances that were very important to my family that I feel I must mention. Anytime I entered the clinic I felt welcomed and comforted by the actions of the staff. Shawn confided that each member approached Nakina with a positive attitude even though the circumstances were less than desirable. I was allowed to hang out with Nakina and help with some of her treatments. The doctors worked together in Nakina's care and were open and honest with each diagnosis. When the call came that she was close to passing, we rushed to the clinic to find Susan holding the door open for us, Autumn carefully removing Nakina from the kennel and a room prepared for us to spend a few private last moments with our princess. We received a call from Shawn a couple of days later to check up on the family and make sure Daisy was doing well with the loss of her playmate. Each of these may seem like small gestures but to us they made a huge difference. We have always felt that our pets were treated with care and professionalism in your clinic. I moved to Central Oregon a year ago and chose the first vet with no recommendations. The vet was good but something was missing. This year I asked around and I decided to give Redmond Veterinary Clinic a go. The office reception area is big and reception staff were quick and attentive. Dr. Curt and Melissa were great with my two dogs. They spent time getting to know them and plying them with treats to gain their trust before beginning the example. The exams were very thorough and he explained things as he went along with the exams while keeping the dogs calm. Dr. Sean has been our vet for quite some time, but 2 yrs ago we needed to decide to put our 10 y/o large dog down. Dr. Sean helped us along the way and when the day came they offered so many options for us to be comfortable in this heart-wrenching decision. I have had an unacceptable experience with this clinic. I went in on Wednesday for a year exam and otd on shots for my German Shorthair. On Thursday, The day after, my dog was coughing and dry heaving really bad. On Friday I took him in to the clinic to get checked on. During the exam, the vet never once looked into his mouth or examined his throat. She instead proscribed some medication for him that was suppose to take the cough away, and sent off swabs to get lab results. (Which the vet clinic paid for) On Monday, my dog was still coughing and dry heaving about every 30minutes. I called the clinic to see if the lab results came back or not. The receptionist said the lab results didn't come back but my vet wanted to put my dog on a different medication. I went into the clinic that day to pick up the new medication and ask some questions. As I walked in, and the receptionist was ready to ring me up, except the total was $500. She explained to me that my account had past dues, saying I never paid for my exam or the lab results or my previous medication. I explained to her that it was incorrect and I had receipts to prove it. Next, I talked to a vet tech (vet was not in) about my problems and concerns. - I asked her why my dog was being put on new medication when the past medication was suppose to help with the cough. She explained that they've had dogs coming through their clinic the past few weeks with respiratory infection and influenza and this new medication was suppose to help with that sickness. -I then asked why I was having to pay for the medication when it is honestly their fault that my dog is sick. She explained that it was the same scenario if I were to walk into a hospital and catch a cold. -I asked if my dog is contagious and how long the sickness will last. She explained that he is very contagious and I should not take him out of my house for at least a month. I went ahead and paid for my dogs medication and thanked the vet tech for being helpful by answering my questions. I also asked her to please leave a note with my vet to contact me as soon as possible. Finally, this morning (Wednesday, June 29th) my vet called and left a message on my cell phone. The message stated that his lab results came back and he was positive for para influenza as well as micro plasma. She went on to say that he is very contagious and that he most likely picked this up from... A BOARDING FACILITY or a DOGGY DAY CARE! (My dog is the only dog I have and he's a working dog. He doesn't ever play with other dogs and has NEVER been to a boarding facility of ANY kind). She did not own up to the fact that my dog became sick from her vet clinic and that this could have been prevented by cleaning their facility better. Changing vets immediately. read more

After recently moving to Central Oregon, I wanted to get my cat checked. They were able to get me right in to see Dr Curt. Melissa, the technician, was wonderful, very knowledgeable and put the cat at ease. Dr Curt's exam was very thorough and he found some things that needed treatment that the Banfield in California had never mentioned. I am confident we are getting the best care for my cat and have scheduled surgery for the dental problem that Dr.Curt indicated was causing the other health issues. Our dog Lily had a medical crisis while we were camped outside John Day, about 3 hours from Redmond. The wonderful vet there, Dr. Ramy Jisha, referred us to RVC, where Dr. Shawn met us and gave Lily a very thorough, skilled, knowledgeable and compassionate evaluation. The news was not good, unfortunately, but at least there was no more mystery, we knew what we were up against and had some tools and ideas about how to manage it until we could get home. Dr. Shawn called the next day to check up on Lily, and sent copies of her ultrasound to our vet so we could all determine best treatment plan. The whole staff was pleasant and supportive. If we lived in the area, Dr. Shawn and RVC would definitely be our vet! read more

I love this place! They are always excited to see my dog and give her lots of love and treats. Even the receptionists will come out for pets even though I'm sure they are very busy. They even offer to bring you a coffee while you wait for the vet! The vets and vet techs have been awesome, very knowledgeable and willing to listen to and answer any questions you have. They are very good about keeping the dogs distracted with treats while they give any shots, and trim their toenails before they are done. I will definitely keep taking my dog here! read more
