No grooming nothing!!Just said dog was to tired mind you our dog is 11. She's been grooming our dog since he's been a puppy. How unprofessional. I've been in twice now at two different times of the day picking up stuff for my bearded dragon. Although they didn't carry any dehumidifiers, both times the staff was very helpful and knowledgeable about the care of bearded dragons and took the time to answer questions I had and provided some solutions based on their own experiences caring for the ones they had in the store. Negative 5 stars. Had a full service grooming (bath, trim, teeth brushing, nail filing) appointment for 5pound Yorkie at 7am Mother's Day Sunday morning. Due to flat tire still arrived at 7:10am no one answered the phone before 7am, with doors locked, we knocked and finally called. The person never came to the door we were just turned way on the phone saying they had a full schedule. Well don't we all, to be turned away rather than cut back on services is not very professional takes more than ten minutes to do a full service grooming. I had picked out a hamster that my daughter chose and picked out everything it needed, cage, food, running wheel, play tubes, habitat safe products. all to be told that they wouldn't sell me anything because it would kill a hamster. I asked why do you guys sell "hamster habitats " and "hamster safe" products if they kill hamsters? quoting the manager "it's a scam that PETCO runs". so most of the hamster products are scams according to the staff. changed up the whole order to what they recommended and none of it was for hamsters. when I wanted to keep the "hamster tubes" so it could explore they told me they wouldn't sell it to me, part of the PETCO scam. i was so frustrated that we cancelled the whole thing. my 2 year old daughter is now devastated! She was shy at the start, but each class was so much fun that she quickly became comfortable with the other puppies, their handlers and the trainer, Isabela. Isabella was great. Came into Petco for some goodies for my puppy. Love the selection of toys they offer for all types of pets, not just dogs & cats. They come in just the right size for your pet. Found him some treats that he loves at The Treatery stand near the check-out registers. I know he likes them because he finished the bag I bought him last time. They also have a good selection of chewing bones in a variety of sizes and flavors. I went with the medium beef braided one. he loved it and enjoyed his time chewing away on it. Tried their dog food, but, it was not the right fit for my puppy. It would be convenient if they carried the popular dog food brands that big retailers do, so I could get all my puppy need in one place. My brothers 11 year old was seriously maimed (the groomer cut the tip of his tongue off!) please read below for more information: They originally called Jaime and told him Spikey had got cut and a vet had to see him. When we went in there were two other customers and the manager waited until they left to tell us that while he was getting groomed he licked and in the process got cut. I said in a loud voice, "his tongue?! They didn't mention that over the phone." They took Spikey out of the crate and As I held him I felt I was going to cry, so I started walking out. As I was leaving I heard Jaime say he was sorry. The manager said she was sorry because before Jaime said sorry she had NOT apologized. As soon as I saw Jaime I asked why he had apologized. He said he had got nervous. He began licking himself and blood starting coming out. I started panicking. As soon as we got home I called the technician that saw him. I assumed he had gone to Petco. He said they brought Spikey to him. We were never notified of that. I would have met them there to comfort Spikey. The technician said that it was a freak accident. I asked if he had ever treated for this before and he replies no, it was the first he had seen I asked if Spikey needed further care if Petco would pay for it. He said I would have to talk to them about that. Petco needs to make this right and pay for all of spikey's follow up visits, medication, and retrain whoever was grooming him. Spikey has gone to this location so many times to get groomed and never had this happen. This is ungrossly negligent, unacceptable and horrifying. We showed a picture of what we wanted and explained a clean up around the eyes. They cut his whispers, beard and basically did a shave of his entire face. WARNING! DO NOT BRING YOUR PET IN FOR GROOMING!!! I brought my Yorkie here a week ago for his grooming appointment. It was our first time here at this location as we are new to the area. I received a call a few hours later from the manager telling me they took my dog to the veterinarian in San Martin. That was the closest Vet they could to take him to on short notice. I was furious and SHOCKED! The manager later told me a new groomer who had just started there was assigned to groom my dog. Her name is Zoey. In her failed attempt to exercise her newly learned skills she cut my dogs hind leg with the sheers. It was about a 1 1/2" cut. The vet needed my permission to sedate him and stitch him. My dog was left maimed and with stitches. I am disgusted every time I think about the pain my dog must have felt from her stupidity. I asked if this groomer was being supervised while she was cutting my dogs hair and she answer was no. How does Petco allow new "stylist" to attend to dogs without supervision? More importantly why is it not procedure to confirm with clients they are assigning a stylist with no experience before completing the appointment / scheduling? My dog didn't deserve this! They have supplies for: rodents (mice, hamsters, chinchillas, etc), birds, reptiles, fish, cats, and dogs. Selection is typically pretty good. They also sell pets themselves: mice, hamsters, chinchillas, birds, iguanas, chameleons, and fish. They do not sell dogs or have dog rescue (to my knowledge) They do have cats (rescue), but it's a small selection. Their area seems to support a couple cats at a time. They offer dog training classes. They have a pet grooming service available. Service is always friendly here, though sometimes it's a bit light on staff so you may need to ask someone at the register. Regardless, I've found everyone to be very helpful and extremely nice. They also keep it clean in here, which is appreciated. They have a generous return policy on things like dog harnesses, so if it doesn't fit well on your dogchild you can bring it back. we have been taking our dog there since 2017 but after this terrible experience we have ultimately decided that it's time for a new groomer. Our dogs usual groomer is no longer with the company anyway... I had booked an appt online for a grooming service for my dog scheduled for 2/4 and had a screenshot as a personal reminder. Went to drop off the dog and Petco Morgan Hill tells me that I have a different appointment scheduled on a different date. Don't even know how that happened. My guess is they mixed it up on their end. I stick to the new date since it happened to work with my schedule. Again made sure new date was confirmed. No apology. Yesterday got a random email saying that my appointment was cancelled and called to inquire. Person on the phone had said that I cancelled my appointment which was not true. I had ask to speak to the manager multiple times but the woman on the phone completely ignored my request and just tried to book me a new appointment once again. She had an attitude and there was no apology whatsoever. I understand there can be glitches in the system and miscommunications but what I didn't appreciate was the terrible lack of customer service. Instead of the attitude, she could've just briefly apologized. When I had asked to speak to the manager she should've given the phone to her manager instead of completely ignoring me. This is not ok. We took our dog on Saturday and told us roughly 4 hours, I went after the 4th hour and was told another 30 minutes, went back and was told he was still not ready, because they had a walk in, what's the point of me making an appointment then? Finally after over 5 hours we get him and he looks horrible, we had our baby daughter or else me and my fiancé would of complained. First let me say the first 6 times I had my dog bathed here it has been Great ! ( she is short hair so just bath 20 mins in and out)! Once they put my dog in a kennel and rubbed her nose (scared her nose) they offered to pay for vet to look at it . I said no , it was ok, but in future can I just bring her in and wait ( shopping) and to let me know when she's ready ( so no kennel time). Perfect! Quick 20 mins??? Never had a problem until Now! They want me to pay a VIP charge ?? Apparently so they can work on my dog straight thru and no kennel (or juggle dogs ). I argued that this was never an issue before and that I will hold my dog until they are ready to bath and then pick her up when they are done??? I even said forget the nails to avoid any juggling problem?? I even spoke to the manager of grooming and apparently still an issue with bathing my dog and quick drying her. Must be VIP???? I've only had pleasant experience here! Before they expanded they used to have clearance bins full of toys. I would always grab a toy or two on the way out and found my dogs favorite toy here! For grooming, I went once and probably won't be back unless my regular groomer is booked. The cut itself was good it's just my dog stayed there close to 6 hours! We did a 7am appt, store was closed but someone let us in. She cooly brought out a chart showing hair lengths and kindly suggested which ones were popular. She then informed us it'll probably be like 4 hours (which I thought was long already). I called back after 4 hours they said he wasn't ready...then they called back 2 hours later for pick up. My poor dog. If you're busy and don't mind your dog being there long, they're super flexible about pick ups times though. read more

Today my lizard light just blew out. . And not the regular blowout ... The light bursted . So I quickly went to Petco to purchase a new light. I as assisted by Ryan. I immediately informed him of what happened and that I recently purchased the light as well, Ryan was quick to assist. He said that was weird and it's a possibility the light had a short in it. I showed him the video of what had happened. As well as informed him I always switch the day light and night light so maybe that could of caused it.... Anyway, he had a great reccomdation for my new purchase! A double light , that way I can have the day light and night light separate, where each lamp has its own on/off switch. I brought my dog (chihuahua mix) and cat in to update their vaccinations. I had to purchase a muzzle for my dog because she's a rescue and has never been socialized - the cashier up front was super friendly. However the veterinarian, Amanda Anthony, and the vet assistant, Bryanna, we're terrible. They saw my cat first and when i set him on the exam table to help coax him out of the carrier, she told me I needed to step on the other side of the table- that's fine. She then proceeded to try pulling him out while he's already nervous so he doesn't allow her to, I try to step in and help and the vet walks to the other side of the table to hold the carrier still while Bryanna grabs him by the back of his neck and pulls him forcefully from inside. He was still pushing back because of how they were trying to remove him that his feet were stuck and she still proceeded to keep pulling him until he was out of the carrier & told me I needed to get him a bigger carrier. He weighs 12 pounds and stays in there comfortably at home on his own to take naps and on rode trips - I've never had any issue with any other vet and his carrier - it's a standard carrier purchased from PetSmart. They then proceed to hogtie him and keep a very tight grip on his neck fur while he received his shots. He's never been handled this way by any other vet and his behavior was off for several hours afterwards. Then comes time to give my dog her shots, I set her on the table (she has a muzzle because I am aware she's not socialized and is scared but she's never bit or snapped at anybody only barked - it's just a precaution). Bryanna then hogties her right away before trying to do any introduction at all and she begins growling. As soon as the vet tries to do the first shot, she yelps and growls at them again. Bryanna then held her even tighter without trying to let her breathe or smell them or anything - they then try again and she snapped at them. If she didn't have the muzzle she would have bit them, not because she's aggressive but because they gave no effort to calm her in anyway at anytime of the visit - no pets, no coos, no allowing her to sniff their hands, nothing. Afterwards the vet asks me w a very rude tone and facial expression if I've given her any flea treatment because she has skin issues on her back from scratching. She looked at us as if we just let her live in a flea infested home with terrible care. We live out in the fields where there is a lot of wild life consistently around our house. We've tried 3 different flea treatments, flea baths, flea collars and bombing the house and we are still struggling to rid them. But being looked and talked to that way made me never want to return here again. When they were done, my dog literally jumped in my arms without me needing to pick her up and she peed on the table. She also had this terrible smell immediately after like she produced some sort of spray or something when she was terrified. I had to give her a bath as soon as we got home because whatever it was smelled disgusting and stayed with her even after we left and that has never happened to her before. Overall they were very rude and unprofessional and have terrible animal handling experience. If you don't like animals and the struggles that occasionally come with them, then you should find a new career. Hope they find better people or people take their pets elsewhere. read more
