When I originally went into my local PetCo the female employee who helped me was incredibly sweet! And was not discrimanatory on ages. So I purchased a fish, and I was so very excited about it I had named it and everything. I bought the fish and left. About 15-20 minutes later I went back to purchase more fish so mine had a friend. That same female said she would be with my friend and I shortly. Before she could even help us this other girl came over as I was holding my fish and about to purchase another. She came to us and started talking about how we are unable to purchase a fish if under 18. But when I purchased this first fish I was unaware of this rule. So she made me return the fish that I had already bought, and that was now my property, overruling my right that once I had purchased the fish it was now mine and I had every right to keep it. But since I was under aged she did not inform me of my rights. And was rude. But I loved the other lady who helped me purchase my fish. read more

I have been coming to this location in East Cobb for years and I have always had a wonderful experience. I am very familiar with the team and I am a long time Vital Care Rewards member. The regular teamembers always acknowledge me & always ask for updates on my fur baby. Today was not a good experience at all due to my interaction with Skylnn. I walked in with two other customers at 9:56am that walked in WITHOUT pets like myself. I was then rudely singled out and told to leave. I informed that I walked in with two other customers and she stated they have grooming appointments. I left without issue but stopped at the door because I was stopped by an older women who asked me where grooming was located. I politely directed her. I was again rudely yelled at from inside that I have to leave the store. I walked outside without issue and stood outside the door for 4 minutes. I brought the items I left at the counter to finally check out and stated how rude and unnecessary her approach and tone was as well as informed her that I was directing another customer to grooming as I was leaving. She immediately got defensive and told me I can either check you out or you can leave. I again told her that her tone was unnecessary and there is a way to talk to people. No acknowledgment or apology was given. I then return to my car and notice that my Vital Care Rewards for the dog food that I bought was not applied. I entered my phone number right in front of her. I went back inside and bypassed her and politely asked another associate, Rosie, if she can check to see if my reward were applied and handed her my receipt. She was very pleasant and willing to help. She even gave me free dog treats to take home to my dog. However, apparently since Skylynn is one of the managers, I had to interact with her again which I was trying to avoid. Her response to not applying my rewards is that the system did not find me. Yet, when I entered my number for this second transaction, the system magically found me. Sure! Today is my fur baby's birthday and I just wanted to come in and get a birthday hat and food /treats but was met with rude customer service. I have two locations as options. Sandy Springs and East Cobb as I am equally distanced from both. This experience left a horrible taste in my mouth and makes me reconsider doing business at this location if I have to deal with this type of interaction. It was beyond unnecessary! read more

I usually bathe my dog at home but she needed an anal expression as well as her nails done and those two things I just don't enjoy doing myself. So I booked a bath appointment for today and made sure to have them make a note that I wanted her completely dry before I picked her up because she doesn't look good when she's air dried and I've had experiences in the past where people have brought her to me still damp. When I picked her up she literally looked worse than when I brought her in. I went back in and asked if they brushed her and the lady said yes. I asked if she blew dried her all the way (because she doesn't mind the dryer so it shouldn't be an issue) and she said she did some and then put her in the kennel with the air dryer. Which is exactly what I didn't want (the first picture is the reason why). I rated this 3 stars because I did get a full refund but I was embarrassed standing at the register with this dog that looked so bad *after* the bath. The second picture is when I brought her home and had to re-wet her and blow dry her myself -- which didn't take long because like I said she doesn't mind the dryer. Overall displeased as I didn't even want a hair cut and if my one instruction was followed I would not have had an issue. Will be returning to the Delk Road location for their self wash if I decide not to just do it at home. But sad that a professional would present me with this absolute mess of a dog. read more

My 8 year old daughter had to surrender her guinea pigs (due to unknown allergies) who she loved very much. Andre, the pet department manager, was AMAZING!! He walked us through the process with kindness and laughter. He made sure we felt 100% informed and what's more, he was VERY intentional about ensuring my daughter was completely comfortable and at ease. He took great notes and made sure the guinea pigs were happy. I have not encountered someone so kind and gentle in a long time. He was professional and just an overall great guy. I stopped in to surf the shelves for a new toy for fido. When I first walked through the doors I was hailed by the cashier with a hearty "Welcome to Petco!" With that announcement ringing in my ears I went in search for toys. Happily, the dog toys are placed strategically right at the front of the store, adjacent to the cashier. I perused their selection and couldn't decide between a Kong and JW's "Bad Cuz" toy. While trying to make up my mind I surfed the rest of the store and almost got lost in the endless row upon row of dog food aisles! Goodness, there is more foor for dogs in this store than in a warehouse! The selection of food was quite a sight! Grain-free, corn-free, rice, oatmeal, fish, meat, etc... the choices were overwhelming! To stop my mind from reeling, I back-tracked out and headed to the cat toys in search of a gift for a family friend who loves cats! The stores choices here were just a plenty as in the dogs area. I left even more bedazzled. In the end, the store was fun to window-shop through as I gather thoughts and ideas on what to get for all my furry children and their cousins. I will return soon armed with my ever-growing toy list! read more

I just moved here from Hawaii and this is the nearest petco to my house. I shop online and at the store. When I went to buy my cat food the salesperson at the check out counter wasn't wearing a mask. She only wore a plastic shield. I tried to stay away as far as I could but I was so upset that they didn't care to protect us customers and our pets. I bring my dog for grooming but now I'm not wanting to anymore. Staff there needs to sanitize, wear mask etc.. read more

This is a nice, clean, well laid out location. It's a bit more compact that others I've been to, but that's not a bad thing. This location's relatively convenient for me at work, so I thought I'd swing by and check them out. I had a pleasant conversation with one staff member who asked about a couple things I was buying since she was a new cat owner. The next morning when it is time to give the princesses their morning repast, I learned that my cat food company rolled out a new product that is in a can that's goldenrod instead of marigold. So because I brought home this thing that is unlike what they usually get, the freakin' princesses won't touch it *grumble*grumble* So I'm back to Petco the next day and they made the return process for the remainder of the case relatively painless. read more

He not only teaches the puppy what any owner would love for them to know, he teaches you the language and skills you need to communicate with your puppy, which has made it a great success for us. In addition to the positive training methods that he and Petco advocate, Jared oversees a FREE puppy social hour on Saturdays and Sundays to promote good behavior and habits. My puppy is now almost a year old, and if I say so myself, interacts politely with other dogs and enthusiastically greets adults and children...most of the time with a high five and always with a smile. My boyfriend and I placed an order online and went to pick it up tonight, we forgot to get a lid for the tank we ordered so we went to get that. We walked around the entire store and did not see a single employee. We got up to the counter to check out and there was no employee at the counter either. My boyfriend had to walk around and almost into the office before getting an employee to help us. Ridiculous. My dog almost died from receiving vaccinations on a Saturday evening at Petco. Do not take your dog here for vaccinations. We had to rush her to an emergency hospital because of the low-grade and poor quality vaccines they provide to pets to save themselves a buck. Not worth the risk!! read more

My 5 y/o Morkie is pretty jumpy and skittish. He really doesn't like the whole experience so I don't expect a perfect groom. I've been bringing him to this Petco and it's been the best so far. But this time, I was totally disappointed. My regular groomer was busy so I agreed to try a new person since she said she'd be there to help. I always give them thorough instructions, just a little clean up to the face, leave ears longer, don't give him orangutan butt bc he has a cowlick. So, when I picked him up the new groomer said he was jumpy as usual but my dog looks like I cut him. His ears are totally hacked, spaces where she just cut out tangles/mats instead of trying to detangle or just leave them alone. I had to get her to even up his face, and finish the nail trim while I held him. I think part of the issue is they don't have the appropriate harness or restraint to hold a nervous dog. Awesome price to get your dog groomed! If you join their rewards program they will send you coupons. We also did a puppy training class here and the group lesson was never more than 2 dogs, sometimes it was just us, so like a private one on one training session.
