We are a retired couple with a 16-month-old mild-tempered mini-goldendoodle, Goldie. Petco groomer Meylin in the Lake Worth store location ruined our highly satisfied experience and relationship with Petco by lying to us and by deliberately entering a false narrative about a vicious, aggressive dog. Apparently, this is recurrent practice by Meylin from reading Luna's review. There is no way we are talking about our 20-pound Zen-mannered mini-goldendoodle who gives everyone kisses, never barks and has never acted in an aggressive manner in her whole life. Her licensed breeder; trainer Barbara at the Petco Wellington store; previous groomer Karen at the Petco Wellington store; her veterinary practice in Wellington; and fellow retired neighbors in Wellington and Boynton Beach can attest Goldie is the sweetest puppy with paw sensitivity due to the general area where the vet had previously drawn blood prior to spay surgery. By corporate policy of which we were never informed and no one previously discussed with us, Goldie can never be groomed at Petco for the rest of her life. Very convenient as we had paid for four grooming (the eighth is free). There is no appeal or presenting contradictory evidence to the outrageous and false claim made by a first-time groomer who does not know Goldie or us, has left us disappointed and very upset. We had to stop all of her auto ship orders with Petco, and will no longer recommend the company, and the wonderful trainer and original groomer who stand behind the company policy. This will be regrettable decision by Petco. read more

Petco at 6185 Jog Rd Lake Worth, FL 33467. There was very poor customer service. I ordered a 20-gallon fish tank because I needed it for the next day. At noon got an email stating that my tank would not be delivered because they don't have any. When I asked why I did it let me order it if they did not have any was told that sometimes their inventory is off, not a great answer that tells me that their employees are not doing their job correctly also I asked if they could locate another one for me was told that was not there job that it was up to me to locate it. I will never buy from that store again. Very poor customer service. read more

After 3 years of living down the street from the place, I ended up giving Petco a shot. We were running low on the supply for the dental wipes for our dog and the current brand that we're using was discontinued. I'm not sure if the corona virus had something to do with it, but I had to search for wipes that can be used other than the chews. The wipes actually are able to clean the teeth a whole lot better than the dental chews in my experience. I had luck and ended up finding a pack of a 100 wipes online and decided to take a chance with ordering it. There was a 15% off coupon code that was applied when I ordered for the first time and I was able to pick up the same day or next day based on my preference. When I arrived the next day, I called the store and told them where I was at in the lot. One of the staff members brought the wipes out for me curbside. It was an easy and smooth transaction! I did return over the weekend to take my dog to get his nails grinded. It has been over a couple months and his nails were overdue for it since they were getting long. Most grooming places are being limited with services and the Petsmart grooming salon that I normally take him to isn't doing nail grinding at the moment due to the coronavirus. I ended up calling Petco and they said to bring in the vaccinated paperwork while being happy to perform the nail grind for my pet. It was the first time that I have been inside (rocking the mask, of course!) and headed straight for the salon. It's smaller than some of the other retail pet stores and I didn't check out the other parts of the store on the visit. The manager of the salon helped check me in and our dog was taken back by a groomer while I completed the rest of the transaction with the paperwork. They have a rewards program that earns perks from purchases. When the groomer was done, she said that Boomer, our dog, did great and wasn't nervous. Usually, he gets so jittery while getting them clipped, so that was a plus! I was impressed with the two positive experiences and they deserve a recognition for it. Well done! read more

I had a job at petco as a junior stylist , I was just learning everything 3 weeks in too , I was unaware of a point system , had 2 medical emergencies with my 2 year old son and I also had called out due to my health problems. the grooming manager Meylin is the WORST she barely even does her own job she had me and others do it . she needs to be let go , crazy how I've heard others say she's the problem but she's still there ! read more

I booked online 2 weeks in advance to get my dog groomed at PETCO - LAKE WORTH. We arrived at the place on time and they made us wait 20 minutes at the reception and when the attendant arrived she told she couldn't do the service to our puppy because it would take longer than expected and she wouldn't have time because she had to leave. I explained to her that we were going to travel the next day and that situation would be very harmful for me and my family. She just apologized and said she wouldn't do it. I asked to speak with the Manager who seemed to be already aware of the irresponsibility and indifference of the attendant and only confirmed that she wouldn't be possible to assist us. I asked why didn't they advise me before. Then came the excuse that they tried to contact us but did not get answer!!!. They have our cell phones, our emails, and none of them received messages. Just to reinforcing how lying and disrespect end up becoming evident, the Manager also informed that she saw on her computer system that the last time we were there was a year ago, but our puppy is 10 months old and we have never been to PETCO, not even close to this location. My groomer of 20years was closed on Sunday so I took a chance at Petco to have my (regularly groomed) dog groomed. I was told to pick him up at 430. I arrive at 430. He's not ready. No apology just matter of fact. I have to wait with toddler in tow. Bathrooms are closed to public due to the Virus. It's now 507, no dog and no groomer in site . A simple phone call that he needed more time would have been a nice courtesy. I appreciate attention to detail but their terrible lack of consideration and communication towards the customer leaves me with no desire to return. **edit-40 min after scheduled pick up. Manager apologized and also didn't charge me. That was a kind gesture. According to the manager the groomer was new and not accustomed to holding wiggly dogs. (When I dropped my dog off I told him he doesn't like his face done although not aggressive at all) read more

I dropped my dog off at his scheduled appointment time of 2:00pm, and they told me due to some of the matting he was going to have to be cut short, which I reluctantly agreed too. They took over 5 hrs to "groom" him, calling me once to tell me it was going to take longer than anticipated and then again to tell me "he was so stressed out, that he peed and pooped in the cage"- after he wasn't taken out to the bathroom for the entire 5 hrs he was there! They did part of a literal SHAVING of a goldendoodle!! But left his hair completely uneven, disheveled and homely looking and wanted to schedule his follow-up appoint to "finish" a WEEK LATER after he was completely traumatized by the whole experience. His picture looks like a before and after 12 month crack binge. It was the worst experience, the staff was rude, and never even apologized for the outcome. Needless to say, we didn't pay for the service but it was traumatizing for my dog and ended up looking terrible. Never, never take your dog to PETCO! Also, Lucas was the groomer. read more

Brandon rang me up and Melanie got me some fresh water gold fish. They were both professional and provided excellent service . I like this Petco so much that I just cant seem to stay away despite the questionable fish keeping conditions there . It's a great store and you cannot beat the prices. I thought I was done spending money on saltwater marine life but they had one great looking sea anemone for an amazing price that I just had to take home yesterday and so far so good and my clownfish at home seems to love it so much . I also got some feeder goldfish to test out a new fresh water tank I constructed and they seem to be doing very good as well . Mixed feelings about this place but the store and its staff is definetly always a consistent 5 star except for that one female manager ;) but I wont list any names just look out for red hair! ;) read more

Two weeks ago my daughter and I went into this store to buy some fish. We told the employee that we would be needing help and then he disappeared. Fifteen minutes later another person needed help and she told another employee and she said she would get someone. Then the first employee came back and helped that customer first. We walked out of the store because we got tired of waiting. My daughter has been looking for a 2nd job and she applied at this Petco. I had my doubts about her applying because I was unimpressed with their service. Yesterday, Shelly called her for an interview and when she found out my daughter wasn't available on weekends she rudely said "You work around OUR schedule, we don't work around yours!" and said "We don't need you!" and she hung up on my daughter....didn't say goodbye either, just hung up! I hope they are more caring with the animals because they sure don't care about the customers!! I won't be going back. I will go to Pet Supplies Plus instead! read more

I get my dog, Bailey, shaved at Petco every few months because her hair is so thick, and they always are so patient with her (she's a little skiddish in public). I chose Petco for their location and price, and I have never had any issues. The staff are friendly, and she and I both love her cut! Never had an issue with Petco. read more

Great experience! Went in to buy a hamster for my birthday boy. Having only owned dogs my whole life I knew nothing about hamsters... Felicia was amazing introducing me to all of the hamsters and helped me pick out 2 gerbils that are very social and sweet. Felicia was super helpful and very knowledgeable, amazing customer service! Run away!!!! I took my mini schnauzer for a cut. Not only they butchered her but used her for a training a new stylist without consulting me. The poor dog had the two ears cut and when asked what had happened we were simply told that yes they are sorry but that the were using a machine that was missing teeth. Instead of apologizing all we got was lame excuses. Unless you want to punish your dogs, avoid this location!!! read more

I've never had a good experience at this Petco. Called in the other day to ask if they had fuzzies ( little frozen mice you feed baby snakes) and they assured me they had them. Drove to the store and turns out they actually don't have them when we just called 10 mins before and they told us they did. Doesn't seem like anyone who works there actually knows anything about the place they work at or the animals they have except for one guy that works there. Don't go here and waste your money. They refused to take my dog for grooming even with all paperwork provided; the ASSISTANT MANAGER of the store (Lindsay) HUNG UP ON ME ON THE PHONE when I asked for her to apologize for being rude to my wife. This place is a complete and utter joke. I am leaving negative reviews on every site I can find and am contacting the district manager to complain. I urge anyone in the Lantana / Lake Worth area to refrain from shopping at Petco Lantana & Jog. I tried to buy a dead goldfish to feed my pet fish, and the lady working there said I had to be 18 to buy a dead goldfish. So I had my friend who was 18 go in there and she said that he couldn't buy a goldfish dead or alive, then told me that I dragged this guy off the street to buy me a goldfish. I thought that was very rude and took my business elsewhere. Would not recommend going to this place of business. read more

The fish always die, they never refund the monies or replace the fish the managers recommend medicine for pets but none are doctors, test the water that their fish are in. The nitrates are through the roof. Dogs are sick dead fish and repiles always their. Some one should investigate their care plan, oh yeah their isn't one.
