Received services back in June to assist in training my JRT. Training was 80% talk. Talking about what BB stands for...theory about being the alpha and making noises to correct a dog's behavior. The techniques are so antiquated. Other trainers I have worked with can't believe I went to Bark Busters for help. Working with other trainers has actually led to results. Results I was hoping to see from BB. What really gets me is that after the 2 sessions, I have never heard from Bark Busters. Not the company, nor the trainer. I guess they do not stand by their word or contract. Like Steve Miller sang, " Go on and take the money and run". I will never ever recommend Bark Busters. My husband and I adopted 2 black labs that were bred to be working dogs for TSA. The dogs didn't make the cut so we adopted a brother and sister when they were one year old. We've now had them four months and what Lee has done and taught us to do is beyond believable. When we brought the dogs home they had never been in a house, only in a kennel their entire life. They were not potty trained, were not good on the leash, and didn't know even the basic commands such as sit, stay, come. They barked in their crates non stop and would go potty in the house AFTER being brought in from outside. The male dog would not look us in the face and was afraid of the garage and the car and had to be picked up and put in the car for vet visits. He was 60 plus pounds at the time so needles to say he only went to the vet when my husband or sons could put him in the car. We phoned Lee and that's the best call we've every made. He came into the room and his presence alone prompted very different behavior in our furry babies. He worked with them, taught us to work with them, answered my emails usually within an hour or so, but always the same day, and has had several follow up visits. Every single visit with Lee resulted in marked improvement. Fast forward four months to present day and now our guys will go their crates simply by saying "crate". They rarely if every bark in their crates and if so all I have to say is "quiet". They ring a bell on the door when they need to go potty. They don't bark at the neighbors any longer. They sit, stay and come. Walking them on a leash is easy easy easy now. They go through the garage and jump into the car now. The icing on the cake is that now when the doorbell rings they bark, but when I say "It's ok", they go sit at the top of the landing on the stairs. The male dog not only looks us in the face now but brings big sloppy kisses all the time! They are loving, confident, secure and a source of pure joy to us. They are so well behaved that they had their first visit to the dog park yesterday and did beautifully. A man was passing out hot dog bites to the dogs and they were jumping and climbing all over him. Our sweet girl sat in the middle of them and waited for him to give her a bite...no jumping, climbing, barking, just sitting beautifully until it was her turn. Our dogs would not be as happy and we would not be as happy if we had not phoned Lee at Bark Busters to help us. It's a joy to watch him train the dogs. It's obvious he has a true love of animals and our dogs love their time with him.

I am writing to share how pleased I am with the two lessons I have had with my pit bull mix puppy…read more I was a bit reluctant because of the cost, but Marley is very much still a youngster and super high energy, so in view of so many high ratings I decided to bite the bullet and enroll. We hopefully will have her for many years, and will all be happier if she (and us!) are well-trained. Marley is very smart and I was sure that with the right help she would learn fast. The first lesson was with Ryan...he was knowledgeable, patient with both canine and human, articulate and calm. He even was able to make the experience fun for Marley. Jake was with us the second time, and he was just as terrific as Ryan. There is a lot of information given, but with the way they taught, I have been able to retain most of it and work successfully with Marley between classes. Do not hire Brian Ganzler/Pawper Training.  He is not certified, does not train your dog, will not…read morehonor his stated refund policy and unsuccessfully sues customers. We hired Brian Ganzler/Pawper Training to train our dog, in his home, to walk on a leash, obey commands and stop eating her poop.  He charged us $2,500 and offered us a money-back guarantee.  When we asked if he could put that in a contract, he said he didn't do contracts and we could consider his texts his word.  That was a red flag. After a month of having our dog in his home, Ganzler did nothing.  She still couldn't walk on a leash, obey any commands and was still eating poop.   We followed all his advice, taking away training pads and putting her in a smaller crate at night.  Nothing he recommended worked. Ganzler claimed he had no time to do leash or commands because he was busy with the poop, but that doesn't take all day and he didn't even do that. She also suffered a mysterious seizure while in his home. After the seizure we had her examined by two veterinarians.  They found nothing wrong with our dog and suspected she must have ingested something or been shocked while in Ganzler's home. Ganzler claimed our dog could not be trained because she suffered the seizure and had brain damage.  Our veterinarians confirmed there was no brain damage.  Certified dog trainers (Ganzler is not certified) said even if there was she could still be training. We asked Ganzler to refund our money as he promised in writing.  He refused to honor his written money-back guarantee. He then said he could still train her in just one more week - even though a month of training did nothing, and he had just said she couldn't be trained. We then offered to let him keep nearly $1000 and just refund the rest.  He again refused. We ended up having to sue Ganzler to get him to honor his written money-back guarantee. He then counter-sued us, claiming we cost him money by not using him for further training. At the courthouse we offered arbitration, and were willing to accept a partial refund. He again refused. The judge heard both our cases.   She quickly ruled against him, noting he offered a written money-back guarantee then refused to honor it.   She also quickly threw out his countersuit, noting he didn't have a cancellation policy and can't just make up his own policies after the fact. Do not hire Brian Ganzler or Pawper Training.   He does not train the dog as promised, refuses to honor written policies, tries to enforce policies he makes up after the fact, then unsuccessfully sues customers.
