Petco mgr rang me 5x in hrs after my pup died to convince me (with lies) to turn over his bod for an unbiased 3rd party exam but he allowed his petco affiliate Meadow Hills to sweep my guy's throat, not giving us our dues.
Groomer jessica, didnt send a word of condolence, explanation, excuse, nothing. $20 tips were nice but to be 'personable' and act as a 'co-parent' as described on petco.com, no way. Wasnt til 2 wks later i realized they protected themselves, caring nuthin about a dead dog or the agonizing parent. The sec a report of an injury gets out, petco draws a line in the sand. Unethical fools even started a claim in my name, spelling my last name wrong, 'hiring' affiliated firm, Sedgwick, to do the 'investigation'.
In typical fashion, i got their 'finding' before receiving his dogtopsy report from WSU. I mean, can you believe the nerve? Shows an obvious desire to make this go away. Yeah, I signed a waiver excusing them of any little bit of responsibility but their actions afterwards are unforgivable.
So, as mentioned, petco's affiliated vet clinic here is called Meadow Hills and in my moment of pain and confusion, i trusted words emmitt told me during his 5, count em, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 phone calls the few hrs after my guy died. But wait. Know how many calls I got from him after that day? One. Letting me know he'd dropped by pups body off in Pullman so WSU could do the job he promised. Thanked him, like an idiot but after 2 wks of lonliness without my dog, being ignored by petco and some obsessive recollection led to the realization i failed him not only in life, but in death.
See, I'd bet my life and hope of being in the Lord's arms for eternity im not mistaken that emmitt put him and his store before me, my pup and a fair dogtopsy. Way I was treated for the 2 wks following his passing told me that we were silenced victims of unethical behavior. Ooh, the Lord has already told me itd be wise to have faith and forgive but, no lie, He and i both know im not that strong. My little baby brother did not want to go in to get groomed, even plopping his lil butt down but i saw it way too late, failed him and its killing me. After i signing a waiver, groomer jessica felt it necessary to not pick up my 20lb lovebug up but instead put a leash around his neck and drag him 3 feet across the line. Told now its not enough for petco to have owners come in, make an appt, sign the waiver. Petco ensures they take no risk of responsibly for anything but i digress..

I blew it bigtime and let MY guy way down but didn't treat myself like they did. They added insult to an already excruciating injury and it's not as if i don't wanna forget.. I simply can't. Nothing i can forget even if i wanted.
