The worst experience with the Vet service . First let me tell you,I have never in my life complained on Yelp or any website . Arrived 15 minutes early as asked by Vetco . Waited for about 15 minutes asked how do we check in ? The girl ignores me ,she then comes back about 5 minutes later and checkins 2 people that where behind me and tells me they where here first they parked next to me and came into store about ten minutes after me . Rude behavior and a total do not care attitude . The online system maybe needs some updating don't know .You have an employee who is not trained or hates people not sure seemed like a lot more than a bad day . Online I received several emails and updates so that part of the system works ,it's just a people problem . read more

This was the only Petco with a 15 mile radius from my house that had the joint medicine that I needed for my dog. No other pet store carried flexadin. I don't even live 15 miles from this Petco...it's actually probably like 10 miles give or take. It's located in a shopping center but at the end. Therefore parking is a shared lot but since they are at the end it wasn't hard to find parking. It's actually a nice small Petco. My son loves seeing all the animals and they actually had an adoption day for cats. It was really easy to find the flexadin and they carried a month supply or 2 months. They really only had 1 of each left on the shelf so I say I got pretty lucky that it wasn't sold out when I came. It was nice to visit this location because then I would never know about this shopping center and next time I might take the time to check it all out. read more

I took my dog to get him groomed . He has matts hence the reason I took him. They said you'll have to take him to a vet to get him groomed. Tried to make me feel bad because he was matted. So I got upset and left. i made an appt with another Petco . She read me the notes they left . They said he tried to bite. he got aggressive and tried to bite the clippers. First off they never even took possession of my dog . And it infuriates me that they left a note like that. I will never take my dog to the Kemah location again. They were not nice at all. You expect to get help when you need it instead you get condescension and lies . read more

I'm not a regular patron of this chain but my kids like to look at animals and I can't pass up a First to Review. We came on opening day so everything was sparkly, shiny and new. Employees were also helpful and available. This particular location was smaller than others I've been to. It was roughly half the size. I didn't see any doggy daycare space here but there was a kitty adoption spot, a vet clinic, grooming area and a self wash center which was new to me. It's $10 a pop and they provide the shampoos, towels, space and tubs- you supply the dog. We saw birds, reptiles, fish, rodents and ferrets (another first for me). They seem to have all of the supplies you'd need just smaller and more compact. Either way we will most likely be back, my kids dig the iguanas. read more

This was the worst haircut my dog has ever gotten. She is a 14 year old Bichon Frise. They shaved my dog completely and the only excuse given was "she was hard to do" she is deaf and has arthritis and they didn't accommodate to her and we finally found someone who can cut her breed correctly but if you don't want your dog shaved don't go here. She was terrified coming home and every time we've given petco a chance this is what we are left with. I found another groomer that is cheaper and better. She was supposed to get just a clean up because her breed has longer hair but instead they shaved her without our knowledge. I wish I could give this place a 9. Really sort of surprised when I brought my two small dogs in for grooming today. I had scheduled two at 9,930 but the app won't do that together. So I arrived with both at 920. Was told they could only do one because of a 15 minute late window policy (on the 9am) . Look I get it, I don't need to wreck the schedule but there was zero effort to retain my business. It was just sort of a weird exchange at the counter with one person behind the computer and one person vacuuming. Last time I was there at least they extremely kind and interested in the dogs. Obviously not worth my time or theirs to reschedule. It's already very expensive at petco from my last visit. Two small dogs 10 and 4 pounds were $175. read more

So we have been to this place three times in the last week trying to get my son a fish and every time I need to get something else for the tank or they said the fish would die. The first time okay I appreciate it I let it filter for 24 hours went back the next day then a different guy helped me and said oh you filtered it with this okay well now you need to buy this one for germs and filter it again. Okay I get that no big deal. Come back a third time and my wife goes this time and the lady said she had to buy a heat lamp for the tank and we needed a bigger tank and my wife said that's okay we can come back another time for that and SHE SAID OKAY WELL WE CANNOT SELL YOU THE FISH. Lol come on I've never heard of a place deliberately finding reasons to not want to sell fish to make money for their store it was very weird and off putting. My wife asked for the manager and the lady ended up taking entirely too long so my wife left. I don't recommend this place if you want to buy a fish because they will find every reason to not sell you one. I felt like I was being helped by the fish police. Just all around a bad and weird experience not sure what the ladies name is that helped my wife but she is blonde with glasses so if you go into buy a fish watch out for her she is rude and unprofessional. I used to ALWAYS bring my dogs to get groomed here until today. They had a mix up with my dogs breed when I brought him in for his scheduled grooming and Elizabeth who was suppose to be his groomer was insanely condescending about his breed being mixed up. They had him listed as my other dog a yorkie, when he is a blue heeler mix. I told them it was fine and I could reschedule if necessary but the groomer told me that she could take care of him. I stated that the price change was fine but then when her coworker came out she started complaining IN FRONT OF ME. About how he was suppose to be a yorkie "yeah this is my YORKIE appointment" "he's obviously not a yorkie" at that moment I told them to cancel my appointment and I took him to another location to get taken care of. I like Petco. They do a good job. They take care of my two Boston Terriers. The problem I have is I took them on 12/20/20 to get a bath toe nails trims, ears cleaned and teeth brushed. 125.00 . I am not poor but they have gotten just to expensive! Once again, 120 dollars to give two little dogs a bath. I believe they have run me off. Today I brought my adorable 4 month old puppy to get a trim. She's a cockapoo, only 7 pounds so she's very small. Let me remind you that it's December and it's very cold. I told the groomer to cut her down to the second longest length. I pick my dog up and she is unrecognizable!!! The woman was also clueless as to what was wrong!! Recently in the Petco in Kemah- am a volunteer at a animal shelter - after selecting a few items, I asked about some food/ treats and because they were slightly past the sell by date they adamantly said they would not sell them to me & would throw them in the trash- w/ all the shelter & rescue groups in the Houston area it seems a terrible shame that this is their policy- do they truly care about pets or their almighty dollar/ profit? As anyone knows almost all food - human & especially pet is good for several months past the sell by date. I encountered this strange demented thinking at another area Petco about a year ago & they said they were told to slit the bags & dump them in the trash- not what one would call "pet friendly". read more

My dog got out while was out of town for the day, and someone brought her here not knowing what else to do with her. They immediately contacted me and told me they could keep her there until I got back. When I went to pick her up 2 of the employees had bought her a new collar, toys, and a few treats.. they also let her out and fed her. Horrible. Don't ever go here for Vetco services. It's horrible. No one is in charge. No one knows organization skills. Took them 5 times to get my number correct in the system. Meanwhile 3 people got ahead of me because he person registering them knew what she was doing. Also, several (5) people were turned away prior to 1300 (closing time) and then at 3pm, a lady walked in and batted her eye lashes just right and they let her get in line for VETCO services. Totally unethical and very biased treatment. The Vet realizes the service is horrible and he begs you to give a good survey if you get one sent via email. I told him, what happened and absolutely not would I give a good review. I refuse to LIE. Save yourself some time and frustration. Just simply HORRIBLE! PVS does a much better job. Never again will I waste my time or money at this ridiculous place for vaccinations! read more
