    I needed a particular item and wanted to get it locally but it was out of stock everywhere on island. I purchased it on Amazon and they failed me not once, but twice - sent me the wrong product & after requesting a replacement for the one I ordered, I received the same exact thing. I almost gave up but saw online, that this Petco had it in stock so I went around the mountain to get it. The store is currently under construction but OPEN. Signage could be improved - the lack could be due to all the changes throughout the store. I think the employees are really busy because I did a couple rounds before I found an associate to help me. If I can give you a tip, it would be to know your prices. If I hadn't done my research, I would've paid the inflated in-store price. Vetericyn's Antimicrobial hydrogel in the 8oz. bottle usually ranges from $25-32. It was $25.15 (on sale) on their website and $44.99 in-store. See my photos. The actual product isn't shown because I was holding it while I snapped the photo. I asked for a price match at the register and the cashier happily did it, so I walked out paying $26.34 like I planned. TL;DR: They're open, some products may be more expensive in-store vs on their website but they will price match

    Uncut pet's nail

    On 4/17, I brought my elderly dog to Vetco for his monthly treatment (Vetco is a GREAT service, amazing staff, I can not recommend them enough) Approximately 4 weeks ago, at Petco salon, we had our dogs nails trimmed. Unfortunately they missed one, and it is quite long. Since getting my dog to Petco is a very difficult task, due to his advanced age, his weight, and his anxiety of vet-care, I decided I would simply have the one nail trimmed the next scheduled appointment. Tonight, after his appointment, I took him over to the salon to have them clip the one long nail. I was told by the salon since we did not bring him back within 1 week, there was nothing they could do. I offered to pay the full price for all the nails then, if they clip just the one - I felt it was ridiculous I had to pay for their mistake, but I just wanted it fixed. they agreed to that, but then asked when he saw the vet last (which was 10 minutes prior) that against policy, he had to wait 24 hours. Bummer - but understandable. I requested I talk to the manager for when I bring him back in, as I felt I shouldn't have to pay for the re-work. The store manager came up very bothered before the conversation even started. Before hearing what I was requesting, he said it's policy that the animal has to wait 24 hours and there's nothing he can do. I explained to him I 100% understand that, my issue isn't with that policy, it was that the salon missed a nail (it's visibly extremely evident, it's very long compared to the rest), and I need to now to pay to have them clip the one nail when I return. He then explained to me that when he goes to get a pedicure, it is his responsibility to notice if the nail salon missed one of his nails, so it was my "responsibility as a pet owner" to notice the nail. I explained that the issue is bringing him back in is difficult, which is why I am just not bringing him back. He continued to be annoyed with me, which was attitude he gave me before I ever had a chance to speak. I told him he is clearly very busy, and I do not want to waste anymore of his time, and I would like to finish my shopping, so if he would kindly give me the corporate number. He would not, and said that he will make an exception and cut his nail. I told him I'm not interested in that, and to please give me a corporate number or email. He then argued saying "I said we would cut the nail", I asked him if he's refusing to provide me a corporate contact, and he told me I'm being dramatic, embarrassing me in front of customers. I continued my shopping, he went to the front end, wrote down the number on receipt paper and handed it to me with much attitude. I then got in line, when he continued to try to argue with me, of which I was not engaging in other than saying sir I don't want to discuss this any longer. He kept arguing with me, told me I was being dramatic again (he remained the only one continuing to argue) and, embarrassed in front of other customers, I responded "I will just let corporate know I am a dramatic bad pet owner". He then said I was putting words in his mouth because he said I was being dramatic, not that I was dramatic.... It was a very embarrassing and upsetting experience. I would like to reiterate - VetCo - amazing staff. 5 out of 5. Petco, that was not the type of experience that encourages me to continue to purchase my pet supplies at this establishment.

    Please don't come to this vet. I had to come here 3 times in a week because I just got a kitten. First was a check up, apparently the first vet exam is free for under 6months old. She had fleas when I got her, I have her a bath and got rid of all that I could find, but I asked for something to make sure that she's clean. They gave me a medicine for it and applied it right then, which is nice. They gave me advice for her bowel movement issues which did work! And told me to bring in her first bowel movement for screening for parasites just in case. The visit was $99. Two days later, I came to drop off the bowel movement. Easy. Then the next day they call and say she has a parasite and I need to come pick up the medicine and that it's ready to be picked up. That's today. I've been waiting here for about 45min-1hr. They told me 2 separate times that they're filling up the medicine "right now" and will be out soon, the second time was 10 minutes later and they said about 5 minutes. That was 20 minutes ago. Then I got the medicine. She explained to me exactly what the note's directions had printed out. Then the checking out. It took an additional 5 minutes for her to click around the laptop before I could pay? The girl in the front has to be new because it seems like she doesn't know what she's doing most of the time and is constantly asking for help from coworkers. All the people that work here are nice, so it's a shame that service is so slow. Look at this bottle of medicine. It takes an hour to fill? They said it was ready to pick up and just delayed it an hour... very weird. This takes 5 minutes MAX. If you have the choice, don't choose this place for your sanity. I won't give 1 star because they did help my kitten and they're nice.

She is a literal gold mine for the practice. I highly recommend going in when Dera is working at the Kailua location. She staffs at other locations, so be sure to find out when she works at Kailua or, if you prefer, Kaneohe. Dr. Pressler was also amazing.     I waited a full 7 months to write this review to ensure it didn't just come from an emotional…read moreplace. I brought my precious 18.5 year old boy here to assess whether we should continue to medicate him or help him cross the rainbow bridge. I decided for the latter and that isn't what made this such a terrible experience. I regret each moment after I made that decision. When you arrive at this clinic, they take your dog from you and examine them while you wait in the car. So they had already taken him from me. The vet came out to have the conversation with me about options, and when I made my decision they told me I could wait in the car or the reception area. I chose the reception area, not really thinking much about it because I was grieving. Within moments, the receptionist started giving me papers to sign and options for cremation and I heard my baby boy screaming bloody murder in the room next to the reception area. I was in a panic, but in freeze mode, crying while the receptionist just stared at me. I had no idea they were going to needle and sedate him before I even got to see him again! After what felt like an eternity of hearing him scream, they brought me into the room and he was completely in shock and already half way gone. I picked him up and she didn't even give me a chance to talk to him or say anything she just stated explaining what she was injecting into his IV. He was dead within mere minutes of me stepping into the room. Then of course they told me to take all the time I needed. I was so traumatized I walked out and left his blanket, his bed, his collar. To be fair, I called the clinic a week later and left a message saying I wanted to speak with the clinic manager about a recent experience. No one ever called me back. They never even called to see if I wanted his things back. And they charged me over $400 for this traumatic experience. Don't get me wrong, losing a dog is never easy. But when I've done home euthanasia before, it's so much more peaceful and compassionate. This. Was. Awful. My sweet boy did not deserve to die that way after 18 faithful years. I will never, ever forget his screams. Never. Look elsewhere for pet care. This place doesn't deserve your money.
